Santa Baby by Karen Erickson
Chapter One “I can’t believe you brought me here.” “Oh, come on, live a little. This is a once a year event,” Beverly said, rolling her eyes. She sipped from her beer and watched her best friend and fellow co‐worker shake her head. It was the Saturday before Christmas and the department store they worked at had been insane with shoppers looking for that last good deal. Considering the holiday was only three days away, the deals were there, but the selection was slim. The rush of shoppers made the day go by but exhausted them both. But it didn’t stop her from dragging Megan to Shenanigan’s for the annual Ho Ho Hot Santa contest. She liked Christmas, but seriously, she couldn’t wait for the shopping madness to be over. Of course, the week after Christmas wasn’t much fun with all of the returns and general bullshit, but she could deal with that. January was the best time of year in her retail‐minded opinion. The store would be knee deep in inventory, counting everything left over after the holidays, everyone felt poor after Christmas so there wouldn’t be many shoppers out, and all the new spring lines would start to arrive. But for now, they had to deal with the insanity known as last minute Christmas shoppers. Hence the reason for coming to the bar and checking out the contest she’d been hearing about for the last couple of weeks.
5
Santa Baby by Karen Erickson Who could resist a bunch of hot men parading around in Santa hats, trying to score votes from horny women over stimulated by excessive holiday planning? She knew she certainly couldn’t. Beverly smiled at Megan and grabbed her arm. “Look, they’re coming out! Whoo hoo!” Beverly watched the group of well muscled men wearing little red shorts trimmed with white fur and Santa hats jog out onto the floor. Every single person in the bar cheered loudly, the amped up women whistling and catcalling at the men who formed a line in the center of the floor. Beverly grinned then caught her friend hanging her head down as if embarrassed by it all. “Lighten up, wench! These guys are hot with a capital H.” Beverly nudged Megan in the ribs. She loved her friend, but sometimes she could be such a prude. A man in jeans and a red T‐shirt that read “Sit on my lap if you’ve been a naughty girl” stood next to the guys, gesturing for everyone to quiet down. The crowd settled down at his command, their faces eager as they all stared collectively at the deliciously sexy lineup of men. Oiled chests gleamed under the spotlights that shone down upon them, and they all had seductive, mysterious expressions on their faces. Beverly scanned the lineup, doing a mental size up of each one. They were all handsome, and they definitely all had hot bodies, but she especially liked… “Lordy, look at the third one from the left,” Beverly murmured near Megan’s ear, fanning herself. “He’s sexy as hell.” Megan shrugged. “Too fake.” “I’ll take too fake. I like blondes.” Yeah, so maybe he was a little too tan, and maybe his teeth were a little too white, but damn he was hot. His spiky blond hair, the firm set of his jaw, the angular planes of his face, all reminded her of someone. A celebrity of some sort, but she couldn’t quite place him. She snapped her fingers. “Val Kilmer in Top Gun! He looks like Iceman.” Beverly smiled. Oh, yeah, Iceman. She’d watched that movie over and over when she’d been a teen. All the girls had swooned over
6
Santa Baby by Karen Erickson Tom Cruise, but she preferred Iceman. He was naughty, a little mean and oh‐so‐sexy. Mmm, mmm, mmm. “Huh?” Megan turned to look at her confusedly, but Beverly gestured toward the guy who started talking on the floor. It looked like the contest was about to really begin. “All right, ladies, tonight is the night you’ve all been waiting for! Are you ready to meet the contestants of the Ho Ho Hot Santa contest?” After much cheering and screaming from the sex crazed audience, Mister Red Shirt smirked. “I would take that as a yes, so let’s get started!” “Beverly, I think I’m gonna –” Megan stood, but Beverly clamped a tight hand on her forearm. No way was her friend going to bail. “You’re not going anywhere, sweetheart. You’re going to sit your ass back down and enjoy this corny show of man flesh. Understood?” Beverly watched, satisfied when Megan sighed and sat down in her chair, grabbing at her almost empty glass of beer and gulping the rest of it down. Her friend really needed to relax and let go. Have a little fun. After being dumped by her asshole of a boyfriend, Megan also needed to get laid. Of course, that was Beverly’s answer for every ailment lately. She needed to get laid too. Always. Mister Red Shirt began introducing each contestant, allowing the audience to cheer loudly for long minutes before he moved on to the next one. When he got to her favorite blond, Beverly sat up straighter and listened carefully. She didn’t want to miss any details. “Now we have Jay, Santa’s blond and buff little helper.” The crowd booed when he emphasized the word ‘little.’ “He’s twenty‐three, single, ladies, and his favorite thing about Christmas is cuddling in front of the fire when it’s cold outside. Aww.” The ladies chimed in with an ‘aww’ after him. Beverly’s eyes widened in surprise. Twenty‐three? Hell, she was ten years older than the guy! Did that really matter? Nah. “He’s practically jail bait,” Megan hissed in Beverly’s ear.
7
Santa Baby by Karen Erickson “I don’t mind.” Beverly smiled and shot a glance toward Megan. “I bet he’d be able to keep up with me better than Gary.” Gary was her ex‐boyfriend. Her much older ex‐boyfriend who, for no reason whatsoever, had lost interest in sex almost immediately after they moved in together. She’d put up with it for a while, tried to work on it, then tried to ignore it. He’d blamed his age, stress, whatever he could think up, but really he’d been fooling around with other women. Finally, after a year of living together, she couldn’t take it anymore and left him. She’d been on the prowl ever since. “Is that all you want? Some guy who can give it to you all night long? How about meaningful conversation, culture, intelligence? A man who can provide you comfort when you need it most?” Megan’s earnest expression, her seemingly wide‐eyed wonder, made Beverly want to snort. So she did. “I want a man to provide me an orgasm when I need it most. That’s all I want, sweetie.” Well, that wasn’t quite true, but it was what she wanted for now. She was done trying to find her one true love, her soul mate. Just the thought of the term soul mate made her want to gag. No, she just wanted to find a hot guy to shag all night long. And she’d set her sights on the perfect male specimen, Jay the twenty‐three‐ year old Santa stud. He was just what she was looking for. Young, dumb and full of cum. Hey, didn’t they say that in Top Gun? She couldn’t remember, but hell, it certainly fit. Beverly propped her elbow onto the round table and rested her chin on her fist. She watched Jay the hottie as he stood there with a big grin on his face, his eyes seeming to do a sweeping scan of the entire room. Her body went on instant alert, practically begging for him to notice her. She crossed her legs, let her skirt slide up her black tights‐clad legs and hoped like hell that he’d notice. He did.
8
Santa Baby by Karen Erickson His gaze lit upon her legs and did a slow glide up their length until his eyes met hers. Deep green eyes watched her with interest, his right eyebrow cocked and full lips parted. Heat rose within her as she stared back, her heart going pitter patter in her chest. Talk about yummy. Just one look from her young Santa wannabe and her panties were ready to catch fire. Jay smiled, and it sent a zing straight to her sex. Her nipples hardened, and she rubbed her thighs together to ease the ache that suddenly sprang between them. He looked away, a wicked smile still curving his luscious lips, and Beverly had the urge to nip at them with her teeth. She knew without a doubt that whatever happened between them – well, she certainly hoped something would happen – would be combustible. Outrageous. Make her out of her mind with pleasure. Just from one look and she knew this. Beverly glanced over at her friend to find Megan staring raptly at the stage much as she just had. Her gaze seemed particularly focused on the right end of the lineup of men. She nudged Megan in the ribs. “What are you staring at?” “Um, nothing.” Megan grabbed her empty glass and shook it. “Is there someone around here who’ll take my drink order?” Beverly scanned the lineup then focused on the guy at the end of the row. She stared at Megan’s own Hot Santa with narrowed eyes. He was certainly gorgeous, no doubt. But she’d already declared her own Hot Santa contestant. “You were eyeing that guy on the end.” Megan shook her head and glanced about the room. Anywhere but at Beverly’s shrewd gaze. “Was not.” “Were too. I can’t blame you, he’s dee‐lish, though I’m still holding out for Jay the hottie. Ooh, he’s going to talk about your guy next.” “He’s not my guy,” Megan insisted, but Bev hushed her silent. She didn’t really listen to what the announcer had to say about him, though. She was too busy watching Jay. He stood amongst the other men with a look of confidence, arms crossed in front of his broad, muscular
9
Santa Baby by Karen Erickson chest. He had washboard abs she wanted to search with her tongue, narrow hips and thighs that looked rock hard. She could even make out a telltale bulge beneath the red velvet shorts. How she wished the stupid contest were over so she could approach him already. All of this waiting was a big waste of time. Suddenly the crowd went nuts at something Megan’s hottie said, the women screaming loud enough to shake the rafters. Megan stuck her fingers in her ears, and Beverly yanked them out. “You’re such a sissy.” “These women are insane, you have to admit that,” Megan said, shaking her head slowly. “Yeah, but that’s the fun of it, you know? A bunch of ladies right before Christmas ready to cut loose and have fun.” Beverly glanced about the room, taking inventory of the women filling it. “If you’ll notice, the majority of them look like middle‐aged mothers away from their bratty kids for the night.” Beverly couldn’t help the tug of longing that touched her at the thought of children, a husband and a normal, settled life. She talked a good game of wanting hot sex all the time and nothing more, but deep down she eventually did want more. Nothing like that at the moment, but it was definitely a goal in her future. A real relationship, something solid yet exciting. Gary couldn’t offer that to her, and that’s why she’d left him. It was so damn hard to find, the perfect relationship; it was a constant struggle she battled within herself. She was starting to believe it flat out didn’t exist. Life was much easier with no commitments, no expectations. “Okay, ladies, now that you’ve been introduced to our ten contestants, we want you all to get to know them better – by joining them out on the dance floor! Yes, open call to the dance floor, come shake your money maker with the Ho Ho Hot Santa boys!” the announcer yelled into the microphone, making the women scream yet again. Music suddenly flooded the room with the familiar strains of “Jingle Bell Rock”, and the women stormed the dance floor in droves, the
10
Santa Baby by Karen Erickson fastest ones grabbing the hands of all the startled‐looking contestants and grooving with them as best they could to a Christmas song. “You should go out there and dance with your man,” Beverly said, her eyes never leaving Jay as he was smothered by a rather large woman with an intent expression. She literally worried for his safety. She also wanted the bitch to take her hands off her man. “Why don’t you go out there and dance with your man?” Megan actually snickered. “I’m waiting for the right opportunity.” Damn if she shouldn’t have taken it the minute the opportunity was announced. “Better hurry up.” The song was fast, two minutes if that, and then another quickie holiday song followed, this time “A Holly, Jolly Christmas”. The ladies were be‐bopping all around the men, hands trailing over any bit of bare skin. Jealousy rose within Beverly so fast she was afraid it would choke her. Megan shook her head. “Who’s picking these songs?” “The DJ over there.” Beverly stood and glanced down at Megan. “Come on, go with me.” She had to go make her claim. Hopefully Megan would do a little claiming herself. “Oh, no way.” Megan shook her head, backing her chair away from Beverly as far as she could. “No way are you going to get me out there on the dance floor.” “Oh, yes I am.” Beverly bent toward her, grabbed Megan’s hand and hauled her to her feet. “Come on, girlfriend, let’s show those women how to dance.” “To old ass Christmas songs? I don’t think so.” Megan tried to yank her hand out of Beverly’s grip, but she wouldn’t let her. The song was already over and “Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer” came on next. The women cheered, everyone starting to sing along with the words, and Beverly pushed through the crowd, dragging Megan with her. She glanced about the dance floor, looking for Jay, and she finally spotted him in the center of the throng. He was dancing with a
11
Santa Baby by Karen Erickson petite, gray‐haired woman old enough to be his great‐grandma, a sweet, polite expression on his handsome face. She ditched Megan without a second thought and started dancing behind him, hoping against hope that he would turn around to find her there. She gyrated close to his fine ass, wishing she was bold enough to grab those firm cheeks and give him a squeeze. He glanced over his shoulder, did a double take and without hesitation turned around, ignoring the old lady completely. His hands landed on her waist, and he pulled her close, so close she could feel the heat radiating from his big body. Firm fingers pressed against her waist, and he smiled at her, his green eyes sparkling. “Fancy meeting you here.” His deep voice sent a thrilling shiver down her spine. “I’ve been watching you.” One of his thick eyebrows rose. “So I’ve noticed.” “My name is Beverly.” No pretenses, no hesitation, she just wanted to lay it all out there. And she could only hope that he would take the bait. “Jay.” He pulled her even closer, his hip brushing against hers, and she nearly swayed at the brief contact. The man was rock hard everywhere with smooth, tanned skin that begged for her touch. She grabbed his biceps, marveling at the muscles beneath her fingers. “I know.” Beverly smiled. Standing so close to him, she realized he was even more handsome than she’d thought. His eyes were gorgeous, such a dark green, and he had a nice smile. The kind of smile that could melt a girl’s panties off, kind of like what was happening to her right now. “So, Beverly, are you enjoying the contest?” “Absolutely, though I don’t think I’m as enthusiastic as some of the other members of the audience.” He chuckled, the sound of it making her skin grow warm. “Thank God for that.” “You don’t like your fans?”
12
Santa Baby by Karen Erickson “Well, there is one in particular.” He grinned. The man was pure charm. And pure sexuality. She wanted him. “So what are you doing after the contest, Jay?” “Well, I believe I’m going to hang out with you, Beverly. What do you think?” What did she think, indeed.

Chapter Two Jay certainly hadn’t expected to find such a beautiful woman tonight in this crowd. The bar was teeming with mostly middle‐aged women looking for a little fun before the frazzle of Christmas day descended. They were more than a little wild and definitely not his type. He had entered the Ho Ho Hot Santa contest as a favor to a friend. Lee, tonight’s announcer and a part‐time bartender at Shenanigan’s, had begged him to join up, telling Jay they were low on contestants. After much whining and an offer for a few free beers, Jay had finally relented. He didn’t much like it, but hell, he wanted to help a friend out. Wasn’t that what the Christmas spirit was all about? The competition proved to be silly but fun. Hey, he liked women paying attention to him like any other guy, but the ladies in tonight’s crowd were a bit much. Several of them had practically sacked him out on the dance floor once the music started, and they weren’t shy about touching him in what he deemed inappropriate places. Hell, if he grabbed some woman’s breasts, he’d be tossed out of the bar. At the very least, she’d call him a pervert. Not only had a little old lady grabbed his pecs and actually tweaked his nipples, but he’d been patted on the ass numerous times and one sneaky hand had even grabbed his crotch for the briefest moment. Un‐freaking‐believable. He’d noticed the dark‐haired beauty in the crowd of women when he’d been standing at center stage with the bright lights practically
14
Santa Baby by Karen Erickson blinding him. She sat at a small table with a blonde amongst the screaming women, an amused expression on her gorgeous face. Her black hair was cut in a trendy, short style that only emphasized the beauty of her face. Her dark brown eyes tilted exotically, and classic red lipstick made her lush mouth stand out against her pale skin. She appeared to be everything he usually didn’t go for in a woman. Calm, cool, sophisticated. He liked his women cute, bubbly and easy going. This one looked like a piece of work. A mighty fine piece of work. Jay had been more than pleasantly surprised to find her bumping and grinding behind him on the dance floor. He’d forgotten all about the grandma he’d been dancing with and turned his sights on her. If she was willing to play, then he wasn’t about to turn her down. He’d been lonely for the last couple of months, caught up in working part time at his father’s law office and going to school. The winter break had thankfully come none too soon, and he had some time to de‐stress. He liked the idea of de‐stressing with a beautiful woman. “We’re going to be hanging out together after this, huh? You’re very perceptive, Jay,” Beverly said with a wink in response to his answer of her earlier question. He winked back. “I don’t believe in messing around, playing games. I just thought I’d come right out and say what I figured was on both of our minds.” She nodded. “I like that. I appreciate your bluntness. I hope you know that I’m rooting for you.” “I would certainly hope so.” He pretended to look affronted, but he couldn’t keep the grin from spreading across his face. “I also want you to know that you’re far too young for me. But for once in my life, I don’t really care.” Curiosity filled him as he examined her closely. Exactly how old was she? She was gorgeous, her body smoking hot, and her skin clear and smooth. Late twenties? That was no big deal. He’d have to ask her more questions later. When they could be all alone.
15
Santa Baby by Karen Erickson The song stopped, and Lee began talking from the sidelines, asking everyone to sit back down so the contest could resume. Beverly looked disappointed to leave him, and he grabbed her hand and squeezed it. “Meet me after the competition and we’ll talk. Please?” “Okay.” She smiled, and the sight of it was like an electric current straight to his dick. He needed to regain some control. It wouldn’t look cool to walk around in the ridiculous red shorts he was forced to wear with a massive hard on. He watched her walk away, appreciating the gentle sway of her hips, enjoying the way her short skirt emphasized the long length of her legs. She wore black tights and knee length boots, a look that had never done anything for him before but for whatever reason worked for him tonight. He could only imagine unzipping her boots and slipping them off her legs. Watching her remove the tights to reveal smooth pale skin… Ah, shit, now he was turned on thinking about a woman removing her tights? He really needed to get a grip. Jay glanced Lee’s way and saw his friend shake his head at him. He smiled in response, his gaze unable to keep from wandering over to Beverly yet again. He couldn’t wait till the contest was over. * * * * * “All right, ladies, let’s hear it again for our sexy Santas!” The women whooped and hollered at the top of their lungs, and Beverly couldn’t help but laugh and scream along with them, earning a glare from Megan who had just returned to their table. Beverly glanced around her, the women waving their arms and wiggling their fingers. They looked more than ready to vote one of those hunky men on stage as this year’s Ho Ho Hot Santa. Beverly secretly hoped Jay would win. “Okay, now is the time to vote for your favorite Ho Ho Hot Santa! I’m going to ask everyone to yell as loud as they can for their favorite
16
Santa Baby by Karen Erickson contestant, because whoever gets the loudest vote wins the coveted title of Ho Ho Hot Santa of 2007. Are we ready to scream, ladies?” The ladies screamed in reply. Beverly started to laugh even more. She couldn’t believe these women. They were too much fun. “All right, let’s get the voting started!” the announcer yelled. Jay shot Beverly a seductive smile, and she lowered her gaze and nibbled on her lower lip, playing coy. She noticed Megan’s own Hot Santa was shooting her searing looks as well. “Your boy toy is smiling at you.” Bev jabbed her pointy elbow into Megan’s ribs. “Ow!” Megan rubbed her side and glared at her. “Give me a break, you’re the one with the boy toy.” Beverly smiled. She knew her expression was smug, but she couldn’t help it. “I know, isn’t it great? We’re getting together after the contest. I think I might take him home and have my wicked way with him.” “You hardly know him.” Megan looked appalled. “I know him well enough. Honey, that man is going to be an eager God in bed, I just know it, not to mention he’s packing a rather large package.” “Bev, how the hell do you know this?” Megan shook her head. “When we were dancing, I rubbed up against him and gave him an instant boner.” Beverly snickered, really putting on a show for her friend. She really had no idea if Jay packed a large package, but she had a strong suspicion he wouldn’t disappoint. “That boy was ready to jump me in the middle of the floor.” “Lucky you,” Megan murmured, her gaze drifting back to the dance floor, eyes alighting on her dark‐haired choice for Santa. Beverly watched Megan go googly‐eyed, and she smiled. It had been a long time since Megan had found a nice man. Maybe this guy wasn’t perfect for her, but he was certainly hot. He might distract her for at least the evening. Just what Beverly was looking for, too…a distraction. Her expectations were high that Jay would be the one to provide just that, and she knew he wouldn’t disappoint. She couldn’t wait for the damn contest
17
Santa Baby by Karen Erickson to finish so she could go grab Jay and drag him back to her place. Or maybe he’d take her to his place. She didn’t care, as long as she went somewhere private where they both could get naked. The announcer started the judging process, the women whooping and hollering as each contestant was announced, shaking Beverly out of her dreamy state. It became painfully aware that Jay was leading in the votes since the screaming was the loudest when his name was called. He grinned and lifted his arms, proudly flexing his biceps, which only caused the crowd to yell even louder. The sound was practically deafening. “He’s going to win,” Megan whispered in her ear. Beverly nodded, watching as Megan suddenly sat up straighter and seemed to evaluate all of the women surrounding them. She’d been so wrapped up in her own thoughts about getting it on with a young hottie that she hadn’t realized her friend was starting her usual hating‐on‐herself routine. “Quit with the self‐doubt, I see it written all over your face.” Megan sighed and shook her head. “How do you always know what I’m thinking? It’s downright freaky.” “I’ve been friends with you for a few years, and to be honest, Megan, your face is like an open book. You’re a terrible liar, and I bet you’re an awful poker player. You can’t keep a straight face to save your life.” That’s one of the things she appreciated best about Megan. She wasn’t a liar, and she always told the truth. Even if it hurt. “Am I that obvious?” Bev nodded. “Oh, yes, my friend. You are very obvious. But don’t let that get you down. I have a feeling your very own Hot Santa kinda likes that quality of yours.” “He doesn’t even know me.” “Stop it! You’re beautiful, you’re sweet and he’s definitely interested. Quit thinking like that.” “Well, we already know your guy is interested.” Beverly wiggled her eyebrows and giggled. “I know. I can’t wait.”
18
Santa Baby by Karen Erickson The room suddenly went quiet, and they both turned their attention to the dance floor. “We have a winner, ladies! Yes, unbelievable but it’s true – our very own Ho Ho Hot Santa 2007 is…” The audience leaned forward like one giant wave in breathless anticipation, and Beverly couldn’t help but do the same. Her heart raced, her breathing grew shallow. Damn it, she really wanted him to win! “Contestant number three, Jay! Ladies, meet your new Hot Santa!” A woman in a tiny red string bikini ran out on stage with a white satin sash, hopping up and down in front of Jay. He bent his head, and she looped it across his chest then pressed a long kiss to his gorgeous mouth. The crowd went crazy. “Bitch,” Bev muttered, her hand curled tight around her beer bottle. Jealousy flared hot and hard in the pit of her stomach. Weird. She didn’t even know the guy. Megan patted her on the arm. “Oh, don’t let that bimbo bug you. She was probably paid to do that.” She knew Megan was right, but she couldn’t help herself. This was definitely an emotion she hadn’t experienced in a long time, if ever. Usually the men fought over her, not the other way around. She wasn’t bragging or anything, but she’d always had her fair pick of men. She wasn’t used to fighting for what she wanted. “Okay, ladies, if you want to meet your Hot Santa, come on down! Jay’s going to grab a table and take pictures with y’all for the next thirty minutes. Mingle with the other contestants too. The line starts here!” Mister Red Shirt the announcer pointed to where he stood. Beverly hopped off her chair and grabbed her purse. “Okay, have fun with your new guy.” Megan’s mouth dropped open. “Wait a minute, that’s it? You’re just going to leave me?” “Well, I figured you’d want to leave me anyway because you hooked up with your own Hot Santa, and besides, we know what I’m trying to do.” She wiggled her eyebrows at Megan and slipped her coat over her arm. “See you tomorrow!”
19
Santa Baby by Karen Erickson She heard Megan’s huff, but she ignored it, eager to plant herself in front of Jay before he forgot about her. They’d brought a table and chair out for him to the edge of the dance floor, and there was already a long line in front of it, the women eager to talk to him. Disappointment filled her as she glanced around the crowd and saw the line was at least thirty women deep. She didn’t want to stand in line like the rest of the groupies just to snare a few seconds to talk with him. She’d rather wait at the bar, have a drink and secretly spy on him as the women threw themselves at him. But what if one of those women interested him more than her? What could she do then? The last thing she wanted to see was Jay walking away from her without a second glance. She accused Megan of having self‐doubt when she was just as bad. “Hey.” Long fingers wrapped around her upper arm, and she turned around to find the announcer staring at her, a questioning look in his eyes. “Are you Beverly?” She nodded, and he let her arm go. “Jay asked me to find you. He wanted to give you a message. He said he was sorry, but he has to appeal to the masses for at least thirty minutes if you don’t mind waiting for him.” “I don’t mind,” Beverly said, sounding breathless even to her own ears. He’d sought her out. He definitely wanted her to stay! Her entire body thrummed with excitement. “You can hang out at the bar. I’ll even throw in a couple of free drinks.” He smiled at her and waved toward the large bar. “I’ll let Jay know you’re waiting for him there.” “Yes, please, that would be great.” Beverly followed the man, Lee, he’d said his name was, to the bar, and he told the guy working behind the counter to give her whatever she wanted on the house. She ordered a vodka and cranberry and turned her barstool to watch Jay work the crowd of women that flanked his table. Somehow he caught her watching him and he smiled, shooting her a sexy wink. Her pussy clenched in response. She was dripping wet, and he hadn’t even touched her yet.
20
Santa Baby by Karen Erickson It was going to be the longest thirty minutes of her life.

Chapter Three Jay was exhausted. Thirty minutes of smiling, talking and taking pictures with scads of women had turned into an hour and he was beat. But he wasn’t too tired to forget the sexy, dark‐haired woman patiently waiting for him at the bar. He’d sent Lee out to find her and make sure she didn’t leave, thank God. He wasn’t about to let his winning the lame title of Ho Ho Hot Santa deter him from getting to spend more time with the most beautiful woman he’d met in a long time. After taking tons of photos with various women and even signing a few autographs, he was glad it was over. Once he’d escaped the mob, he’d quickly changed into jeans and a T‐shirt in the back room and went to search for Beverly at the bar. Anticipation hummed through his body when he spotted her. Those long, black‐clad legs of hers were crossed and her head tossed back as she laughed at something the bartender said. No doubt flirting with her, he thought, jealousy filling him. He needed to go make his claim and get her out of here. Get her alone. “Hey.” Jay touched her slim shoulder, and she turned around, her face lighting up. “Fancy meeting you here,” she murmured, her lips quirked in a saucy smile. “Thanks for waiting. Sorry I couldn’t get away sooner.”
22
Santa Baby by Karen Erickson “No problem. I guess I should give you my congratulations, Hot Santa. Looks like you had quite the fan base.” He shrugged, suddenly embarrassed. “It was no big deal.” “Oh, I think it was a huge deal to some of those ladies.” “Yeah, well, I think they need to get out more if I’m the highlight of their holiday season.” She eyed him up and down, a dark eyebrow rising in question. “I know you’re the highlight of my holiday season.” “Please, I doubt that.” He shook his head, enjoying the banter. He didn’t even want to admit to her just how much of a highlight she was to him this Christmas season. His parents were on a Caribbean cruise for the holiday. His older sister lived across the country with her own growing family. And for the first time in his life, he was about to spend Christmas day all alone. He didn’t look forward to it. “I was hoping you would still be wearing the red shorts. You looked kind of cute in them.” “What, and leave this place wearing just the shorts and nothing else? I’d freeze my ass off.” He didn’t tell her he still wore the damn things underneath his jeans. He thought he’d let her discover that later. When they were all alone. “And what a shame that would be.” Jay chuckled. This woman was definitely a flirt. “Do you want something to drink?” Beverly shook her head. “I’ve had more than enough. Your friend basically opened the bar to me. How about you?” “Nah, I’m fine.” He didn’t want to drink a drop of liquor tonight. He wanted to be completely sober when he took Beverly to his bed. “So do you work here? It seems all of you know each other somehow.” “No, I don’t work here, but Lee is a friend from high school. I work part time at a law firm.” “You want to be a lawyer?”

Santa Baby by Karen Erickson “Yeah, I’m in college right now. I start law school next year.” She shook her head. “Please don’t tell me you’re a frat boy. You’re just a baby.” He was almost offended. “No, I’m not in a fraternity, and I’m definitely not a baby. Women get so offended when guys ask, but I have to know since you made a big deal about it. How old are you?” “I’m thirty‐three.” Jay was surprised. He thought she was in her late twenties, tops. No way in hell had he expected her to say she was ten years older than him. But it really didn’t matter. He was going to fuck her anyway. “Surprised?” He could hear the laughter in her voice. “I don’t think it’s a big deal.” And he didn’t. “Have you ever been with an older woman?” “I can’t say that I have.” “Want to back out now?” “Hell no. Want to come back to my place?” He’d just leased a two‐ story condo with a nice deck and built‐in hot tub a few months ago. And been so busy he’d barely used the hot tub, let alone invited a woman to join him in it. “Sure.” “I have a hot tub.” Crap, that sounded cheesy. “But I don’t have a swimsuit on me.” The look on her face was completely innocent, right down to the batting eyelashes. He leaned in close and could smell her sweet vanilla and cinnamon scent. She reminded him of Christmas cookies. His mouth watered. “I’m sure we could come up with something.” She shook her head, smirking. “I’m sure we could.” “Did you bring your own car, or do you want to ride with me?” “Oh, I have my car. Shall I follow you?” “I think that sounds like a great idea.” * * * * *
24
Santa Baby by Karen Erickson For being so young, it certainly looked like Jay had his shit together. His condo was nice, not bachelor‐like at all. Beverly had expected a run down mess with thrift shop furniture and empty pizza boxes littering the kitchen counters. What she found was a warm, inviting home with a fireplace, comfy couches and an immaculate kitchen a connoisseur would adore. The colors in his home were earthy, dark and masculine, and the redwood deck with the sunken hot tub was to die for. There was even a Christmas tree in the front window, its tiny white lights twinkling merrily at her when she walked up the front porch. They were standing out on the deck after quickly changing their clothes. Jay flicked a switch and the tub lit up, the water starting to froth and bubble. She stared at it for a moment, the white bubbles multiplying, the sound of the water swishing in the tub. She glanced up to find Jay watching her, his green eyes intense, searching. “Don’t tell me you’re having second thoughts.” He smiled and scratched his bare chest. Gooseflesh covered his skin, and she knew he was cold clad in only navy blue swim trunks. Of course, so was she, standing in just an oversized T‐shirt of Jay’s and her panties. The brisk December air whirled around them on a breeze, making the hot tub very inviting. She wished she was climbing into that tub wearing nothing at all, but it was too cold to even consider. She could always take it off once she got in. “Never,” she finally said, dipping her toes into the warm water and kicking it toward him. Jay didn’t waste any time, stepping right into the tub and settling in. He sat in the far corner, his muscled arms spread wide along the rim of the tub, his head tipped back to stare at the stars twinkling in the sky. The frothy bubbles of water jumped in front of his chest, his golden skin glistening from the water, and her mouth dried at the sight. He was a sexy, young hunk of man flesh, and she was an idiot for not joining him in that hot tub, pressing herself against him, and running her hands all over that smooth dark skin.
25
Santa Baby by Karen Erickson Without hesitation, she climbed in, a little gasp escaping her at the sudden difference in temperature. The hot water surrounded her, cradled her in its swirling warmth, and she settled her back against the smooth surface of the tub, close but not too close to Jay. Beverly decided it was good for the soul to be a bit of a tease. “Feels good?” His deep voice washed over her, making her smile. There were many ways she wanted him to make her feel good, but the hot tub would do for now. “Definitely. I could use one of these every night after being on my feet all day.” “Stick with me and that could happen.” He winked at her. Hmm, tempting but totally unbelievable. This was a one night thing, no more, no less. A little Christmas present for herself. She assumed she needed to make that clear. “Don’t you just want to have a little fun? One night and that’s it? That’s all I’m looking for.” Beverly stretched her leg out, brushing the tips of her toes against his knee. He shifted his knee away from her as sure fingers gripped around her ankle and pulled her across the bench seat closer to him. “Absolutely.” He watched her with hooded eyes, his face damp from the misty water surrounding them. His expression was bone meltingly sexy. “Then maybe you should quit talking and start doing something about it.” Her eyebrows rose, her words an unmistakable challenge. She wanted him to take her up on it. Quickly. He caressed her ankle, his fingers sliding up over her calf, smoothing over her knee. She scooted closer, wanting more, her pussy tingling with anticipation, her gaze riveted on his moving fingers. Jay didn’t disappoint. His hand drifted across her thigh, stroking the soft, sensitive skin there, and she hissed. His gaze met hers, those green eyes so intense, sparkling in the dim light. She couldn’t look away, didn’t want to, and when his fingers brushed against the front of her panties, she repressed the cry that wanted to come out. “Am I doing enough about it to your satisfaction, Beverly?”
26
Santa Baby by Karen Erickson She shook her head, her nipples beading against the heavy, damp fabric of her borrowed T‐shirt. His eyes locked on her chest, and she glanced down to see the unmistakable shadow of her nipples beneath the wet white fabric. She shed the shirt, yanked the offending fabric over her head and tossed it onto the deck. It landed with a loud, wet plop, and she smiled at Jay. “I want more,” she said, feeling greedy. He could only stare at her, his gaze now locked on her naked breasts. She sat up straighter, giving him a peek of her hardened nipples. She even touched one with the tip of her index finger. “Like what you see?” Jay nodded, his eyes hungry, his sure fingers rubbing against her panty‐clad pussy in a slow rhythm. He scooted closer to her on the bench, his body brushing against hers, and she leaned into him. “I thought I was going to use the subtle approach, but I don’t think you’d appreciate that,” he murmured, his other arm coming around her shoulders. She shook her head, pressing her fingers against his full lips. “When I see what I want, I don’t waste my time in going after it.” “I think I like that about you.” “I certainly hope so.” He didn’t say anything else, didn’t have to. His mouth descended upon hers, kissing her hungrily, stealing her breath. She opened beneath him, his velvety tongue sweeping into her mouth, his fingers rubbing against her clit. She whimpered against his mouth and spread her legs wider, wanting more. Always wanting more. “Touch me,” she whispered against his insistent lips, her breath ragged. “Really touch me. Please.” His fingers slipped beneath her panties, sank into her wet pussy, and he groaned. “You’re so hot.” Two fingers pumped in and out of her, his thumb grinding against her clit.
27
Santa Baby by Karen Erickson “Hmm, don’t stop.” Her fingers curved around his neck, bringing him down to kiss her, his hand clutching her shoulder while the hand beneath the water worked magic upon her aroused body. Her hips lifted in time to his thrusting while their kiss turned carnal and decadent. Tongues lashing, lips sucking, teeth nibbling, she gasped in surprise when he shifted lower and sucked a nipple into his mouth. And still his fingers pumped inside her, harder now, his thumb playing with her clit in the most divine way. She let herself go, let the water wash over her naked skin, gave in to the warmth of Jay’s mouth on her nipple and the savage thrusting of his thick fingers. His hard cock brushed against her leg, making her wonder where his swim trunks had gone, and she reached out, wrapping her fingers neatly around his length. Good lord, he was long. And thick. She swore her pussy grew wetter at the discovery. “Ah, Beverly.” He groaned, thrusting against her grip in the subtlest of movements, and she squeezed him, sliding her fingers up and down, stroking him. He grew harder within her grip. “Subtle is overrated.” Her orgasm was already starting, making her belly tremble and her entire body tense. She hung on the edge, worked toward it, her hips moving faster against his hand, and then it burst free, her clit throbbing, her inner walls clenching and releasing around Jay’s fingers. A keening cry escaped from her, her hand slipping away from his cock, too overcome to do anything else but slump against the back of the tub and let the tremors wrack her body until her orgasm subsided. “Fuck me,” he muttered when she was done. Her eyes slid open and she watched him shake his head in what could only be amazement. She couldn’t help but smile. “I plan on doing that as soon as we get out of this tub.” “What are we waiting for? We could fuck right here.” He grabbed her hand and placed it over his crotch. The insistent head of his cock bumped against her palm, and she curved her hand around him. “Right now.” “Condom?”
28
Santa Baby by Karen Erickson He smiled, the sight of it making her tremble. It amazed her yet again that she was naked in a hot tub with this man. That he had just given her the best orgasm of her life with his fingers. Jay reached behind him, grabbed at something then waved the tiny package in front of her. “I’m like a boy scout. Always prepared.” She laughed. “You’re not like any boy scout I’ve ever seen.” Quickly he tore at the package, sheathed himself with the condom then grabbed her around the waist, hauling her on top of him. She straddled him, her knees on either side of his lean hips, her pussy brushing against his cock. Resting her hands on his shoulders, she leaned into him and brushed her breasts across his face. He flashed a devilish grin and captured a nipple between his teeth, making her gasp. He pressed down the slightest bit, creating a pleasure‐ pain sensation that made her pussy flood with wetness and her entire body tingle. His lips wrapped around her nipple, drawing it into his hot mouth, and with one sure movement he filled her, his thick cock nestling deep inside her body. Beverly stilled, absorbing the moment, absorbing him. She watched him, watched as he sucked first one nipple then the other into his mouth, so intent on her pleasure, on her enjoyment. She wrapped her arms around his neck, her fingers playing with his short hair, and she pressed her face against the top of his head. “You’re so tight,” he said, thrusting up against her. “And you’re so big.” She began to ride him, sliding up and down his thick length, the bubbling of the water keeping her buoyant. His hands wrapped around her hips, guiding her, lifting her up and down on his cock, and they moved in unison, both of them too eager to savor it, both of them working toward the inevitable moment. Her second orgasm in nearly as many minutes came upon her quickly, shocking her. She braced herself against him, moving faster, electric currents sparking across her skin at the delicious sensation of his cock sliding in and out of her body, faster and faster, harder and harder. Then she shouted, his name dropping from her lips as the climax washed over her, making her entire body quake. He thrust once, twice, a third
29
Santa Baby by Karen Erickson time before he pushed against her and came, his face strained, his mouth hanging open. A guttural moan sounded from deep inside him, and she clutched him close to her, smoothing her hands over his back as he emptied himself. They disentangled themselves from each other slowly, Jay yanking the used condom off and tossing it into the trash can nearby. The water bubbled against their wrinkling bodies, and she rubbed her hands up and down her arms to ward off the impending chill. Somehow the night had grown even colder. Their eyes met, and she looked away first, inexplicably embarrassed. The moment she’d just shared with Jay was one of the most intimate she’d ever experienced before with a man, and it made her a little uncomfortable. More than anything, it unsettled her, made her nervous. “We should probably go inside.” Beverly nodded, finally looking at him. He watched her, his expression guarded, maybe even a little confused. “Yes, it’s getting cold.” She stood, and he waved for her to sit back down, climbing out of the tub. The water sluiced off his magnificent body, his ass firm, his legs well muscled and covered with curling dark blond hair. She watched as he grabbed two large towels, wrapping one around his waist, much to her disappointment. He offered his hand to her and she took it, climbing out of the tub to stand next to him as he wrapped the towel around her. “Better?” He smiled tentatively, his hands rubbing the towel against her skin tenderly, drying her. Beverly nodded and smiled back, touched by the sweet way he was treating her. “Yes, thank you.” His expression grew somber, his eyes darkening, reminding her of a swirling summer storm. “Beverly, please say you’ll stay the night. I…don’t want to be alone.” Why did his admission tug at her heart strings? Because of the fact that he was so brutally honest? Maybe it’s because you don’t want to be alone, either.
30
Santa Baby by Karen Erickson She blinked, trying to ignore her overwhelming emotions, but there was no use. “I’ll stay the night, Jay.” “Good.” He smiled, the sight of it almost heartbreaking. “You won’t regret it.”

Chapter Four Jay bounded up the stairs that led to Beverly’s apartment, whistling “Silver Bells” of all things. He normally didn’t give two shits about Christmas carols, but tonight he definitely had the holiday spirit. The night air was bitterly cold, the wind stinging and biting against his cheeks, and he tucked his face into the collar of his thick coat. Knocking on her door, he hoped she wouldn’t take too long. It was Christmas Eve, and she had invited him to her place for dinner after the store closed. Thankful he wasn’t spending the holiday alone, he’d said yes before she’d been able to get the full question out, causing her to laugh and her dark brown eyes to sparkle with amusement and something else he couldn’t quite figure out. He’d spent every day with her since the night they met at the Hot Santa contest. Talking, eating, laughing, exploring each other’s bodies. He swore he’d never had more sex in his life. Not even that time when he went away with college buddies for spring break in Florida and he fucked every cute blonde that looked in his direction. No, he should be exhausted, worn out, sick of spending time with her. That’s how he’d always felt in the past. Instead, he was eager to see her, like a puppy with a new owner, always wanting to please, always wanting to spend time with his new master. He was, quite simply, owned by Beverly. She had him locked and in her possession, and she didn’t even know it. His body, his mind and his heart.
32
Santa Baby by Karen Erickson He wanted to give it all to her. Jay also knew that if he even hinted at that, he would scare the shit out of her. The door swung open, and he didn’t even bother saying hello before barging in and slamming the door behind him. Beverly shook her head and watched as he took off his jacket and dumped it on the chair closest to the door. “Wow, no hi, no good evening, not even a Merry Christmas.” Beverly watched him, an amused expression on her face, and he noticed her dark hair was extra spiky tonight. For a man who’d always preferred the classic blonde in the past, he liked the fact that she went so far across the spectrum of his normal preferences. She was the exact opposite of what he normally went for. She was perfect for him. “Hey.” He wrapped his arms around her slim waist and brought her close, pressing a kiss to the tip of her pert nose then her mouth. Her lips softened beneath his, and he pulled her closer, deepening the kiss. Just one touch and his cock stiffened behind the fly of his jeans, his entire body yearning for her. Shit, he had it bad, bad, bad. “You’re freezing.” Beverly ran her hands up and down his back, and he shivered at her caress. “That’s why I ran in here. I couldn’t take it out there anymore.” She released her hold on him and headed toward the kitchen. He followed her, his nose lifting in the air, delicious scents surrounding him as he entered the room. His stomach growled in agreement. “Yeah, it got super cold right when the sun went down. It’s going to be a cold Christmas.” Not for him, it wouldn’t be. A cold Christmas by his definition was one spent alone with no family, no friends, no one at all. His Christmas as of a few days ago was going to be a cold one. With Beverly by his side, it wouldn’t be anymore. And for that, he was thankful. “So what are you making for dinner?”
33
Santa Baby by Karen Erickson “Roast chicken, potatoes, green beans, rolls.” She smiled and even appeared a bit embarrassed. “No big deal.” It was a huge deal to him. He couldn’t remember the last time he’d had a home‐cooked meal. He had a nice kitchen, but that didn’t mean he used it. Well, he used the microwave quite frequently, but that was about it as far as his culinary skills went. “It sounds wonderful.” He kissed her again, unable to help himself. “I can’t wait, I’m starved.” Beverly grimaced. “I’m sorry you had to wait so long, but I had to work until closing and I couldn’t get out of it. Thank God they give us Christmas day off.” “I don’t mind waiting.” He sat down on the barstool at her kitchen counter and took the glass of red wine that she offered. He sipped from it, watching her bustle around the kitchen preparing their dinner. The entire scene felt homey, comfortable, and his entire body suffused with warmth. It all felt so right, so real. Fuck, he couldn’t believe he was thinking this way. He’d known the woman for three days! He was only twenty‐three years old! How did he know this was the woman for him? For life? His gut told him she was, though. “Do you happen to know Drew? He was in the Hot Santa contest with you.” He set the glass of wine down on the counter, thankful for the distraction. “Yeah, I know Drew. He’s the manager of Shenanigan’s. Why?” A twinge of jealousy suddenly overcame him. No way had Drew asked Beverly out. Had he? “My friend Megan, she’s the one who came with me that night, she’s well, hooked up with Drew, I guess.” Beverly shook her head and opened the oven, pulled out the pan filled with a giant chicken and various vegetables surrounding it, and set it on the stovetop. “Is he a good guy? He seems like it.” Relief filled him. “Yeah, he’s a great guy. Smart, good head on his shoulders, not a player. At least, that I’ve ever seen.”
34
Santa Baby by Karen Erickson “Are you player, Jay?” Beverly kept her eyes glued to her pan of chicken and didn’t turn around to face him. She couldn’t help but ask him. She had to know if she was just another conquest that he happened to hang around with for a little longer since it was Christmas. Maybe he felt sorry for her. Maybe he didn’t know how to let her down easy. The feelings she had for him were ridiculous, and she’d tried to fight them down. But they kept rearing their insistent heads, clamoring for her to admit them to Jay. She liked him. A lot. He was smart, ambitious, funny. He was thoughtful, caring and the tender way he held her in his arms when they fell asleep nearly made tears come to her eyes. “I don’t have time to be a player.” Beverly turned around, her gaze meeting his. “You picked me up at a bar.” He smiled. “I think we picked each other up.” She shrugged, frustrated. “You know what I mean. I know I said I wanted this to be a one night thing, but we’ve blown that out of the water. We’ve spent every day together since we’ve met. Is that okay to you? Are you doing this because you feel sorry for me or something?” At least he had the decency to look shocked. His mouth dropped open, and those beautiful eyes of his widened. “Feel sorry for you? What the hell are you talking about?” She braced her hands against the edge of the kitchen counter, preparing herself for the face off. Or the brush off at the very least. “You know, it’s Christmas, the lonely, single, older woman. You don’t want to dump me for fear of having my suicide on your hands or whatever.” Jay seemed frozen, his gaze glued to her face, and then he tipped his head back and began to chuckle. Frustration rose within her, and she had the urge to smack him. “Don’t laugh at me!” “I’m not laughing at you, baby, I’m laughing at your absurd suggestion. You think I feel sorry for you? I’m the one who’s all alone this Christmas season. If anyone needs a sympathy fuck, I guess it’s me.”
35
Santa Baby by Karen Erickson “So is that all this is? A sympathy fuck?” She nibbled on her lower lip, her stomach twisted in knots. She was scared to face the truth. He stood and came around the counter to join her in the kitchen. He stood in front of her, his gaze sincere, his expression serious. Deadly serious. “You’re a fool if you believe what’s happening between us is just a sympathy fuck, Beverly. I just haven’t said anything because I was afraid I’d scare you away. You were the one, after all, who made a big deal about how casual this all was.” She gulped and decided to admit the truth. “This isn’t casual for me anymore.” A slow smile spread across his handsome face, and the knots in her stomach slowly unfurled. “It isn’t casual for me either.” “I want us to see more of each other.” “I do, too.” “I want you to come with me to my parents’ house tomorrow for breakfast. Maybe even the entire day. Christmas is a big day at our house.” She paused, grabbed his hands and squeezed them tight. “It’s going to be awful. My father will ask you what your intentions are for me, and my mother will ask me when am I going to have your baby.” He laughed and yanked her into his arms, holding her close. She pressed her cheek against his chest, felt the thundering beat of his heart, and she closed her eyes, overwhelmed. “I’ll figure out something to say, don’t worry.” Her arms slipped around his waist, and she snuggled closer. “I don’t have a Christmas gift for you. I thought about buying you something at the store this afternoon, but I didn’t want to freak you out.” “You’re my Christmas gift.” His hand smoothed over her short hair, his lips lingering on her forehead in a sweet kiss. “And besides, I didn’t get you anything either.” She giggled. “You’re my Christmas gift, too, then.” A rumbling suddenly started low in his stomach, and she pulled away from him, shaking her head. “I’m so sorry, I didn’t even think and I’ve been starving you. Come on, dinner’s almost ready, you can sit down at the table.”
36
Santa Baby by Karen Erickson He grabbed her hand before she could go back to the stove, causing her to turn around and face him. “Thank you, Beverly, for making this my best Christmas ever.” “It isn’t even Christmas yet.” “That doesn’t matter. I already know it’s going to be the best Christmas I’ve ever had. Because of you.” Her cheeks heated. It was going to be so easy to fall in love with this man.

Chapter Five “I told you it was going to be awful.” Beverly couldn’t help the giggle that escaped from her, and she touched her fingers to her lips, trying to silence herself. It didn’t work. She giggled some more, and Jay could only shake his head. “Your mother is relentless. She made me promise if we were to stay together that I must impregnate you within the next year because, and I quote, you’re not getting any younger.” Her eyes widened, and another set of fresh giggles burst forth. “She really said that to you? I’m so sorry.” “I almost wanted to yell at her for insulting you, but I kept my mouth shut.” He glanced about the quiet home office that Beverly had dragged him into to get away from her family, and stared out the window for a moment. The neighborhood was lit up with Christmas lights, a dazzling display her father got into every year like a giant competition with the neighbors. Who had the best decorated house? She couldn’t even tell since they were all so decked out. They looked exactly the same to her. “You’re such a sweetheart, always wanting to defend my honor.” “You’re not old.” He kissed her, his tongue playing a teasing retreat against her lips and inside her mouth. “You’re only as old as you feel.” She had no comment for that one and could only appreciate his defending her. “We won’t have to see them again until Easter, if that makes you feel any better.”
38
Santa Baby by Karen Erickson His eyes warmed, and he kissed her again. “They’re really not that bad.” “They’re awful!” They embraced in front of the window, the glow of the Christmas lights casting multicolored shadows across their faces, the soft sound of their lips connecting again and again the only thing filling the room. Beverly knew she’d never forget this moment, the first time she brought Jay to meet her family. If someone had told her the night of the Hot Santa contest that she would bring him to her family’s house for the holiday, she would’ve laughed in their face. Now she couldn’t imagine life without him. It had happened that fast, felt that real. She’d never been a believer of love at first sight, but she was going to have to change her tune. If it was the magic of Christmas, then so be it. She was a believer. “Are you ready to go?” He nodded, his arms tightening around her. “I can’t wait to get you into bed and make love to you.” “I was hoping you’d do me underneath the Christmas tree. Your Christmas tree, by the window. Maybe someone will see.” She wiggled her eyebrows at him, rubbing her lower body against his instantly responding crotch. “Well, I could do that too, if that’s what you want. You dirty girl.” Jay winked at her. “Oh, it’s definitely what I want. And yes, I am a dirty girl. Your dirty girl.” Beverly sealed her statement with a kiss. This was definitely the best Christmas she’d ever had.
