On a wintry night in Drayzlake Forest, Princess Abigail stepped down from her carriage and looked up at the full moon. A light breeze whipped around her and pushed her hair back from her face. She’d worn her chocolate-colored curls loose tonight. The wolf had requested it the last time they’d been together. I want to trail my fingers through your hair while I fuck you, he’d said before she’d left the cave to return to the castle.I want to bend you over and clutch those silken strands as I thrust my cock inside your tight little cunt . Heat bloomed in her cheeks at the memory. Coarse words dripped from his devil mouth like honey. A year ago, she hadn’t known what he was referring to when he mentionedpussy orcock orfuck . Now, she understood and the knowledge had wet heat pooling between her thighs.

What would her soon-to-be-prince think if he knew his future wife engaged in midnight dalliances with a wolf every full moon? “Princess?” Abigail blinked out of her thoughts and glanced at Jacintha, the white witch who accompanied her on these monthly trips into the woods. “I’m ready.” The buxom redhead nodded and led her slowly through the thick foliage. Branches and nettles tugged at Abigail’s dress and scratched her skin through the woolen material. She glanced up at the moon, which was now partly covered by a wisp of cloud, although its light still shone bright over the forest. A wolf howled in the distance, the sound cutting through the stillness of the night. She tightened her fingers around Jacintha’s soft hand. Since it was a full moon, the wolves would be in their beastly form. The witch would keep her safe from any danger, but fear still clawed at her throat when she remembered the attack. A year ago, a wolf had crossed the Divide, which separated the wolves from the humans, and had bitten her in the castle gardens. As wolven blood now tainted her own, her body required a mate every full moon to keep her alive. As they started up the hill toward the wolf’s cave, the dirt beneath her feet became gravelly stones. Her pulse quickened and she wet her lips, eyeing the cave that lay so close.Only a few more feet to go . “You are excited, I believe,” Jacintha noted in a tone that was soft and lilting. She found Abigail’s eyes, and she inclined her head, a smile playing on her full lips. “It is no sin, Princess, to anticipate what lies before you.” Abigail lowered her eyes from Jacintha’s knowing gaze, noticing, not for the first time, how encouraging Jacintha always seemed when it came to this situation. Almost as if shewanted Abigail to enjoy her time with the wolf. It was actually because of Jacintha that this routine had been put in place. After the attack, the kingdom had been on the brink of a civil war, but Jacintha had handled negotiations between King Frederick and Alpha Lyson until they reached an agreement. The humans would not declare war on the wolves as long as they provided a mate for Abigail on every full moon. Too soon, they stood before the rocky entrance to the cave. Abigail pressed her lips together as a sudden onslaught of lust ripped through her body, and then she took the glowing key from Jacintha’s hand. The wolf would be the only one of his kind to be in human form tonight, and it was all because of the witch’s magic. The shackles holding the wolf were magically reinforced to keep him from changing as the full moon rose. Once the moon was in the sky, the urge to change form passed, and it was safe to unlock him. Only this key could do it. Gripping the enchanted key in her sweaty palm, she left Jacintha behind and let darkness enclose her. She didn’t need to see what was in front of her to know where she was going. By now, she knew the twists and turns of this cave like the back of her very own hand. As she walked, she strained to hear anything, but he never made a sound until they were face-to-face. Then, as she unlocked his shackles, he greeted her, making inappropriate conversation that was sometimes somber and sometimes teasing, depending on his mood. She hadn’t the faintest idea what affected these changes in spirit. He was two personalities wrapped within one body. One hard, powerful body.

She turned right at the first sharp corner and the soft glow of firelight came into sight. The flickering on the cave walls acted like a beacon. Her steps grew quicker, sharper with the sudden increase of desire, and her anxiety faded, left behind with all thoughts of Jacintha and her father and princesslike behavior. She wasn’t here to play the good little royal. No. She was here to mate. She paused at the final corner and breathed deeply through her nose. Her breasts rose and fell, and she willed strength into her shaking legs. What would he do to her tonight? What would he say? She gave her head a quick shake. What does it matter what he does or says ? He was just a beast, and she was here for one reason and one reason only -- release. Why did her mind and body always insist on making more of it? Rolling back her shoulders, she rounded the corner, and her breath caught in her throat at the sight of him. Heavy chains locked the beast against the rocky wall, holding back his muscular arms, leaving him bare to her gaze. His head was bowed, and the disheveled black hair that reached his shoulders fell forward, casting his face in shadow. Abigail’s hungry eyes roamed the high cheekbones and the dark stubble covering his strong jaw, and she longed to feel the short hairs graze her fingertips. Then she dropped her gaze to his delectable body and bit back a moan as wet heat flooded her pussy. His nakedness filled her vision, stole her breath. How large he was. Those broad shoulders, so wide and squared, made her knees tremble. She itched to reach out and touch the wall of his chest, to feel the muscles bunch beneath his smooth, golden skin. She shook her head in amazement. No matter how many times she saw him naked and powerless and waiting to fuck her, the sight still sucked the strength from her limbs. Taking a step closer, she noticed how his skin glistened with sweat, and she ached to slide against him. He had told her once that the sweat and the tension in his muscles were the result of the exertion it took to resist the change as a full moon rose in the sky. She didn’t know much about the wolven people, but she knew it required a lot of power to remain in the form of a man when the full moon called, even with the help of Jacintha’s shackles. Yes, you are a powerful being, aren’t you, Wolf? Her eyes followed the trail of dark hair that reached from his navel to his groin and she licked her lips. The long, thick cock jutting from his body proved that power. That one organ held the means to turn her into a quivering, screaming puddle of desire if he so wished it. The clang of metal on metal made her jerk backward. Feeling awkward and clumsy, she looked up and found him watching her from beneath hooded lids, a wicked smile quirking the corner of his mouth. He tilted his head to the chains he’d rattled. “I needed to catch your attention, Princess. You appeared quite entranced by my cock.” The coarse words sent a bolt of wet desire straight to her pussy. She straightened her shoulders and tried to appear unaffected, but she was certain the wolf hadn’t missed how her nipples strained against the front of her dress. How could he when they throbbed so hard?

“You are late, Princess.” She narrowed her eyes at his insolence. “I am not late. An hour has not passed since the moon peaked.” He shrugged, making the chains clank again. “Perhaps my anticipation of your arrival made the wait seem longer.” She swallowed hard. Why was it that he never made any effort to hide how much he enjoyed their trysts? Surely, he could not take much pleasure from a human? Another thought crossed her mind and she frowned. Perhaps, his pleasure lay in her humiliation. Seeing the daughter of the King of Drayzlake bow to a wolf…yes, she was quite certain that was why he enjoyed it so immensely. Her scowl deepened in annoyance, but when she glanced down at his cock again, her clit jumped between her legs, chasing all thoughts of the wolf’s motives from her mind. “The last time we saw one other, I told you to come to me naked.” She pursed her lips.Ah, so you’re in one of your wry moods tonight . “I don’t think the King would approve of his daughter traveling naked through the Drayzlake Forest on the night of a full moon.” The wolf’s bark of laughter echoed in the cave, and the rich sound warmed her blood, relaxing the tight knot in her belly. He was far less intimidating when he laughed. “No, I don’t suppose he would.” He lifted his head fully and fixed her with his gaze. His pupils were fully dilated and were rimmed by narrow bands of silver. How could an animal like him possess such mesmerizing eyes? “Come closer, Beauty,” he coaxed, using the pet name he always called her. “You are too far away.” His words were drenched in intimacy, and her mind spiraled into images of their naked bodies writhing on the cave floor. She tore her gaze from his and stared down at the ground. Go to him, her body screamed, but a flush of nerves rooted her feet to the spot. The feelings the wolf aroused within her still left her unsettled, even after all these months. He stole her control over her own body. Just the sound of his voice flooded her core with wet heat. It wasn’t proper. His low chuckle cleared all thoughts of propriety from her mind. She raised her head and met the wicked humor dancing in his black gaze. “What amuses you, Wolf?” He cocked a brow. “We have played this out for the past year, Beauty, but it seems you are still afraid of me.” Her eyes widened and she crossed her arms over her breasts as pride surged through her.Afraid? Of him? Arrogant animal. “You donot scare me,” she stated clearly. To prove her point, she marched forward and stopped only a hair’s breadth from his erect cock. “Well, then, forgive me.” He dipped his head, eyes still holding hers. “It was my mistake.”

He was mocking her. She heard it in his lilting tone, and she saw it in his glinting eyes. She lifted her chin and slipped the key to the shackles into her pocket.There. I’ll show you that nobody laughs at a princess. The laughter in his eyes died as she put away the key, and satisfied that she’d unnerved him, she arched a brow. His gaze darted between her and her pocket. “Beauty --” “What is it, Wolf?” His eyes narrowed. “Unlock me.” She tipped her head to the side, studying the tightness in his angular face. “No.” “No?” He gave a low laugh, a dark sound that made her pussy clench. “You wish to stand here all night and watch me, is that it?” Feeling slightly silly, she almost dropped her gaze to the floor. But why should I feel silly ? she asked herself, pride forcing its way to the forefront again. He always had it his way, giving her instructions to follow as if she were his slave rather than the Princess of Drayzlake. She was tired of letting him decide where to touch her skin and the pace at which to fuck her. They had been doing this every month for the last year. She could do it; she could take control. It would hardly be appropriate behavior for a princess, but nobody would ever have to know. Yes, she decided. Tonight, she would lead the way. But how? From the twinkle in his eyes, she guessed he knew her dilemma. “Is there a problem?” She pursed her lips and resisted the urge to snap at him. “Not at all.” “Really? Have you any ideas on how we should pass the time while we wait for you to unlock me?” Not even one. She lifted her chin. “Do you?” “I have many.” He laughed softly, then looked pointedly at the cock that thrust at her from between his legs. “But I am in no doubt that you would faint if you heard them.” Faint? What does he think I am, some kind of weak-willed lady-in-waiting with a penchant for smelling salts ? Abigail harrumphed and tried to think of something. If he wasn’t going to give her a starting point, she’d just have to guess. Looking down at his cock, she admired the thickness and the plum-red color. It felt so good pushing inside her body, stretching her open. The beast had always held her arms above her head or behind her

back while he fucked her, never giving her the chance to touch him. What would it feel like in her hand? She swallowed and looked up at the wolf’s face. A dare sparked in his silver eyes, and a smug smile curved his lips. She’d wipe that smile off his face if it was the last thing she did. A bolt of courage shot through her and taking a breath, she reached down and curled her fingers around his cock. His eyes widened, and he made a strangled sound in his throat. She looked back at his cock and felt slightly strangled too as she moved her grip up and down his shaft. Oh, he felt glorious -- soft, velvety skin stretched tight over a core of steel. The heat of him burned into her skin, setting fire to her blood. He pulsed hard against her palm in a rhythm that echoed the throb between her legs. She squeezed her legs together, eyes fixed on his cock. She started to move her hand faster, up and down his length, and watched in amazement as a drop of pearly liquid appeared on the broad head. She swiped her thumb over it, massaging the bead into his velvety skin. The wolf hissed through his teeth. “Beauty,” he started again, his voice harsh and tight, “be a good little princess and unlock the chains.” She lifted her gaze to his face and the delicate muscles of her sex contracted in excitement. He was losing control. His jaw had tightened, his eyes were black as thunder, and his breath came in hard, sharp pants. “I don’t think I will unlock you,” she said calmly, watching the tic begin to pulse at the base of his neck. How was it that she, an inexperienced young girl, could instill such desire in a wolf? She could arouse him, she could make him lose his breath, lose control. She looked down at his cock again and licked her lips.Yes, Wolf, I know exactly what will drive you over the edge. Without saying a word, she sank to her knees and released his cock from her grip. So close to him, she felt almost giddy as the smell of his sex, musky and potently male, flooded her senses. This certainly wasn’t how a princess was supposed to behave and the excitement of rebelling against society’s expectations added an edge to her desire. She wanted to go even further. Looking at his impressive size, she smiled as a wicked thought entered her head. How will he taste? She circled the base of his cock with both hands, then looked up at his face. He watched her through heavy-lidded eyes, a new dare flickering in his gaze. Obviously, he wasn’t certain she’d go through with it. Her smile widened and she noted how his eyes flashed at the curve of her lips. He didn’t know how badly she wanted to taste him. Holding his gaze, she darted out her tongue and swiped it over the ridged head of his cock, tasting his salty essence. He squeezed his eyes shut at her first taste and let out a low groan. Excitement hummed in her blood at his reaction. She turned her attention fully to his cock, opening her mouth, and moving her lips over his shaft. Slowly at first, testing herself to see how much of him she could take. Then, more confident, she took him deeper until her nose met the coarse hair of his groin. He tasted

earthy and male, and he filled her mouth so beautifully, rasping over her tongue and grazing the insides of her cheeks. When the head nudged the back of her throat, she began to suck. She moved her lips up and down his shaft in a rhythm that increased with each stroke, swirling her tongue around the broad head and tasting his seed. His groans of pleasure, guttural sounds that made her blood sing, filled her ears. Feeling and seeing and tasting what she did to him -- a heady combination of lust and power exploded in her veins. Every inch of her skin tingled, alive with desire. Her undergarments were damp with her arousal. She twisted her hands around the base of his cock, sucking him and teasing him relentlessly with her mouth. Looking up at the wolf again, she scraped the edge of her teeth slowly along the underside of his cock. He ground his jaw, his face tight with desperation. He glanced down and met her eyes. Even in his state of tortured bliss, his gaze still held a spark of amusement. He knew how much she was enjoying this. In the moment, she couldn’t care less what he thought of her. With the tip of her tongue, she drew little circles along his cock and fought the urge to giggle her excitement when he groaned and pushed his hips into her face. “Princess,” he growled in a voice as tight as the muscles in his abdomen. “Princess, please .” His rasping plea made her squirm, and when his hips started to pump, her sense of power reached dizzying heights. She welcomed him into her mouth and throat, laving his scorching skin with her tongue. His thrusts grew erratic, sharp, and short, and his urgency told her he was nearing the edge. Knowing how close he was made her suck harder. Then he erupted in her mouth, his hot seed spilling over her tongue in one last jerk of his hips. His roar of satisfaction echoed in the cave, and she wondered if Jacintha heard it. The thought brought no shame. In fact, knowing there was a witness to the wolf’s loss of control only served to increase her excitement. Jacintha faded to the back of Abigail’s mind as she swallowed the wolf’s release greedily, relishing each salty drop. Her pulse raced, and her heart pounded beneath her breast. Between her thighs, her clit ached, and her pussy clenched around air. When she rose to her feet and met his silver eyes, her need to have him fill her overwhelmed her senses and stole her breath. Staring up at him, she found his expression unreadable. Was he pleased? Shocked by what she had done? Her skin heated, and she bit her lip.Why should I care what he thinks? He is just a beast. But she did care. Painfully so. The sense of power she’d experienced vanished, replaced with unease that made her stomach roll. What on earth should she do next? Chapter Two
Stavros watched in silence as a variety of emotions flickered across the young girl’s beautiful face. Power, uncertainty, lust, fear -- they all lay in the depths of her green eyes.

Her emotions seemed to settle on fear, and he narrowed his gaze. What was she afraid of? Not him, surely. As she continued to look up at him with vulnerable eyes, still on her knees, he understood.Ah. She’s afraid of herself. “Are you feeling all right?” She blinked at him, her eyes clearing at his inquiry. “Of course.” “Good.” He fought the urge to smile at her need to hide her emotions from him. She’d enjoyed wielding power over his body, sucking and licking him with an eagerness he’d never felt from any other of his conquests. No matter how hard she tried to act the part of a calm, serene princess, he would never forget that. Still studying her carefully, he tipped his head to the side. She’d performed so well that he’d wondered if she’d done it for his brother and the bastard hadn’t told him. But her slight tremble and the vulnerability in those wide, green eyes assured him that his cock had been the first. He suppressed a grin at the thought of telling Caine who would damn near explode with jealousy. Right now, he needed to concentrate on the task at hand. He had a princess to fuck. He glanced down at his cock, then returned his gaze to hers, letting a slow smile curve his lips. “I never suspected you possessed such a talent.” Her full red lips parted slightly and she shook her head. “Neither did I,” she admitted softly. After speaking, she looked at the ground, and he knew she was self-conscious of her breathy tones. Every time she came here, she visibly tried to hide her desire for him, and each time, she failed miserably. “Did you enjoy sucking my cock?” he asked teasingly, lifting an eyebrow, knowing full well that the answer was yes. She reddened further and gave her head a quick toss, making her mahogany curls dance around her shoulders. Damn, she was a sight to behold. He pulled his wrists forward, and the chains clinked together. Needing to hear her say it, he pressed her. “Did you?” She lifted her chin, her dark eyes flashing. “Yes,” she whispered. “I did.” Her throaty answer sent blood rushing straight to his groin and his cock jerked between his legs, fully erect again. “What would you like to do now, Beauty?” The delicate flare of her nostrils told him he was pushing it, but he didn’t give a damn. He and Caine had waited long enough for her to engage fully in these activities. She was no virgin. It was time for her to accept the fact and embrace her sexuality, rather than hide from it. When she didn’t reply, he repeated the question. “What would you like to do now?”

Still, she remained silent. Although, the tight peaks of her nipples and the rapid rise and fall of her breasts told him exactly what she desired. “We won’t doanything until I hear you say it,” he told her calmly. “What do you want me to say?” The question spilled from her lips in a breathy rush that made his balls ache. “The words, Beauty. Say thewords .” Her eyes widened, then dropped to his cock. He could almost hear the wheels of her brain turning as she considered his request. Goddammit, all she has to do is ask. When she met his gaze again, her eyes flashed fire. She swallowed, then parted the lips that had caressed his cock so eagerly only minutes ago. “I want you to --” At her pause, he felt his patience wear thin. “Yes?” “I want you to” -- she closed her eyes and her voice dropped to a whisper as she said what he needed to hear -- “fuck me. I want you to…fuck me.” Her softly spoken words set fire to his blood, and white-hot lust surged in his veins and straight to the base of his cock. He swelled further, and the throbbing increased. Easy, Stavros, or you’ll fucking burst. Garnering for some control, he tightened the muscles in his stomach and thighs, then nodded. “Good girl, Beauty. Now take off your dress.” She followed his instruction with shaking fingers and unbuttoned the front of her dress until the gray material pooled at her feet. Then she got to work on her corset and knickers, and his cock hardened further with every inch of bare flesh she revealed. When she stood naked before him, he drank in the glorious sight. In the firelight, her skin appeared golden, and he knew from experience that running a hand over her flesh felt like liquid satin flowing through his fingers. Juicy red nipples topped full, firm breasts, and he ached to pull them into his mouth and suckle them as she had sucked his cock earlier. Her waist was narrow, and her hips flared to perfectly rounded thighs. Those thighs framed her soft mound, which was covered by silky, dark curls, and he could see from where he stood that her arousal glistened at the tops of her inner thighs. He ran his tongue over his lips, and his cock jerked hard. He needed to get out of these chains so he could push those legs open and find her honeyed pussy with his fingers and mouth. “Beauty,” he rasped, desperately clinging to his last threads of control. “The key. Get the key.” She hesitated for a second as if his words hadn’t sunk in, then grabbed her dress from the ground and fumbled in the pocket. Finally, she retrieved the key, and with the piece of glowing silver in her hand, she

stepped forward until her body grazed his. Her stiff nipples brushed his chest, and his cock pressed into the soft flesh of her belly. He hissed out a breath at the contact. The lock clicked and he nearly groaned his relief as the cuffs opened and the chains fell back against the wall. For a second, he remained still, absorbing the sensation of her sweet body pressed against his. Then, in one swift move, he picked her up, wrapped her legs around his hips, and carried her forward until her back met the opposite wall. Wild, hungry eyes stared into his, their pupils dilated so wide that her eyes appeared black. He positioned himself at her entrance, finding her wet and ready. “Say it for me. One more time.” She rocked her hips forward and the slippery wetness of her cunt found his cock. “Fuck me.” She gasped. “Please, Wolf, fuck me.” On her last word, he thrust into her tight, slick pussy and let out a low groan as her muscles tensed around him. He stilled inside her and, looking into her face, groaned again at the sight of her parted lips and closed eyes. “Damn, I’ll never get enough of you,” he whispered, withdrawing slowly before slamming forward again, this time sinking all the way to the hilt. Her raw cry echoed in the cave as her pussy started to quake. He dug his fingers into her hips and clenched his jaw in an effort to hold off his own orgasm, and when he thought he could move inside her again without coming, he started a slow rhythm, thrusting into her spasms and relishing the feel of wet pussy gripping his cock. As her first climax faded, he increased the pace, driving inside her tight sheath with all his might. Her pussy swallowed him whole, and the silky, soft flesh caressed every ridge of his cock. Lowering his head to one of Abigail’s tempting breasts, he pulled the ripe nipple into his mouth and sucked. Her fingers curled in his hair, and her moans of pleasure had his balls tightening beneath his dick. “You like it when I do this?” Her flesh muffled his voice, but he knew she heard as her fingers tightened in his hair, and she gave an answering whimper of approval. He continued to lave his tongue over her nipple, suckling at the bud until it pressed against the roof of his mouth. It seemed the more he fucked her, the more he wanted her. With every thrust, his pace got faster, harder. Relishing the way her cunt squeezed him, he sank his cock into her over and over. Her precious prince would never fuck her like this. He’d never make her scream and buck in his arms. Stavros smirked, moved his head to the valley between her breasts, and breathed her in. “I wanted to extend my well wishes,” he muttered against her flesh. Her only response was a strangled moan, her mind obviously too focused on their mating to decipher his words. He lifted his head and looked into her face. Her eyes were squeezed shut, and her lower lip was caught between her teeth. Locking the muscles in his thighs, he forced himself to slow the pace. “I hear you are to be married, my lady,” he said softly. “Congratulations on your engagement.” Her eyes fluttered open, glassy with pleasure, and he smiled tightly. She hadn’t understood a word he’d said. A small whine of protest rose up her throat, and she dug her heels into his buttocks, begging him with her body to hurry up.

He looked at her for a long second, feeling a pang of guilt at what would happen in a matter of minutes, then started to fuck her again, harder and faster than before. So hard that his muscles started to ache and sweat trickled down his spine. Abigail pressed her lips together, her eyes closing in bliss as she moved her hips against his. Dipping his head to her breast again, he pulled her nipple into his mouth and sucked until she squealed. Then he moved his head to her other breast and closed his teeth around the hard peak. At his light bite, she screamed and erupted around his cock once again, the strength of her climax milking his cock until he couldn’t hold off any longer. He roared against the soft flesh of her breast as white-hot bliss streaked through his veins and his seed exploded from his body. His hips pumped in short, staccato strokes until the last of his come had been spilled, and then he collapsed against her body, his breathing harsh on the pale skin of her breast as he waited to regain his strength. When finally the thunder of blood in his ears died down, he lifted his head and drank in the sight of her dazed expression. Her eyelids swept downward, and the long, black lashes cast the area just below her eyes in shadow. Her lips were red and swollen, and her curls were tousled around her bare shoulders. How was it possible that a person could be so damned beautiful? Unable to resist, he lowered his head and captured her mouth with his. She stiffened beneath him, her hesitation clear. It didn’t surprise him. Never before had he kissed her lips, and he was almost certain that Caine hadn’t either. Now, as he continued to caress her lips with his, he couldn’t figure out why they hadn’t taken this sweet liberty. He worked her mouth until she responded and when her lips parted slightly, he took the opportunity to dart his tongue inside. He swallowed her light gasp and slid his tongue along hers. She tasted like fire -all heat and spice.Addictive . He kissed her slowly, caressing her tongue with his own, letting her scent and taste fill his head. He didn’t hear the footsteps on the cave floor until Jacintha stood next to him. Pulling back from Abigail reluctantly, he glanced at the white witch. “Jacintha?” Abigail murmured, still dazed. The redhead gave him a swift nod, then turned to the Princess and muttered a spell. The confusion on Abigail’s face faded as she relaxed and fell into a deep sleep. Stavros held her limp body in his arms and a wave of guilt swept over him. “What now?” he asked the witch. “Now we get her clothed and into the carriage.” The white witch, her usually full lips set in a grim line, retrieved Abigail’s dress from the ground. “We need to get to the fort as quickly as possible.” He nodded and helped Jacintha dress Abigail. They had no other option but to kidnap the Princess. There was no way she would come by choice. He just hoped she’d be able to forgive him and Caine for this. Then maybe she’d be able to accept her destiny as their mate. Chapter Three

In the depths of the forest, Caine ran as fast as his legs would allow, streaking through the woods, hind legs pushing back against the dirt and sending it spraying behind him. He could wait no longer. He needed to know if his brother had succeeded, if the Princess had been taken back to the fort. As he ran, the scents of the forest, grass and pines and his fellow wolves, filled his nostrils, but despite the full moon, he was in no mood to hunt tonight. Impatience tensed his muscles, even in wolven form, and thoughts of Princess Abigail crowded his mind, leaving no room for anything else. Damn it, hold yourself together, Caine. This was getting out of hand. He and Stavros would become Alpha by the next full moon. How good an Alpha would he be if all he could ever think about was his mate? The stone walls of Fort Bestial came into view, and he bounded toward them, chasing alongside the outer wall until he found the gates. He darted through them, then ran past the first set of huts and the baths, through the streets of the tiny village until he reached the large clearing in the very center of the fort where they all reconvened after a full moon. Only a few headed in the direction of their huts as most were still in the forest enjoying the night as beasts. Caine slowed, making his way past the center to the hut he shared with his brother. Two servants in their human form pulled open the wooden doors for him, and he stalked past them to begin the steep descent underground. When he reached the passageway that led to his own quarters, he allowed his fur to recede until he took the form of a man once again. Naked, he pushed open the door to the chambers he shared with Stavros, stepped inside, and grabbed the robe that hung on the back of the door. He smelled her before he saw her. Lavender, a scent he always breathed in while buried inside her body, rose to his nostrils, filling his head with the fact that she was indeed here. He scanned the entrance room, but saw only the chaise, armchairs, and hearth. Was she in the bedroom? He shrugged into the robe and strode across the sitting room into the bedchamber. The breath locked in his throat at the sight that greeted him. Coiled on the bed, her face peeking out above the velvet covers, her chocolate curls splayed across the white pillow behind her. Yes, she truly was here. He tensed. And fuck, she’s waking up. The Princess shifted, lifting her head from the pillow. She blinked once, twice, and then fixed her sleepy gaze on him. A couple of seconds ticked by as she registered his presence. Then her jaw dropped, and her eyes widened. “What’s going on?” She sat up straight on the bed and clutched at the covers as if the material could protect her from him. “Where am I? Where’s Jacintha?” He folded his arms over his chest and steeled himself for a temper tantrum. “You’re in Fort Bestial, Beauty. I don’t know where Jacintha is.” “But how --” She gave her pretty head a quick shake. “I don’t understand. Jacintha. She…” Her brow

furrowed in confusion. “She cast a spell over me.” The betrayal in her tone tore at his gut. He knew she trusted the white witch. After all, from what Abigail had been told, Jacintha’s clever negotiations had saved her life after she’d been bitten by a wolf. He didn’t want to tell her that Jacintha had helped the wolves plot this moment for months before Abigail had ever been bitten. Goddammit, why did they have to cause her this pain? “She didn’t do it to hurt you,” he told her calmly. “Then why?” Abigail’s voice cracked, and she shook her head again as if trying to wake from a bad dream. His heart clenched at the sight and he turned away, focusing on the oak dresser that stood against the rose-colored wall. The truth was that the time of Alpha Lyson was drawing to a close and Caine and Stavros were the only possible successors in their pack. But they couldn’t be Alpha until they had their mate and their mate just happened to be the humans’ princess. After many discussions with Lyson, a risky plan was put into effect, and a wolf had been sent across the Divide to bite Abigail. Wolven blood mingled with her own and instilled a need within her, a need as basic as food or shelter, to mate with a wolf on every full moon. This gave Caine and Stavros the opportunity to ensure that she was indeed theirtrue mate. Caine had known the second he saw her that it was true. He’d felt it in the twisting of his gut, the fierce speed of his pulse, and the intense arousal which had flared within him. Stavros had experienced the same effects, and after months of seeing her every full moon, it was now time to make it a permanent arrangement. Considering her present state of shock, Caine didn’t think now was the best time to reveal all the facts. “There are many answers to that question,” he stated eventually, then turned to face her again. “The simplest answer is that you are meant to be here. Jacintha was only carrying out a favor for the kingdom.” Abigail hiccupped and straightened her shoulders. “The King ordered this?” He shook his head. “I am not referring to your kingdom. I’m talking aboutmine .” “I don’t belong here.” “Yes, Princess, you do.” “No.” She shook her head furiously, her breath coming hard in her state of shock. Itching to hold her, he watched her fight to calm herself, and when he could stand it no longer, he strode to the bed and pulled her into his arms. She fought him for a few seconds before collapsing against his chest as if this whole mess had drained all the energy from her. He held her tight, trying his damnedest not to become aroused by the sweet scent of her hair and the soft curves of her body that yielded to the hardness of his, but he couldn’t prevent his cock from rising to life. When she lifted her head, anger blazed in her dark brown eyes, and before he could say anything, she slammed her palm into his cheek, and a sharp sting spread across his skin. He winced at the pain but was

more preoccupied with the outrage that had fired her to life. Her eyes flashed, daring him to anger her further. The hand she’d slapped him with flexed slowly at her side, and he wouldn’t have been surprised if she reached out again and clawed him apart with her clean, neatly shaped fingernails. Sweet mercy. He resisted the urge to laugh with relief. He should never have worried about her. Her strength showed in the flashing of her eyes and the tightness of her muscles. Like a cat ready to pounce. She could handle this situation. “How dare you?” She lifted her hand to slap him again. This time, he caught it and held it away from his face. “How dare I what?” “You kidnap me to your fort and scare me half to death, and then you grow aroused as if you haven’t already fucked me tonight.” He blinked, barely aware she’d mistaken him for Stavros as his cock jerked against the front of his robe. Never had the wordfuck sounded so good. “That’s hardly the kind of language a princess should use,” he teased. She glared at him. “Don’t pretend to be shocked, Wolf. It was you who insisted I say it, remember?” No, he didn’t. But that was because it had been Stavros who’d insisted she say it. And, obviously, the bastard had gotten his way. Caine reached out a hand to stroke her hair but she slapped him away.Wicked girl . He loved her like this. Full of spirit. But still, she tried to tamp down her sexual awareness. He knew from the flush in her cheeks that she was as aroused as he was, yet she resisted it. He and Stavros would soon change that. He took a deep breath, then exhaled it slowly. It was time to start telling her the truth. “It was not I who fucked you tonight.” Her eyes widened and then narrowed in suspicion. “Oh really? I imagined the incident, did I?” “On the contrary, my love.” He paused at the sound of footsteps in the entrance room. They approached the bedchamber, and then the door swung open. “It was my brother who fucked you tonight,” he said, tilting his head to where Stavros now stood. “I had my turn last month.” Abigail’s lush mouth fell open as her shocked gaze darted back and forth between him and Stavros. Caine turned to his brother, who grinned back at him with his usual wry humor. The expression in his eyes was easy to read, and Caine knew it reflected his own. Yes, their princess was hostile and shocked and probably hated them both at this very minute. But she washere .

Now all they had to do was convince her that she needed to stay. And he and Stavros were going to have a damn good time doing that. ****** Abigail couldn’t believe her eyes. There were two of them. Two wolves . And they were identical, each as darkly handsome as the other without even a freckle to tell them apart. “I don’t understand,” she muttered under her breath. She felt like she’d said those three words many times tonight, yet nobody appeared willing to help her understand. The one by the door, the wolf she’d apparently fucked tonight, moved forward, his silver gaze resting on her. Yes. Now she saw the difference. It lay in their eyes and expressions. The wolf who approached now had the wry sense of humor and the laughing eyes, while the wolf whose presence she’d awoken to tonight was more serious, more intense. She shook her head in amazement. Over the past few months, she’d noted the difference in the wolf’s personality each time she visited the cave, but she’d never guessed the split personality was a result of there actually being two wolves rather than one. “What are your names?” It was the only thing she could think of to say. And she couldn’t call themWolf . That would get confusing, what with there being two of them. “Stavros,” said the wolf with the laughing eyes. He gestured to the wolf who sat on the bed beside her. “And this is my brother, Caine.” Stavros and Caine. Unusual names, yet they suited these beasts. “Are you going to tell me why I’m here?” Again, the two brothers exchanged glances. Then Caine turned to her, fixing her with his silver gaze. “You are to stay here with us and become our mate.” She blinked, then blinked again. What on earth? They couldn’t possibly be serious…could they? Their matter-of-fact tones and clear gazes made them seemvery serious indeed. “I cannot,” she croaked out eventually. “I am betrothed.” Stavros shook his head and the movement of his silky hair reminded her of how she’d tangled her fingers in it earlier that night. The memory sent warm lust rolling over her body and she gritted her teeth. How could it be that even now they could arouse her? “You will not marry the Prince of Elderwood,” Stavros stated, his deep tones tearing her from her thoughts. “You belong to us. You have been ours since the night you were bitten.” “No,” she snapped, even as her soul screamed that he was indeed correct. Sitting here on this bed, there was nothing she wanted more than to launch herself at these beasts and have them bury their cocks inside her. But that was the wolven blood talking. Not her heart. “I don’t belong with wolves. I am the Princess of Drayzlake. My father will be furious when he finds out what you have done.” “Yes,” Caine agreed, “he probably will be. But what your father feels is irrelevant. You belong to us.

That’s all there is to it.” Rising to his feet, Caine stroked a hand through her hair, then stepped back from the bed. “We will leave you to sleep now, Beauty.” Stavros raised an eyebrow at his brother. “We will?” “Yes. She is tired and needs to rest.” “I do not need to rest,” she argued and got to her feet, hoping they didn’t notice how her legs trembled. “I demand to be taken back to the castle.” Neither of them responded as they walked toward the door. “No. You must let me go.” Her voice rose as she lurched forward after them. “Where are you going?” “Princess,” Caine said, turning to face her. “Please sleep.” “No,” she shouted, feeling her heart pound beneath her breast. “You must tell me. You must.” At this point, she didn’t know what she wanted them to tell her, but desperation for something to make sense had her strickenwith panic. Stavros took a step toward her, his face tight with worry. He glanced briefly at his brother, then pulled her against him. She yelped and fought at his arms, but he was much too strong. “Stavros,” she heard Caine say, his voice taut with warning. “Don’t.” Stavros shook his head, holding her still even as she started to kick his legs. “She needs it. It will calm her.” She could barely hear what they were saying. Her mind spun, anxiety thrummed in her veins. A clammy sweat covered her skin. Even with Stavros holding her, she shivered with cold. A sudden ripping sound made her squeal, and when she looked down, she saw Stavros tearing her dress from her body. Twisting against him, she gasped for breath, feeling her undergarments being stripped away. He and Caine spoke urgently to one another, but she couldn’t make sense of the words. The chill in her skin worsened, and she shivered again. But when every inch of her skin was bare and Stavros brought his hands to her waist, heat flared from where he touched her and spread across the surface of her skin. She held her breath for long seconds as the knots in her stomach slowly unraveled, making her body feel light, almost weightless. The pounding in her head eased, and the anxiety in her blood faded to a gentle hum. Closing her eyes, she allowed the calm warmth to envelop her. At her waist, Stavros ran his fingers lightly over her skin, leaving tingling trails of heat in his wake. She released a long breath and felt a burst of wetness coat her pussy. “Come,” Stavros said, presumably to Caine. “Help me.” A soft murmur fell from her lips as another warm body moved beside her. Her mind slowed further until it was completely still. Aware of nothing but the hands at her waist, she leaned forward until her forehead rested on Stavros’s hard chest. His hands trailed upward to her breasts as Caine brought his hands to her hips. “We’ll only touch her,” he said quietly as he moved behind her, running his hands down her thighs.
Page 17

“Yes,” Stavros agreed, then flicked a thumb over her nipple lightly. She pressed into his touch and gasped as Caine slipped a finger between her thighs. The single digit probed the entrance to her pussy, then slid all the way inside. Feeling like liquid, she melted against Stavros and savored their soft caresses. Stavros continued to touch her breasts as Caine stroked the inner walls of her pussy. Both touched her so lightly, completely different from how she and Stavros had mated in the cave earlier that night. But though their caresses were gentle, she felt them everywhere as the heat of their hands and fingers spread through her, keeping her blood warm and making her skin tingle. She didn’t know how long they touched her like that. With each leisurely second that passed, her arousal built until every inch of her skin was alive. When her release came, it was long and delicious, rolling through her body in light waves as her pussy clenched around Caine’s finger. She gave a soft moan and felt a sudden exhaustion weigh down her limbs as her orgasm faded. And then one of them, she couldn’t tell which, picked her up and laid her down on what felt like a bed of silk. With her eyes already closed, she drifted into a deep sleep. ***** It was approaching dawn when the first contact came from Drayzlake Castle. The message arrived at Fort Bestial by means of a flying square of parchment and was quickly delivered to Alpha Lyson by a young maid. “The King wants an immediate assembly,” the Alpha informed Caine and Stavros after reading the message. “He requests a face-to-face meeting at the Divide by sunrise.” Caine nodded. As expected, it hadn’t taken long for King Frederick to react. “Sunrise is less than one hour away. We should move now.” “Send for Jacintha,” Lyson told the maid. “No,” Stavros broke in. “Seeing Jacintha after her betrayal will only anger the King.” Lyson paused, then nodded. “We will go alone. Just the three of us and a guard.” Twenty minutes later, dry leaves crunched beneath their feet as they strode through the forest. Clearing a path between the trees, Caine and Stavros walked ahead of Lyson and his guard. The muscles in Caine’s legs ached with every step he took. It seemed forever since he and Stavros had left Abigail in the bedchamber, sated and asleep. He still wasn’t sure manipulating her shock into desire had been the right thing to do, but feeling her relax beneath his touch had warmed his soul. It had also been another piece of proof that Abigail was their true mate. Just their touch had been enough to soothe her fear. Since they’d left her, they’d remained in Lyson’s quarters, awaiting the inevitable response to their kidnapping of the princess. Neither he nor Stavros had managed a wink of sleep. “She was wonderful in the cave.”

Stavros’s quiet words were meant for his ears alone, and Caine’s mouth twitched in amusement. Trust Stavros to be thinking about sex at a time like this. “She went down on me,” Stavros continued. “She sucked my cock.” Caine nearly groaned at the image his brother’s words conjured up. He could see it now, Abigail’s knees digging into the dirt floor of the cave, her full lips wrapped around his cock, her head bobbing up and down… A flash of jealousy fisted his gut, and he shot a “bastard” in Stavros’s direction. His brother laughed and slapped him on the back. “Don’t worry, you’ll get your turn. She’s in our quarters at this very moment. In the morning, we shall feast on her all we want.” Caine exhaled heavily, remembering Abigail’s anger and shock. “What if she doesn’t want to be feasted upon?” he said quietly, glancing at Stavros. “What if her desire is a direct result of the full moon and nothing else?” “You are always the pessimist, aren’t you, brother?” “Maybe,” Caine conceded, giving a tight smile. “We shall find out tomorrow, in any case. There won’t be any full moon on which she can blame her desires.” “Exactly.” Stavros kicked a branch out of their path and elbowed Caine between the ribs. “The Princess is our destined mate, remember? She belongs to us, and she wants us as badly as we desire her. There’s nothing to worry about.” Caine smirked at his brother’s assuredness. Where he was an eternal pessimist, Stavros had a knack for always looking on the bright side.Of course they had something to worry about. An impending war with the humans of Drayzlake, perhaps? They took the rest of the journey at a fast pace and arrived at the Divide just as the sun was peeking above the horizon. Several of the royal guards stood on the other side of the magical barrier glowering at the Alpha, their mistrust hanging thick in the air. King Frederick, his thin lips pressed into a hard line and his small eyes bloodshot, stood amid them. His gaze never left Lyson as the Alpha came to a stop in the clearing. Caine gritted his teeth in preparation for a royal tantrum and stood to Lyson’s left, while Stavros took the Alpha’s right. They all stood in the clearing for long seconds as a silent battle raged between the King and the Alpha. Finally, the King fisted his hands at his sides and broke the silence. “My daughter. Where is she?” Simple as the words were, Caine detected the underlying fury waiting to burst free. “She is safe within the walls of Fort Bestial,” Lyson replied, his deep voice ringing clear in the forest air. “Where she belongs.” “Pah!” The King snorted his derision. “I won’t listen to such nonsense. Return her to me.” “She shall stay where she is. She is to be mated with the next Alphas of Drayzlake.”

The King rolled his eyes from Lyson to Caine, and then to Stavros. His nose lifted in a sneer. “She is betrothed to Prince Philip of Elderwood. She belongs tohim .” A wave of possessiveness tightened Caine’s throat and his fist itched to slam into the King’s face.Stupid fool . What would the man do if he were informed that it had been Prince Philip himself who had told them that Abigail was their mate over a year ago? Jacintha had come to Fort Bestial with the information from the Prince. His letter had stated that Stavros and Caine needed to act fast in order to secure Abigail as their mate. Otherwise, they would never have her, and the pack would be left without an Alpha. Caine had no idea how the Prince had come to know that Abigail was to be their mate, although he had heard many tales regarding Elderwood and the Prince at various social gatherings. The man was human as far as Caine was aware, but it seemed he’d been blessed with special abilities. “You are incorrect,” the Alpha stated calmly. “Your daughter will mate with Stavros and Caine. It is in her blood, destined to happen. And she will desire nothing more than to mate with them once she adjusts to her new surroundings.” “I cannot accept such a thing,” the balding royal said sharply, his skin turning ruddy and his beady eyes appearing even smaller in his round face. “She is a princess. It is not proper for a young girl to mate with wolves.” “She has been mating with wolves on every full moon for the past year,” Lyson reminded him carefully. “Ah, but you tricked me.” The King accused them, wagging a stubby finger at them. “You and that wretched witch! You planned the attack on Abigail so this could come about. You purposely infected her!” Caine stifled a growl and met his brother’s silver gaze in the morning light. They were both thinking the same thing. King Frederick would not go down without a fight. “We did what had to be done.” Lyson took a step back, signaling that this meeting had come to an end. “Abigail belongs with us.” “No! I won’t hear of it.” The King barked the words, his limbs shaking. Sweat beaded on his forehead. “Return her to me.” Lyson stared at the King for a long moment before giving a respectful nod. “It would be better to discuss this at a later date when we have all had the opportunity to consider the facts involved. We shall be in touch.” With that, Lyson turned and disappeared with his guard into the shadows of the trees. Caine and Stavros followed, leaving the King to shout various threats of war at their backs. They didn’t speak until they reached the walls of Fort Bestial. And when Caine glanced at Stavros, his brows were drawn together in a frown, and his lips were set in a grim line. Hell. If Stavros was worried, things were really bad. Chapter Four
When Abigail awoke the following morning, she was sprawled on a satin sheet. For a few moments, she kept her eyes closed as memories of the previous night flickered in her mind -- the cave, Jacintha, the two wolves, the fort. Perhaps it had been a dream, a realistic one, but a dream all the same. And maybe
Page 20

when she opened her eyes she’d see her mother, Queen Lorna, standing over her. But it was difficult to convince herself she was lying in her own bed when she knew very well that her sheets were cotton, not satin. Letting out a sigh, she gathered her nerve and opened her eyes. The rich colors of the room filled her vision, and as she looked around, she realized there was no window from which she could tell the time of day. A ticking sound drew her attention to the opposite wall, and she saw the grandfather clock standing in the corner. She was surprised to see it was a magnificent piece, larger and finer than the one that stood in her father’s throne room. She was even more surprised that the clock’s face read eleven. How could she have slept so late? She sat up on the bed, pushed to her feet, and winced at the twinge between her legs. Remembering the hysteria of the night before, she crossed her arms over her chest. It had taken only the wolves’ touch to calm her. She didn’t like to imagine what that meant. To distract herself, she inspected the room, examining all the little nooks and crannies. At noon, the door opened. Nerves tightened her belly as she turned, expecting to see the intimidating figure of either Stavros or Caine or maybe both enter the room. Instead, Jacintha stepped inside wearing a dress of sapphire blue that clung to her voluptuous body and set off her rich red curls to perfection. Even in the darkened underground room, her ivory skin glowed while her rosy lips stretched into a cautious smile. “Do you hate me, Princess?” Abigail glowered at the witch, the hurt of her companion’s betrayal once again swamping her soul. “Yes,” she muttered and pursed her lips. “You’re a traitor.” Jacintha bowed her head and sighed. “I’m sorry, but I did what I thought was right.” “You helped those beasts to kidnap me.” “It’s for the best.” Abigail let out a harsh laugh, wanting nothing more than to spit out a string of unladylike words, but she had to remain calm. “How can it possibly be for the best?” The redhead smiled softly and tilted her head to the door. “How about I run you a hot bath? While you bathe, I will tell you everything.” Abigail hesitated, but the thought of a good scrub made her skin itch. So she followed Jacintha out of the bedroom and into a small sitting room that was nicely decorated in rich colors and fabrics. Quite like the castle, she was surprised to see. Jacintha pulled open another door, and Abigail stepped past her into the bathing room. The largest bathtub she’d ever seen filled up most of the marble-floored room. It looked as if it could hold four or five people. As she stepped closer, an image of her sitting in the tub, locked between Caine and Stavros as they ran sponges over her naked body, flashed across her mind. She clenched her fists and dug her fingernails into her palms. Even her imagination was working against her.
Page 21

“Come, Princess.” Jacintha muttered a spell, and hot water magically rose in the tub. Hurriedly, Abigail undressed and took the witch’s hand as she stepped into the bath and sank down into the water, feeling the tension start to drain from her limbs. After a few seconds of relaxing in the tub, she opened her eyes and fixed the witch with her stare. “Why did you help them?” Jacintha dipped a washcloth in the water and rubbed bar of soap into it. “Because they are good people. And they need you.” Abigail watched Jacintha circle the tub until she stood behind her. “Why on earth do they need me?” “The time is nearing for a new Alpha to take command of the Drayzlake Pack. Both Stavros and Caine will share the role as they are equal in power, dominance and integrity.” Jacintha nudged Abigail forward and began to scrub her upper back. “But for two males to become Alpha, they need a mate to bond them. You are that mate.” She frowned as her mind started to spin, struggling to absorb the information. “What? That’s ridiculous. How can I possibly be their mate?” “Because it is your destiny,” Jacintha explained gently. “For wolves, a mate is predestined. As a matter of fact, the same can be said for humans, but it is recognized more in the wolven community.” “But I am not a wolf.” “I know that.” Jacintha moved the cloth from Abigail’s back to her shoulders. “True, it is unusual that you are to be the mate of the Alphas, and I don’t have all the answers. It is possible that somewhere in your bloodline there is a trace of wolven blood. Perhaps there have been princesses before you who have enjoyed dalliances with the wolves.” Abigail ignored the tongue-in-cheek remark. She couldn’t possibly imagine any of her good and proper ancestors mating with wolves. “Is it because I was bitten?” Jacintha let out a heavy sigh. “No, you were bitten because you were to be mated with the brothers, not the other way around.” Her eyes widened, and she twisted in the bath to face the witch. “The attack was set up?” “Yes. The wolf was sent across the Divide to bite you.” Jacintha offered an apologetic smile. “It was traumatic for you, I know, and I am truly sorry for that. But it had to be done.” “Why?” “Because when you were bitten by the wolf, wolven blood entered your veins. After that, your father was forced to engage with the wolves and to make a deal that would give Caine and Stavros access to you. They needed to test you.” “Test me?” “To ensure you really were their mate.”
Page 22

For such a strange situation, it all sounded so simple. She looked up at the witch, wanting nothing more than to scream when she saw the sincerity shining in Jacintha’s soft eyes. She was obviously deluded if she believed Abigail belonged here. Taking the cloth from Jacintha’s hands, she turned in the tub again and began to wash her legs. “I know my father. He will be ruthless in his quest for revenge on the wolves. And he won’t let you off lightly just because you are a witch. He trusted you.” “I said it before, my lady, and I shall say it again. You belong here. Your future lies with the pack.” She shook her head. “I don’t believe in fate and destiny.” “I know, but I hope that soon you will.” A soft sigh fell from Abigail’s lips as Jacintha began to knead her shoulders. Feeling her frustration slowly dissolve, she rolled her head back and closed her eyes. “Do you have a mate?” The witch laughed. “I confess, I don’t know yet.” She slid her hands further down Abigail’s back, massaging the flesh at the top of her buttocks. “Perhaps I, like you, shall have more than one mate.” Her eyes drifted shut as she enjoyed the witch’s soft touch. “Is that how it works here? Do the wolves have numerous mates?” “Not always. There are many couples here -- just a man and woman.” The tip of her finger grazed the cleft of Abigail’s ass, and a quiver of lust sparked deep inside her pussy. “In our part of the kingdom, it is always just a man and woman.” “I know.” Those gentle hands rose upward again. “It is the same in Britain, France, and even Italy. A great pity as I am sure there are many people in your half of Drayzlake as well as in other countries who have married the wrong man or woman.” Abigail frowned, thinking of the strained, painfully formal relationship between her parents. “You believe that would be the case of I were to marry the Prince of Elderwood?” Jacintha’s soapy hands reached around Abigail’s waist and stroked over her stomach. “Yes, you shall never be happy unless you are mated to the brothers. They are your destiny.” Abigail opened her mouth to argue, then closed it again as Jacintha’s hands rose upward to wash her breasts. The light caress differed so greatly from the brothers’ harsh touches, arousing her and relaxing her at the same time. Besides, what was the point in arguing? Jacintha’s firm beliefs would not be shaken. ***** After the bath, which left her sex pulsating and her nipples hard, Abigail dressed in a long woolen skirt and a corseted blouse that displayed her full cleavage. Beneath her clothing, all she wore was a pair of
Page 23

French knickers, leaving her feeling scandalously bare. She was tempted to ask for something a little less revealing, but she supposed she was lucky to be wearing anything at all. The wolves would prefer her naked, no doubt. She spent the afternoon in the sitting room reading while Jacintha mended clothes on the chaise beside her. Abigail nodded toward the needle and thread in the witch’s hands. “Why don’t you use magic?” “It relaxes me.” She smiled, unable to imagine the witch ever needing to relax. She always appeared perfectly serene, as if she didn’t have a care in the world. Turning back to her book on wolven heritage and mating rituals, Abigail settled into silence once again. The piece of literature captivated her attention, and at times, it held her so engrossed that she forgot about this ghastly situation with Stavros and Caine. As she read, she realized how little she knew about their way of life. She knew the rise of the full moon forced them to change from man to beast and that the Alpha was their natural leader, chosen for the qualities he possessed. But the book told of how they lived by set rules and didn’t tolerate rebellion at any level. They lived peacefully, worked hard as a community, bore children. There were passages about the many wars that had taken place between the wolves and humans of Drayzlake over the years, and Abigail grimaced at the descriptions of the various methods of torture implemented by her kind. Her history lessons, only focusing on the human casualties, had never disclosed the cruelty inflicted upon the wolves. “Is it true that to be joined with an Alpha, you must mate in full view of the entire pack?” she asked in the early evening. Jacintha glanced up from her sewing and smiled. “Except for the children.” She tossed her red curls over her shoulder and reached out to pat Abigail’s knee. “But don’t worry. The joining takes place on a full moon, a time when the pack is at its sexual peak. The other wolves will be too focused on their own pleasure to notice yours.” She nodded as heat burned in her cheeks. The idea of being surrounded by a pack of mating wolves both terrified and intoxicated her. Images of naked bodies writhing together flooded the surface of her mind and she could almost hear the screams of pleasure rising in the air. She gave her head a quick shake.Snap out of it, Abigail. You shall never be part of it. You are not an animal. The door to the chambers creaked open when the clock struck seven. Before she looked up from her book, she knew it was one of them. The force of his presence filled the room, affecting her more than she cared to admit. Her skin heated and the woolen dress she’d borrowed from Jacintha irritated it further. What would he say if I pulled the dress over my head and greeted him naked ? She swallowed the thick bubble of laughter that threatened to spill from her lips. Undoubtedly, his eyes would bulge from his head. The heavy tap of his footsteps on the marble floor echoed around the room and her mouth dried when he stood before her, his large shadow casting her in darkness. Pressing her lips together, she waited for him to speak. Long seconds ticked by and he said nothing. How rude he is, expecting a lady to speak first . Such impolite behavior, the kind unheard of amongst the gentlemen she was acquainted with. But he’s not a gentleman. He’s a wolf.

Unable to stand the draining silence any longer, she lifted her gaze to his. From the furrowed brow and intensity of his dark, silver-rimmed pupils, she knew it was Caine who stared at her so openly. “Enjoying your book, Beauty?” The rich sound of his voice awakened every nerve ending in her body. The surface of her skin tingled, her nipples tightened into hard peaks, and the bud deep between her thighs swelled and throbbed. Instinctively, she squeezed her thighs together and hoped he didn’t notice, but she had a feeling those dark eyes saw everything. Remembering his question, she cleared her throat and nodded. “Yes, I am enjoying it.” She resisted the urge to cringe at the sound of her breathless words. The worst thing she could do would be to let him see how he affected her. There would be no more hysterics. She couldn’t afford to be seen as weak. So, with a racing heart, she met the amusement in his eyes with a steely gaze of her own. After a drawn-out staring match, her resolve weakened. If only he wasn’t so damned magnetic . The desire to reach out and touch him nearly overwhelmed her, and she clutched the book in her lap in a desperate attempt to keep her hands to herself. How ridiculous it was that she should have so little control over her own body, but his raw masculinity, so incredibly potent, set fire to her blood. To climb on top of him, to let him run those large hands all over her body… Without taking his eyes off her, Caine addressed Jacintha. “Would you mind giving us a moment?” “Of course.” She held Caine’s heated gaze, barely aware of the witch exiting the room until the door slammed shut. Left alone with the wolf. Heavens help her. “How did you spend your day, Beauty?” She raised her chin, determined not to give in as she had the previous night. “I bathed this morning and have read since then.” One thick brow lifted. “I am sorry I wasn’t here to help you bathe.” She flushed and dropped her gaze to her lap, before forcing it upward once again. “Jacintha gave me all the help I needed.” His eyes flashed. “I see.” He nodded at her book. “You are a good reader, are you?” As a matter of fact, there was no pastime she enjoyed better. Within the stringent confines of Drayzlake Castle, she had to immerse herself in books to find any escape. “I enjoy it, yes.” “Good.” He held her eyes for another few moments, before letting his silver gaze roam her body. She ran her tongue over her lower lip and tried to control the rise and fall of her breasts. Why does he have to look at me like that? “I must say,” he said, his hungry eyes fixed on the front of her corset where her nipples poked against the material, “both myself and my brother have been severely distracted all day.”
Page 25

She swallowed. “Distracted by what?” He stared into her eyes briefly before returning his attention to the swells of her breasts. “By thoughts of you, of course.” He flashed her a wicked grin. “It’s not every day that we have a beautiful princess like you locked in our chambers.” “Really? You seem so experienced in the matter, as if you’ve kidnapped royalty dozens of times before.” The huskiness in her voice weakened the intention behind her words. She’d wanted to sound ironic, sharp as glass, but her lusty tones had only served to widen the smile on the wolf’s face. Oh why did I speak? The regretful thought died when he dropped to his knees before her and brought one large palm to her breast. The heat of his skin seared through the wool of her dress, and she let out a gasp as the warmth spread further. Although he only touched her breast, she could feel his hand all over her body -- the indent of her elbow, the arch of her foot, the apex of her thighs. Just like last night. A bubble of anger, anger at his audacity and anger at her reaction to his touch, caught somewhere in her chest. But heated desire quickly swallowed whole the annoyance until all she could feel were little bolts of electricity stemming from where his hand cupped her breast. “Are you aware of how you look when you are aroused, Beauty?” Pressing her lips together, she focused on his voice, then released a slow breath as his thumb flicked over one distended nipple. Wordlessly, she shook her head. “Your eyes turn black,” he told her in a low growl. He flicked her nipple again and the sharp sensation reached right down to her clit. “You look hungry for pleasure -- reddened mouth, flushed cheeks…” With his free hand, he cupped her chin and swiped his thumb over her bottom lip. She reacted on pure instinct, opening her mouth and darting out her tongue to lick the tip of his thumb. Caine gritted his teeth and hissed out a breath. She licked his thumb again, tasting the salty skin, and then, with her eyes fixed on Caine’s face, sucked it into the moist interior of her mouth. “Beauty,” he protested, leaning forward until his warm breath caressed her jaw. He tugged his thumb from her mouth and once again ran the digit over her lips. “Stavros told me your kiss tastes like sin.” His dark gaze moved back and forth between her eyes and her mouth. “I want to --” Yes, her traitorous mind whispered as moisture pooled between her thighs. How she longed for his kiss. Taste me. He must have read her thoughts because his head bowed and his lips descended on hers in a harsh kiss. She opened her mouth for him, welcoming the invasion of his hot tongue, loving how their breaths mingled. The fingers on her nipple tightened, and she groaned. Caine’s mouth swallowed the sound as his hand left her breast, venturing south. The scorching intensity of his kiss made her mind spin. She clutched at his shoulders, digging her nails into the material of his black velvet jacket. Air whooshed along her bare legs, and she realized he was bunching up her dress. A warm, roughened hand slid up her thigh and stroked the sensitive flesh, up and down until hunger for his body crashed through her. And then he ripped his lips from hers and his harsh breath covered her neck.

“I want to kiss you somewhere else now, Beauty,” he growled against her throat. He cupped her mound, pressing the heel of his palm against her until she had to choke back a scream. His lips curved at her neck. “I want to taste your cunt.” Her eyes slammed shut at Caine’s rasped words. She shouldn’t give in. The worst thing she could do was give him power. But, mercy, she couldn’t stop herself. Her body reacted to his on instinct, her hips rocking against his palm, paying no attention to her mind’s disapproval. She wanted -- no, sheneeded -to feel that sensuous mouth on her pussy and clit. She couldn’t imagine anything better. She pushed her pussy into his hand again, ignoring his soft chuckle, which tickled her throat. When he pushed one long finger past the lace of her knickers and inside her slick passage, she forgot herself completely and let out a long scream. Her inner muscles clutched the single digit and she bit her lip until she tasted blood. “More,” she begged, lifting her hips again and pushing her pride to the back of her mind. There was no point in fighting it. “Please, more.” Chapter Five
Her desperate plea turned Caine’s cock to stone. He stared down at her flushed cheeks and reddened mouth, then closed his eyes as once again her muscles tightened around his finger. How he wanted to feel that pussy wrapped around his cock. But not yet. First, he wanted a taste of her. “Whatever you say, Beauty,” he muttered, aware that his voice was thick with desire. Withdrawing his finger from her body, he pulled her hips forward on the chaise lounge until her bottom rested on the velvet edge. He lifted her long, smooth legs and, hooking them over his shoulders, bared her pussy to his gaze. The sight drew a groan from his lips. Damn it, she was beautiful. Pink swollen folds glistened with her juices and the tight button of her clit protruded as if begging him to suck it. He licked his lips, then lowered his head until his mouth covered her sex. Her hips lifted as he worked his tongue over her folds, then thrust its length inside her cunt. She slid over his tongue like silk, her sweet cream filling his mouth as he lapped her up greedily. He breathed in her musky scent, letting her flood his senses. In his trousers, his cock jerked, desperate to be where his tongue was. Fuck, he couldn’t get enough of her. Sliding his hands beneath her body to grip her smooth, firm buttocks, he pulled her closer to his face and drew the tip of his tongue upward to swirl around her clit. The swollen bud jumped against his tongue as Abigail’s fingers tangled in his hair, holding him in place. Don’t worry, my love, I’m not going anywhere. Catching her clit between his lips, he sucked hard. Her raw scream echoed in his ears and sent a rush of blood surging straight to his cock. He slipped his tongue back inside her tight passage and stroked her walls until he felt her clench around him. Her fingers pulled hard at his hair as she let out another cry, but

he continued to thrust his tongue into her rippling cunt, lapping up every drop of her sweet juices. When she finally collapsed back against the cushions, he lifted his head and drank in the sight of her spent state. Her eyelids swept downward, and sweat glistened on her collarbone. Her breath came in short pants but gradually slowed the longer he stared at her. After pulling the skirts of her dress back into place, he rose to his feet, painfully aware of the erection that tented his trousers. “Couldn’t help yourself, eh?” Caine turned to find Stavros staring at her. A sheepish smile tugged at Caine’s lips and he shrugged. “I suppose not.” On the chaise, Abigail shifted, and her green eyes flickered open. Her gaze moved from him to Stavros, then dropped to the floor as her cheeks colored. Caine shook his head in amazement. Her body accepted pleasure so eagerly, yet she continued to feel shame afterward. What a complicated being she was. “Are you hungry, Beauty?” Stavros asked, his tone deep and caring. Caine darted a glance in his brother’s direction, realizing just how crazy Stavros was about her. He furrowed his brow and, looking back at her, felt his heart swell at the sight of her. Her skin glowed after her orgasm, but she stubbornly refused to look at either him or Stavros. Her angry pride had him fighting a smile. How he longed to just bundle her up in his arms and swing her around until she had to fight a smile too. “Yes.” Keeping her gaze averted, she got to her feet. “Good.” Caine reached for her elbow and guided her toward the door. Stavros took the other elbow, and together, they all left the room and walked in the direction of the private dining hall used only by them and the Alpha’s family. They entered the circular room and Stavros stopped at the oak table beside the large hearth. Caine pulled out a chair for Abigail, then sat down beside her. “Have you eaten today?” Stavros asked as they waited to be served. “A maid brought Jacintha and me some cakes this afternoon,” Abigail replied. “They were quite delicious actually.” “Of course they were,” Stavros said, reaching for the wine. “We have the best cooks in the kingdom.” Abigail arched one perfect brow. “Is that so?” “It is indeed,” Stavros confirmed. Caine listened to the banter flip back and forth between his brother and Abigail in thoughtful silence as his mind tried to work out what his own feelings were for her. Yes, he adored her body and took great pleasure in her company, and it was true that he always missed her while he awaited his next full moon. But had he fallen for her already? From the way the breath caught in his throat at the sight of her, it would seem so. She looked so perfect eating a meal with him and Stavros, sitting between them, letting them share her.
Page 28

Not that she has a choice. He broke out of his thoughts and addressed the Princess. “We apologize for leaving you alone today. I trust Jacintha’s company kept you entertained?” “Of course.” He frowned when she didn’t elaborate. Had anything untoward occurred between the two females? Lord knows, the witch was a kinky being. “And just how did she entertain you?” Caine glanced up at his brother’s deeply voiced inquiry and knew from the spark in Stavros’ narrowed eyes that he’d been thinking along the same lines. Looking back at Abigail, Caine found her running a fingertip over the rim of her goblet. She arched an innocent eyebrow. “She ran me a bath, then we spent the afternoon in the sitting room.” Caine’s imagination locked on her mention of the bath, and his mind created a vivid picture of Jacintha and Abigail together, naked in the tub, washing each other’s smooth skin. His cock leaped against the front of his trousers, and he choked down a groan. The voluptuous redhead wrapped around Abigail’s slender form made for one hell of an image. Abigail took a sip from her goblet of wine and replaced it on the table. “She explained to me why I am here.” Caine straightened, his fantasies fading to the back of his mind. “What did she tell you?” She looked up from the spot on the table she’d been staring at and met his gaze with her own haughty one. “That the wolf who bit me a year ago did so on your orders.” She straightened her shoulders, green eyes flashing, daring him and Stavros to defy her. Caine had no intention of doing so. Yes, they’d set up the attack, but it had been without choice. “We were running out of time,” he explained. “We needed our mate.” She clucked her tongue dismissively, obviously not impressed with the idea of belonging to them. “We understand that this is a trying time for you, Beauty,” Stavros said, reaching out a hand to stroke her soft cheek. Caine was pleased to see she didn’t flinch away from his brother’s touch. “We will do our very best to make this a pleasurable experience for you,” Caine promised, catching her eye. “I believe you shall be very satisfied here.” Her eyes darkened and she swallowed hard. A knowing smile tilted the corners of Caine’s mouth. She thought he referred to sex. As a matter of fact, he expected her to be satisfied with all aspects of life here -- sex, food, the wolves. She would come to realize that they weren’t the primitive beasts she’d been brought up to believe existed.

A servant girl entered the room with plates of meat and vegetables, and a young boy followed with bread. They set the food on the table, and Caine watched Abigail cautiously take a bite of her meal. At the first taste, her eyes rolled up and she murmured her approval. “I told you,” Stavros said, lifting a piece of carrot to his lips, “we make the best food in the kingdom.” “It is adequate,” she admitted. A small smile curved her lips as she cut into her meat. “I must say I never imagined this.” “What?” Caine asked. She lifted her shoulders in a gentle shrug. “I never thought wolves ate dinner at a dining table complete with cutlery and goblets of wine.” Caine grinned. “I believe you have been told many false tales in your childhood regarding our way of life.” He took a sip of wine, letting the fruity liquid roll over his tongue as he studied her curious face. “Do you know that Drayzlake is the only kingdom in the Quartet where wolves are separated from humans?” Her green eyes widened. Could it be possible that the other three kingdoms of the land where so far ahead of Drayzlake? “No. I confess I did not.” Stavros nodded. “In places like Riverend and Loireville, wolves have integrated into society. Even in Elderwood, the kingdom of yourbetrothed , wolves work alongside humans.” Abigail’s eyes narrowed. “If that is true, then why is it not the case in Drayzlake?” Caine leaned back in his chair and met her suspicious gaze. “We are old-fashioned in our ways, Beauty. Both the King and the Alpha have yet to catch up with the times. As you know, the Pack of Drayzlake has a rocky history with the humans of the kingdom. The Alpha has trouble trusting in the King.” Abigail’s eyes cleared, and he wondered if she knew the history of their kingdom. Over the centuries, the humans of Drayzlake had been responsible for several massacres on the wolves. It was the reason why the Pack there was the smallest throughout the northern kingdoms. There were only five hundred of them left. “You are the ones who ordered me bitten and kidnapped,” Abigail said after a silence; her tone as defensive as the sudden stiffness of her shoulders. “The wolves are not entirely blameless in this matter.” “Agreed,” Stavros said. “Maybe after you are mated with us, relations between the wolves and the humans will finally improve.” “I shall not be mated with you.” Abigail reached for her goblet and clutched the golden stem. “I am to be married to the Prince of Elderwood.” A silence lapsed before Stavros said quietly, “Is that what you want?” Her eyes flickered from her goblet to the brothers, and Caine glimpsed uncertainty in their dark depths before she lowered her head and gave a sharp nod. “Of course it is what I want.” She pushed the sparse remains of her meal around her plate, refusing to meet their eyes. “I am a princess, and he is a prince. We are meant to be married.”

They drifted into another tense silence, one Caine didn’t know how to fill. So he sat back and finished his wine. Perhaps it was time they showed the Princess she belonged here, rather than telling her. Chapter Six
Stavros glanced at his brother whose silver eyes watched Abigail with intense scrutiny, and he could almost hear the thoughts circling in Caine’s head. They most likely echoed his own. Abigail belonged to them. And hearing her say otherwise was getting damn wearing. Folding his arms over his chest, Stavros fixed her with his eyes. “Let’s not argue anymore. I can think of much more pleasurable ways to pass the time.” She lifted her head, and lust flamed in her eyes when she met his gaze. She opened her mouth, then closed it again, and anticipation thrummed in his veins at the sight of her cheeks reddening. Damn, it’s so easy to make her blush. “I agree,” Caine said, pushing his chair back from the table. “We’ll forget about mating and marriage for a little while and enjoy the night.” “I’m not going to bed with you.” Her words spilled out in a breathy rush. Stavros arched an eyebrow. It wouldn’t be difficult to convince her otherwise, and they would before the end of the night. But for now, they’d wait. He looked at Caine and grinned. “We weren’t considering making love to you this early in the evening.” Her delicate throat worked as she swallowed. “No?” “Of course not.” Caine rose to his feet and held out his hand to her. “We’re going to take you to the Tavern.” “What’s at the Tavern?” Stavros stood too. “Why, our friends, of course. I’m sure they’re looking forward to meeting you.” He waggled his eyebrows at her. “You’re not scared, are you?” Abigail looked at him, her eyes sparking at his daring tone, and then she took Caine’s offered hand. “Not at all.” They left the dining hall together and started down the passage that led to the very center of the underground maze. Stavros glanced at Abigail and smiled at the soft whoosh of her breath. She insisted they didn’t scare her, but he knew she was shaking in her satin slippers. “Are all of your public amenities below ground?” she asked when they turned a corner in the passageway.
Page 31

“No.” Stavros nodded a greeting to one of the servants who passed them by. “We have a small village above ground. The Tavern is the only public space we have down here, except for the soiree halls. This pub has been around for centuries and was used as a gathering place whenever the wolves were attacked.” “I see.” The din of laughter and jeering reached them as they neared the Tavern. Stavros didn’t miss the way her shoulders straightened. He reached for her wrist and squeezed it. “No one will touch you. Not when you are with us.” She nodded, keeping her gaze averted from his. They stepped onto the corridor that housed the pub and Stavros greeted the man and woman who stood outside the Tavern’s door. “This is Princess Abigail,” he said, holding onto her wrist. “She will be staying with us for the time being.” The woman curtsied, and the man bowed before pulling open the pub’s door for them to enter. Stavros nodded his thanks, then stepped into the warmth of the Tavern. He scanned the full room for a table, and when he spotted one in the far corner, he started to move. After weaving a path through the crowd, he gestured to the table. “Sit, Beauty.” She slid onto the wooden bench, appearing more out of place than a cat amongst a pack of wolves. He grinned, then turned to Caine. “I’ll get the drinks.” He made his way to the bar, ignoring the questions that were flung at him from all directions. Everyone wanted to know about the Princess. Why is she here? Does the King know? Where’s the Alpha? Stavros caught the attention of a bartender and called out his order. Then he turned to find Rowena, Alpha Lyson’s youngest daughter, standing beside him. “What are you having, Row?” She shook her head and lifted her sherry. “I’m fine, thank you, Stavros.” She glanced around, then lowered her voice. “My father is resting in his chambers. I think he is waiting to hear from the King.” Stavros nodded. “I know.” Placing a hand on the woman’s shoulder, he noted the crease between her brows. “Don’t worry, Rowena. The King will not attack when we have his daughter within the walls of Fort Bestial.” She gave a small smile and looked in the direction of Caine and Abigail. “She is a very beautiful girl. I’m sure you are glad that she is finally here.” “Veryglad.” He took his drinks from the bartender and fished out a few shillings from his pocket. After passing over the silver coins, he looked down at Rowena and felt a wave of protectiveness for the young girl wash over him. A year ago, Gabriel, the man who everyone had assumed would become her mate, had disappeared, and since then, she’d been a shell of her former bright-eyed self. “Would you like to meet the Princess, Rowena?”
Page 32

“Perhaps another time, Stavros. I only came for a quick drink.” He nodded, understanding her need to leave the crowded pub. She hated small spaces, and hated them even more when they were packed with bodies. After watching her disappear into the crowd, he turned to speak with one of the elders and fielded another load of questions about the Princess. He knew what thoughts were running through the minds of his pack-mates.Will there be another war? He couldn’t answer that for sure, but as he glanced in Abigail’s direction, he knew that if a war broke out over her, she was worth it. ***** Abigail couldn’t sit still. She tapped her foot on the wooden floor beneath the table, she drummed her fingers on the oak surface, she darted glances around the room. She’d never been in a place like this before. Where she came from, these institutions were for men only, except for the occasional whore who offered her services. But both men and women filled this tavern, laughing and chatting together easily. Occasionally she saw one of the males growl if another man brushed against his mate, and the possessive streak made her shiver. What would Caine and Stavros do if one of their pack-mates touched her? She was quite sure that from the way Caine glowered at every male who looked in their direction, all hell would break loose. “Is it usually so full?” Caine leaned back in his seat and studied her with his silver eyes. “I suppose it is.” Beneath the table, his foot connected with her shin, and the memory of Caine’s hot tongue flattened against her clit flashed in her mind. Moist heat arrowed straight to her pussy, and her cheeks burned. From the lift of his brow, he knew exactly what she was remembering. “Is it too hot in here for you?” She pressed her lips together and shook her head. “Are you sure?” The corner of his mouth quirked upward. “You appear quite flushed.” She glared at his insolence, even as her thighs started to quiver. “You are such a rude beast.” His eyes widened and he started to laugh in deep tones that tightened her nipples. “I apologize if I offended,” he said, his eyes glittering as he mocked her. “I was merely inquiring if you were uncomfortable in this heat. That is all.” Unable to think of a suitable retort, she looked away and found herself watching the other brother. Stavros, drinks in hand, was now making his way toward them. Her stomach twisted as she remembered how he’d spoken so intimately with a young blonde girl only moments ago. Was she another conquest of the brothers? Stavros placed two mugs of ale and a goblet of wine of the table, then slid onto the bench beside her. His muscular thigh brushed hers and electricity bolted between them. She lifted the goblet of wine to her lips and drank, but she didn’t taste a drop of the fermented liquid.
Page 33

Caine took a quick swig of his ale, then put his mug down on the table. “What did Rowena have to say?” “She wanted to ensure we knew Lyson’s whereabouts.” Abigail glanced around the room. “Is the Alpha here?” “No.” Stavros pressed his thigh against hers and the heated pressure made her breath catch in her throat. “You would know if the Alpha was here.” She nodded, then released a shaky breath. When she looked up from her wine, she found Caine studying her. “Thirsty?” She frowned and clenched her thighs together. Yes, she was thirsty, but not forwine . Looking across the room, she saw a gray-haired woman take a seat behind a mahogany piano. The woman positioned her fingers over the keys, and a light melody rose in the room. “Do you play, Beauty?” Her eyes moved from the woman to Stavros. “What is that to you?” “I am merely making conversation.” Feeling slightly foolish, she gave a sharp nod. “I play both piano and flute.” “Perhaps you shall play for us sometime,” Caine said. She glanced up at him and shrugged. “I can’t imagine you have many musical instruments in this place.” “Of course we do. What is life without music?” Her eyes widened. “Do you play?” Both Caine and Stavros started to laugh at her question. “Lord no,” Stavros chuckled, sliding an arm around her waist and turning her bones to molten liquid in the process. “Some folks have two left feet. We both have two left hands.” She couldn’t help but laugh at his statement. Of course, she wasn’t in the least bit surprised that they couldn’t play. They were beasts after all. And their hands were entirely too large. Her eyes fell to Caine’s hands where they rested on the table beside his ale, and she swallowed. Too large to play a musical instrument, but the perfect size to play her body. She tore her gaze away and tried to block out the carnal images that assaulted her mind. Her eyes caught on the door and a wave of relief washed over her as Jacintha sauntered through it. The witch’s breasts jiggled within the confines of her dress, drawing the lustful attentions of many of the male patrons who were then scolded by their mates.

Abigail suppressed a smile and watched her flounce toward them. “There you are,” the witch said when she stood before their table, seemingly oblivious to the many domestic arguments she’d caused. “Did you enjoy your meal?” Abigail nodded, remembering how good her dinner had tasted. So rich and textured, cooked to perfection. In fact, it had been better than any meal she’d consumed at the castle. “Will you join us?” Caine asked, moving over on his bench. “Thank you.” She folded into the seat and winked at Abigail. “You have many admirers. Half the pub is staring at you.” She blinked, then felt Stavros place a possessive hand on her thigh. She swallowed. “I was not aware.” Jacintha glanced from Stavros to Caine and smiled. “I am sure your companions arevery aware.” The hand on her thigh tightened. “Where did you eat?” Abigail asked her, fighting to keep her voice steady. “As a matter of fact, I have not yet eaten.” Jacintha looked in the direction of the bar, and Abigail watched her exchange heated glances with a tall, burly man. “But I am quite hungry.” A sardonic smile curved Caine’s lips. “I am sure you will find someone to sate your appetite, Jacintha.” A bubble of laughter spilled from her lips. “I have no doubt.” She looked at Abigail, then rose to her feet. “I think I shall go in search of my supper.” She inclined her head, her smile widening. “Enjoy your night.” “We will,” Stavros muttered beside Abigail as his fingers dipped further between her thighs, making her dress crease between her legs. She closed her eyes briefly, then met Caine’s eyes. His set jaw suggested he knew exactly what his brother was doing beneath the table. As Stavros pressed his hand against her mound, she gasped, and Caine’s eyes flared. “Let’s leave here,” Caine said, rising to his feet with such force that the table shook. “We shall enjoy the night better if we retire to the chambers.” “Yes.” Stavros removed his hand from between her legs, and she released a ragged breath. He took her hand in his. “Let us show you what it feels like to be loved by two men. We will dedicate tonight to your pleasure.” The sinful promise had her cheeks heating further. She swallowed thickly, still caught in Caine’s gaze. Stavros stood and tugged her hand. “Come, Beauty.” She hesitated, but Lord help her, she couldn’t control herself. She slid from the bench and allowed Caine and Stavros to escort her from the stifling heat of the Tavern.

Chapter Seven
The noises of the pub faded as they walked along the torch-lit passageway. What pleasures will they show me now ? Two men and only one woman. It had felt wonderful last night, and she’d been in a state to shock at the time. How good would it feel with all her senses on alert? She closed her eyes briefly as shame washed over her. What would Mother say if she knew ? She’d be shocked, disgusted even, by her daughter’s wanton behavior. But when Stavros pushed open the door to their chambers and Abigail saw the chaise where Caine had devoured her body earlier, all thoughts of what her mother would think fled from her mind. A heavy pulsing started deep between her legs, and her nipples hardened painfully within the confines of her corset. Her eyes flickered to the two men who headed in the direction of the bedchamber where she’d slept the night before. Stavros turned and the sight of his hungry gaze drew a gasp from her lips. “Follow, Beauty.” She hesitated. Giving in to their orders would be like accepting her fate as their mate. If she followed, she would be bowing to the wolves. Her pride would never allow her to do such a thing. As they waited by the door, long moments ticked by, and her heart began to pound heavily in her chest, the beat growing louder until it filled her ears. Then she moved as their combined presence drew her forward like a magnet. She didn’t feel the ground beneath her feet as she glided toward them and slipped through the doorway. She released a shaky breath, and she surveyed the bedchamber, noting how the velvet covers and satin sheets of the bed invited her closer, almost begging her to rumple them with the help of her two companions. The door closed behind her, and she swiveled to find Stavros and Caine watching her. The force of their gazes intensified by the second until she felt their eyes burning into her skin. The peaks of her nipples throbbed and her legs shook uncontrollably. She wanted to beg them to touch her, to make this ache disappear, but at the same time, the slow build of anticipation made her blood sing. Finally, Caine moved. His long, powerful legs carried him forward, his silver eyes never leaving hers. He circled her.Like a wolf observing his prey . She shivered at the thought. How desperately she wanted to be the hunted. He stopped behind her and closed his large palms around her waist, engulfing her body in heat. She sucked in a deep breath and clenched her thighs together. Moisture spread over her inner thighs, and she knew from the way Stavros’s nostrils flared that he could smell her arousal. And then, he too strode forward, stopping only a hair’s breadth from her body. The air around her thickened with testosterone, and she swallowed hard, biting back a plea for mercy. Caine’s hands tightened around her waist as Stavros lowered his head until his lips hovered over hers. He breathed in deeply, his silver eyes holding her gaze. “We’re going to teach you how to fully accept pleasure from two men tonight,” he said, his voice husky

with desire. He brushed his mouth lightly over hers, teasing her with the tip of his tongue. When she parted her lips for him, he pulled away and let out a low chuckle. “You must be patient.” With Stavros in front of her and Caine behind her, she didn’t think she could manage patience at this point. Her entire body trembled with an urgent need she couldn’t disguise, and her breath came in short, sharp bursts. “Please,” she whispered, too far gone to care that she was begging. “Please touch me.” She watched through hazy eyes as Stavros studied her. Then, finally, he lowered his head again and claimed her mouth with his. She moaned against his lips, and when the tips of their tongues touched, a fresh surge of moisture pooled between her legs. Stavros worked the length of his tongue along hers, the abrasive textures rubbing together, the delicious friction making her clit pulse. Then Caine’s hot mouth was on her neck, and his teeth scraped along the delicate skin. She cried out, and the sound disappeared into Stavros’s throat as he curled his tongue around hers and tugged lightly, his rich taste filling her mouth. She moaned again, giving herself over to the wicked sensations that crowded her. Caine continued to gently suck on the curve of her neck, his mouth and tongue awakening the nerve-endings that lay beneath the sensitized skin. His mouth rose to her ear and the tip of his tongue teased the shell. “I love how responsive you are,” he murmured before sucking her earlobe lightly between his lips. A shiver tripped down her spine, and she was glad his hands still supported her waist. If he let go, she was certain she’d collapse to the floor. So caught up in the many responses that two mouths triggered from her, she didn’t realize Stavros was unbuttoning her dress until the material slid from her breasts. His mouth left hers and traveled down over her collarbone to the swells above her corset. She gasped and clutched at his broad shoulders as he ran the flat of his tongue over the soft flesh, then dipped it into the line of her cleavage. Behind her, Caine pulled her dress further down until it pooled at her feet. The rough skin of his hands trailed down to her thighs, and his callused fingertips drew circles on her bare flesh. Stavros still licked and sucked on her breasts as his deft fingers untied the strings of her corset. Then he was pulling the garment from her body while Caine shoved her knickers down her legs. Sharp bursts of pleasure shot from her breasts to her pussy as Stavros drew one of her nipples into his mouth and Caine pushed one hand between her thighs to press against her sex. She locked her legs around Caine’s wrist and a scream tore from her throat when he found her swollen bud. Her pussy began to quake, the walls tightening around only air. “You like that?” Caine rolled her clit between her fingers and pinched lightly. “Is this what you want?” A shudder passed through her at his husky words. She gripped Stavros’s shoulders harder, and sweat beaded between her breasts. “Answer me,” Caine demanded, pressing down on her clit once again. She bit her lip and nodded furiously. “Yes,” she hissed, feeling the knot in her belly tighten painfully. “Good girl.” Caine caressed the tiny bundle of nerves between her legs in light strokes, and her climax threatened. After spending so many nights in that cave, she knew how her body worked, knew what

would make her come. And she was so close.Almost there . Her stomach clenched and light tremors rolled through her body. But then Caine’s hand and Stavros’s mouth simultaneously left her body. Stumbling forward, she let out a sharp cry of protest. “On the bed,” Caine ordered from behind. Stavros nodded and picked her up off the floor. He set her on the bed, his hands pushing her back until she lay flat on the satin sheets. She bunched the sheets in her hands at either side and bit her lip to keep from whimpering. The two men stared down at her, hunger blazing in their silvery eyes. Their harsh gazes roamed her body, leaving no inch of her flesh unnoticed. She ached everywhere. Blood thundered in her ears. Her skin tingled, and fresh waves of moisture coated her pussy. Her heart pounded so hard she was certain the men could hear it. Stavros approached first. His massive body loomed over her as he reached out and trailed his hands over her legs. His harsh touch on her sensitive skin had her pussy contracting again, and she wet her lips as his hands urged her thighs apart. For long moments, his gaze rested on her bare sex, and then his fingers were there, tracing the swollen lips of her cunt. Her hips jerked off the bed at his intimate touch and tiny tremors of need rolled over her body. Through heavy-lidded eyes, she watched Caine take in the sight of his brother giving her pleasure. Then he stalked around the bed and stood at the edge, quickly shedding his shirt and pants and boots until he was naked. Oh my. She drank in the sight of the thick, heavy cock that jutted proudly from a dark thatch of hair between his thighs, and her clit leaped in response. Stavros found the aching knot and flicked his thumb over it, drawing another moan from her lips. She glanced down at where his fingers were buried between her legs and found him watching her with glittering eyes and a small smile playing on his lips. “This gives you pleasure, Beauty?” She ground her hips into his hand in reply, not caring that he knew he was driving her crazy. How could she give a damn when it felt this good? His smile widened, and he lowered his head, replacing his hand with his lips. The tip of his tongue swirled around her clit, then thrust inside her cunt, filling her up. Stavros lapped her up greedily, and mesmerized by the contrast of his inky black hair against the creamy flesh of her thighs, she watched him make love to her with his mouth. When he hooked his tongue back to find her sweet, pillowed spot, her head fell back, and her mouth opened in a silent scream as a climax exploded in her belly. Her pussy clenched around the length of his tongue, but he didn’t stop. He licked her up, sending her body into a mindless frenzy. The bed dipped beside her, and Caine’s large hands swallowed her breasts, his skilled fingers pinching and twisting her throbbing nipples, drawing them into even tighter peaks. Before she could cry out, his lips came down on hers and his tongue invaded her mouth. Her head spun, she couldn’t think. The two men dizzied her with the pleasure they unleashed on her body. Stavros licked her pussy and sucked her clit. Caine probed the depths of her mouth with his

tongue, tormented and her breasts with his hands. Another climax erupted in her lower belly, and her pussy quaked again around Stavros’s tongue. She shivered and bucked as blinding colors exploded behind her eyes. Stavros and Caine brought her back down to earth gently. Caine’s kiss softened, his tongue now caressing hers in slow strokes while the fingers on her nipples relaxed and soothed the hard peaks. Between her thighs, Stavros tempered his assault on her pussy, licking her slowly until the spasms died. Both men rose from her body and exchanged glances over her head. Stavros gave a sharp nod to his brother and looked down at her, licking her juices from his lips and lowering his hands to his belt. In a voice raspy with need, he gave the order. “Turn around, Beauty.” She blinked, barely able to understand the words in her state of post-climax. She watched, hypnotized, as Stavros released his cock from the confines of his pants. Her mouth dried and once again, her pulse started to race. She glanced from Stavros to Caine, her eyes widening in amazement.Even their cocks are identical! “Turn around.” Caine repeated his brother’s order as his cock jerked toward her. Helpless to defy them, she rolled over and rose up on hands and knees. She crawled to the edge of the bed and felt it dip behind her as Stavros joined her on the covers. She didn’t turn around, instead focusing her attention on Caine’s throbbing shaft. “Do you know what I want you to do?” he asked, taking his cock in his hand and pumping it in slow strokes. Her thighs began to shake as a dull throb started between her legs. “Yes,” she whimpered. “Good girl.” He guided his cock to her mouth and pressed the broad head against her lips. She darted out her tongue to lick away the drop of pearly liquid from the swollen head, then parted her lips to let him slide into her mouth. The thick cock filled her, pushing right to the back of her throat. She swirled her tongue around him and sucked him in further until his low groan reached her ears. “That’s it,” Caine mumbled, his fingers twining into her hair, holding her head in place as he set a slow rhythm. The hot steel of his cock slid over her tongue, in and out, flooding her senses with his earthy taste. She sucked and licked greedily, while her own lust still hummed in her veins. His groans of approval coated her pussy with moisture, and his tightening grip on her hair made her feel like the most powerful woman in the kingdom. How strange that giving him this pleasure could feel so good. When Stavros’s warm hands enclosed her waist and the head of his cock nudged between her thighs, she groaned around Caine. He continued to pump his cock into her mouth as Stavros slid inside her pussy, and the sensation of having two cocks in her at the same time electrified her. Closing her eyes, she sucked Caine harder while Stavros increased his tempo and thrust inside her until his balls slapped against her buttocks. With Caine filling her mouth and Stavros stretching her pussy, she nearly lost her mind. Screams tore from her throat, even as Caine slid over her tongue in an unrelenting rhythm. Stavros dug his fingers into the flesh on her hips, bruising her skin as he drove into her in sharp, staccato thrusts. The sounds of
Page 39

sex -- screams, groans, racing heartbeats -- echoed in her ears. She couldn’t breathe, couldn’t think. This heightened level of pleasure was almost unbearable, yet she couldn’t get enough. And when she came, it was the strongest climax she’d ever experienced. Wave after wave of release crashed over her body, tightening her belly and making her pussy ripple around Stavros. Rivulets of sweat trickled between her breasts, and her legs would have collapsed beneath her if Stavros hadn’t been holding her so tight. He continued to pump into her, driving her to a second, even more intense climax. Finally, almost simultaneously, both he and Caine exploded inside her, and their roars echoed in the room. In one snap of his hips, Caine’s come filled her mouth, pooling on her tongue and splashing against the back of her throat. Behind her, Stavros pumped his hot seed into her clenching pussy until he collapsed over her back. His heavy breathing tickled her neck before he rolled off her. “You did very well,” Caine gasped, releasing her hair as he pulled out of her mouth. His silver eyes sparkled with approval and a warm rush of pleasure rippled over her body. He lay down beside her and reached for her, but Stavros got there first, wrapping a possessive arm around her waist and hoisting her against his hard chest. “Mine,” he mumbled into her hair. A low growl of the beast within rolled up out of Caine’s chest, and she was surprised to find that the glimpse of the wolf didn’t scare her. Instead, knowing that these two men desired her so badly exhilarated her. As Caine continued to glare at his brother, Abigail couldn’t help but laugh. His eyes widened, and then his lips curved in a devilish smile as he reached out to cup her breast. “Tonight, he may hold you,” he whispered as he flicked his thumb across her nipple. He glanced over her head and she knew he was watching his brother. “But tomorrow, you shall sleep in my arms.” He raised an eyebrow at Stavros. “Isn’t that correct, brother?” Stavros tightened his hold on her body, and she felt him bristle. “Yes,” he muttered eventually. “We will share.” Abigail smiled and closed her eyes, letting sleep take hold. Locked between these wolves, the tension in her body melted away, leaving her limbs feeling like liquid. Heat radiated from her two lovers, winding around her and keeping her blood warm. She was aware of nothing except Caine’s steady breathing and Stavros’s strong arms around her waist. Chapter Eight
When Caine opened his eyes the following morning, he was greeted with the sight of a sleeping Abigail. A smile lifted his lips as he drank in the pouting mouth and the thickly lashed eyelids. He’d waited over a year for this moment, to wake up beside the woman destined to be his mate, and now that it had arrived, it felt even better than he’d imagined. She was theirs. All theirs. On the other side of Abigail, Stavros sat up and stretched his arms over his head as he yawned. He met Caine’s eyes over Abigail’s sleeping form and broke into a wide grin. “I don’t believe I’ve ever slept so well,” he whispered before dropping a kiss on her forehead.

Caine nodded and stacked his hands behind his head. “Me neither.” Memories of the night before flashed across his mind, and his cock twitched beneath the sheets. “She responded well, wouldn’t you agree?” “Yes. Very well.” He glanced down at Abigail again and remembered how eager she’d been to learn last night. Her conservative upbringing had worried him over the past few months, and he’d been concerned that she might balk at the thought of being made love to by two men. He smirked. She certainly surprised us . He and his brother had shared many women over the years, most of whom were more experienced than Abigail. Never had any of them shown the openness and enthusiasm that Abigail had displayed last night. She hadn’t lost her strength until both he and Stavros had reached their peaks. Even while she’d climaxed, she’d continued to take his cock in her mouth, her sweet suction never letting up. He shook his head in amazement and ran a light finger over Abigail’s smooth cheek. You’re so damn perfect, Beauty. Stavros stroked his hand through her tangled hair and broke the silence. “Before she fell asleep, I think she allowed herself to believe that she belongs with us.” “Hopefully she will feel the same way when she wakens.” Stavros chuckled. “She has a will of iron, brother. If she was any other woman, she’d have begged you to take her home from the cave on that very first full moon.” He lifted his gaze to Caine’s and shrugged. “We have a fight on our hands with this one. It will be easy keeping her here as she has no way out. But it will be difficult to convince her that shewants to stay. And we can’t mate with her unless she is willing.” “Well, I’m ready for a fight.” He’d tear down this fort with his bare hands if it meant keeping her. “Glad to hear it.” A soft sigh fell from Abigail’s lips and Caine’s cock leaped in response. What is she dreaming about ? Did he and Stavros feature? He certainly hoped they did. “We will take her further tonight,” he told Stavros, his eyes never leaving her face. “We’ll show her how it truly feels to be filled by two men.” A door opened outside, and Caine heard footsteps in the entrance room. He sat up and watched the bedchamber’s door swing open, revealing a flustered Jacintha. She didn’t bat an eyelash at the sight of the three sharing a bed. Instead, she turned worried blue eyes on Caine. “What’s the matter?” he asked her, swinging his legs over the side of the bed and reaching for his clothing. “Lyson wishes to speak with you and Stavros.” Caine nodded and glanced at Stavros. His brother was already on his feet, pulling on his clothes.
Page 41

They dressed quickly and quietly, careful not to wake Abigail, then followed Jacintha from the room. Before closing the door, Caine glanced back at Abigail and let his gaze roam her face. Again, images of her naked and writhing flickered in his mind’s eye, and he swallowed hard to tamp down his desire. Hopefully, there would be many more nights like that to look forward to. Stavros cleared his throat, drawing Caine’s attention from her. He let the door close and left the chambers with Jacintha and his brother. “Did Lyson give any indication of why he wants to see us?” Stavros asked the witch as they descended the flight of stairs that led to Lyson’s personal chambers. Jacintha shook her head. “He did not. But I have a feeling he has had word from the King.” At the bottom of the stairs, they took a right and followed the torch lit passageway to the last door. Stavros rapped his knuckles on the wood in a sharp knock. Seconds later, the door swung open, and a servant ushered them inside. They passed through the parlor, and Caine bowed his head to Violet, the Alpha’s mate. The older woman gave him a small smile and kissed both his cheeks. Then she turned to Stavros and did the same. “He is quite worried,” she said in her soft tones. “And he is too old for this. The sooner you two take on the role as Alpha, the better.” Caine nodded and glanced at the door to the library. “He is in there?” “Yes.” Violet stepped aside and gestured to the door. “Go ahead. And please tell him to get some rest when he’s finished. He might listen to you.” He smiled at her, then turned to Jacintha. “Will you go back to the chambers? I don’t want Abigail to wake up alone.” “Of course.” The witch bowed to Violet, then turned on her heel and swept away, skirts billowing behind her. ***** Stavros watched Jacintha disappear around a corner, then stepped forward and pushed open the door to the library. He looked back at Caine, and together, they crossed the threshold to face the Alpha. Closing the door behind him, Stavros searched the room with his gaze and felt his heart sink when he saw Lyson. The older man seemed to have aged a decade overnight. The lines on his face appeared to have deepened and all color had drained from his face, leaving him gray and worn. His wide shoulders drooped forward and his usually sharp silver eyes were unfocused and worried. Stavros squared his shoulders and glanced quickly at his brother before speaking. “What happened, Lyson?” The old man heaved a sigh and leaned back against a bookcase. “The King has sent more word. It seems his rage has only worsened. He is threatening war…” Stavros heard his brother swear under his breath and repeated the curse in his head.
Page 42

“Do you know when he plans to attack?” Caine asked quietly after a few seconds of tense silence. “No. But I suppose he is gathering men as we speak.” Lyson looked from Caine to Stavros, his expression growing even more serious as he set his jaw. “He mentions in his letter that he will contact Elderwood and Loireville. He even goes as far to say he’ll bring England, Ireland, and Wales into this too…” Stavros sighed at the King’s stupidity. There was no way the British Isles would ever involve themselves in a war such as this one. They preferred to ignore the kingdoms of Elderwood, Drayzlake, Loireville, and Riverend, otherwise known as the Quartet. Witches, wolves, vampires, and fairies were far too messy for the British monarchy. And even the other kingdoms of the Quartet would leave them to fight among themselves, not wanting to get involved in a war between wolves and humans. It was widespread knowledge that every other kingdom in the land considered the old-fashioned ways of Drayzlake to be ridiculous. And Stavros was beginning to view it the same way. Maybe when he and Caine became Alpha, they could put into place a strategy that would change Drayzlake for the better. “So what now?” Caine asked as he began to pace the room. “Do we arm ourselves? Will there be any more negotiations?” The tightness in his brother’s voice reminded Stavros of yet another reason why they should worry. Not only would a war with the humans ruin the peace of the kingdom, but it would also ruin any chance of getting Abigail to accept them. “We do have one last thread of hope,” Lyson said carefully. “But it is not one I wish to count on until the proof arrives.” Stavros narrowed his eyes. What could possibly save the kingdom from war at this point? “What proof?” he asked, glancing at Caine. His brother looked back at him and shrugged in a gesture that said he didn’t know what was going on either. “A fortnight ago, I sent an invitation to Elderwood at the advice of Jacintha. Like all of us, she anticipated that this situation would bring the kingdom to the brink of war, and she recommended that I ask the Prince of Elderwood to come and stay with us.” Stavros furrowed his brow. Yes, Prince Philip had helped them to secure Abigail as their mate but surely he wouldn’t want to involve himself and Elderwood in this mess. Caine’s voice broke into his thoughts. “Did the Prince agree to come?” “Yes,” Lyson replied. “He did. He is due to arrive before nightfall.” “Really?” Stavros turned to Caine and saw his amazement mirrored in his brother’s face. He looked back at Lyson. “The Prince is willing to help us?” “It would seem so.” Lyson gave a weak smile. “But I suppose it could be said that he is already involved. After all, he is the one who started this. If he hadn’t informed us that Abigail is your mate, she could have been married to him by the time we realized.”
Page 43

The thought made Stavros’s stomach twist. He didn’t know what they would have done if she’d already been married. Caine began to nod. “Philip is betrothed to Abigail. Perhaps the King will listen to him better than he has listened to us.” The Alpha inclined his head. “That is the hope.” Stavros whooshed out a breath and rested a hand on a wooden shelf. “Then let’s pray he arrives.” “Indeed.” Lyson rubbed a hand over his forehead, and the weary gesture reminded Stavros of Violet’s request. “You should rest.” Lyson smiled and his eyes brightened in humor for a brief second before dimming once again. “Those are my wife’s words.” He straightened and walked toward the door. “But perhaps she is right. A little sleep would do me no harm.” Stavros watched the tired Alpha leave the room, then turned to his brother. “What are we going to do?” Caine’s furrowed brow and tight jaw spoke volumes of his inner struggle. His eyes moved from the door to Stavros, and he shook his head. “I suppose we wait. What else can we do?” They stood there in silence for a few minutes, until Violet bounded through the library doors, eyes bright with excitement. “Jacintha just sent word,” she said breathlessly. “He has come. The Prince of Elderwood is here!” A welcome rush of relief washed over Stavros, and he raised an eyebrow at Caine. “It looks like we won’t have to wait, brother. The time has come to meet the man who is to marry our mate.” Caine barked a laugh at the ceiling and grabbed the door before it swung closed in the wake of Violet’s sweeping exit. “I’m ready if you are.” A slow grin spread across Stavros’s face. “Then, let’s go.” Chapter Nine
When Abigail blinked open her eyes that morning, it took a few seconds for her to remember where she was. She rolled onto her back and stared up at the high ceiling, painfully aware of the emptiness on either side of her body where the wolves had lain the night before. Damn them for leaving me alone. Annoyance pricked her mind as she sat up slowly and scanned the luxuriously decorated room through sleepy eyes. She sighed. Not a soul to be seen . As she slipped her legs from the bed, the twinge between her thighs brought memories of the previous night’s activities flooding into her mind. Fresh need engulfed her body as she remembered how both Stavros and Caine had filled her simultaneously, taking her to levels of pleasure she’d never known when she’d experienced only one of them at a time.
Page 44

And it felt right. Irritated by the nagging voice at the back of her mind, she gave her head a quick shake. How could such a thing be right? It was primitive and savage…and delicious. A heavy sigh fell from her lips and she threw herself back on the bed. She could tell herself now that making love with two men was wrong, but she knew that as soon as they walked through the door, all thoughts of right and wrong would flee her mind and her body’s instincts would take over. The more time she spent with Caine and Stavros, the more she wanted to trust in those instincts. She could imagine it now. A life with two wolves who could drive her insane with pleasure whenever she desired it, giving her release she was certain no other could provide. It was such an indulgent thought, such adangerous thought… Enough, Abigail, she told herself, once again pushing to her feet. She would focus her attention elsewhere, at least until they returned. At that moment, she heard the door to the chambers open outside the room, and the click-clack of footsteps on the marble floor of the entrance room reached her ears. She held her breath, expecting the raw power of either Stavros or Caine to fill the bedroom and overwhelm her senses as the door swung open. Instead, an older, curly-haired woman stepped inside with a tray of food. The woman curtsied when she saw Abigail in the bed, then placed the tray on the wooden table beside the dresser. “Breakfast, Princess.” Abigail blinked, then reached for the silk negligee that Jacintha had provided her with yesterday. She slipped it over her shoulders and belted it around her waist, then went to the table to eat. Each bite delighted her taste buds, and she didn’t lift her head from her plate until she’d swallowed the last piece of sausage. Then, handing the plate back to the housekeeper, she accepted a mug of hot tea. “Where is everyone?” “The brothers are entertaining a guest who has recently arrived,” the woman informed her in pleasant, warm tones. “I am sure they will return soon.” A wide smile brightened her face, making the creases around her sparkling eyes deepen. “They are quite smitten with you, I believe.” Abigail couldn’t help but smile back. The woman’s manner was friendly and kind, and Abigail found herself liking her very much. “What is your name?” “Delia,” she replied, taking the empty mug from Abigail’s hands. “I keep house for the brothers.” “Do you like your position here?” “I do indeed, Princess. I used to serve the Alpha, but when Caine and Stavros came of age and moved to their own quarters, I went with them.” Delia’s smile widened further, her eyes twinkling with mischief. “They can be quite a handful, those boys. I try to keep as much order as I can, but it is not always possible with them.”
Page 45

Abigail laughed at the thought of this woman trying to control Caine and Stavros. It was impossible to imagine those wolves taking orders from anyone. From what she’d seen, they played by their own rules. “Now, my lady, how would you like a hot bath?” “I would love one.” “Good. I shall send for water right away.” Delia curtsied again and bustled from the room, leaving Abigail to smile after her. The woman’s open warmth was a welcome change to the strait-laced servants she was accustomed to back home. Even her ladies-in-waiting didn’t speak about anything but the weather. Abigail frowned. As a matter of fact, her polite companions bored her senseless. It was another reason why she had always secretly looked forward to the full moon over the past few months. Not only did she receive the greatest pleasures from the wolf at the cave, but she also escaped from the castle’s strict rules and enjoyed the company of the endlessly fascinating Jacintha during the carriage ride. After Abigail’s bath, Delia retrieved a case of new clothing and underwear that Jacintha had picked out for her. The housekeeper laced the front of Abigail’s dress and stepped back to admire her. “Lovely,” she stated, clapping her hands together. “The green color brings out your eyes.” Delia started to turn away, then looked back at Abigail and waggled her graying eyebrows. “I’m sure the brothers will approve.” Abigail blushed as warmth spread through her body. As much as she hated to admit it, she wanted the wolves to approve. After another hour or so of fussing, Delia left to take care of the washing. Abigail sat on the chaise in the sitting room and picked up the book she’d been reading yesterday. But the book didn’t hold her attention. A heavy dose of restlessness had her shifting on the chaise every few seconds and her eyes darting to the door. Anxious for their return, she tapped her fingers mindlessly on the arm of the chaise. It seemed that the more time she spent with the wolves, the more she craved their company. Finally, she gave up and set the book down on the low table that rested in front of the hearth. She got to her feet and did a quick turn about the room. Now that Delia was gone, she could appreciate the fact that she was alone for one of the first times in her life. At the castle, there was always someone with her. A servant, a lady-in-waiting, her mother. She scarcely had time to breathe, let alone think. Coming to a stop, she closed her eyes and spread out her arms. How freeing it was to stand in a room in the middle of the day and not have someone watching her. She spun on her heel, then spun again until dizziness had her falling back onto the chaise. She giggled at her own silliness, then stopped abruptly when the door opened. Jacintha stepped inside the room, and her blue eyes found Abigail’s. “I’m sorry I left you alone, Princess,” she said as she glided forward, her large bosom heaving within the confines of her red dress. She lowered herself to the chaise, and Abigail noticed the excitement sparkling in the witch’s eyes. “What has happened?” Jacintha’s red hair bounced around her shoulders as she shook her head. “Nothing, Princess. Fort Bestial has a visitor, that’s all.”
Page 46

Abigail narrowed her eyes, but decided not to press for information. Undoubtedly, she’d discover the identity of this visitor soon enough. “Are Stavros and Caine coming?” “Yes. They are bathing in the Alpha’s quarters and when they finish, they shall return.” Abigail nodded and was about to say more, when the door opened yet again. This time Caine entered the chambers, closely followed by Stavros. It was as if the sheer strength of their presence took over the room, making it seem unbearably small. As two pairs of silver eyes bored into Abigail’s skin, the breath locked in her throat and her breasts tightened. She glanced from one man to the other, then released a shaky breath and nodded a polite greeting. A smile tilted Stavros’s tempting mouth and he arched a brow. “You missed us?” His expression was contagious. She pursed her lips, but the flash in Caine’s eyes told her he knew she was fighting a smile. They really don’t miss anything, do they? Caine strolled forward and sat on the armchair opposite the chaise. “I trust you have eaten breakfast?” “Of course.” “Good.” He glanced at the clock on the mantle, then nodded to his brother. “Let’s take Abigail outside.” He looked back at her, his eyes searching hers. “I’m sure you could do with some fresh air.” She nodded eagerly as a sudden longing to breathe in the scent of the forest overwhelmed her, momentarily releasing her from the need that throbbed deep inside her pussy. “Then let’s go,” Stavros said cheerfully, holding out a hand to her. She took it, captivated by the sight of his large palm swallowing her small one. She tore her gaze away and turned to Jacintha. “Is there a shawl I can use?” The redhead rose from the chaise and hurried into the bedchamber, returning seconds later with a mauve, woolen shawl. “There you are, my lady.” “Thank you.” She wrapped it around her shoulders. “Will you join us?” Jacintha shook her head, and her blue eyes darkened. She looked at Caine and Stavros, a mischievous smile curling her full lips. “I think I shall see what our visitor is up to.” And with that, she gave a quick curtsey and swept from the room. Abigail stared after the witch in bemusement, quite certain that whatever Jacintha was planning to do, it involved sexual pleasure. “Beauty?” She glanced up at Caine and blushed at the knowing smile that played on his lips. He offered her his arm and she took it, her other hand still firmly encased by Stavros’s palm.

Together, they strolled down the passageway to a set of stairs. And then Caine released her and swept her body up in his arms. She gave a yelp as she was crushed against his hard chest, and stared up at him, but he didn’t bat an eyelid. “What are you doing?” she whispered. “It is a long flight of stairs,” Stavros said from behind them, amusement lilting his tone. “Surely, a princess would prefer to be carried rather than walk it.” She pressed her lips together and held onto Caine’s neck as they climbed the many steps. So close to the hard power of his body, it was all she could do not to squirm against him. Wetness surged to her core, coating her pussy. His clean, masculine scent filled her head and the heat of his hands on her body seared through the material of her dress to burn her skin. It was with great relief that she slid from his arms when they reached the top of the staircase. Sucking in a deep breath, she glanced around the tiny stone room they stood in. Stavros brushed past her and pulled open a heavy wooden door, letting in bright sunlight and fresh air. “Come, Beauty,” Stavros urged from where he stood outside. She moved forward and stepped into the sunshine, Caine close at her side. The sight that greeted her stopped her in her tracks. So this is Fort Bestial. She’d heard many things about the wolves’ lair over the years, but not one tale had led her to expect this. “It’s just like anywhere else,” she murmured, then flushed when she realized she’d spoken aloud. Stavros touched her elbow and looked down at her, a knowing glint in his eyes. “What else did you expect?” Her cheeks heated as she found herself at a loss for an answer. What could she say? That she’d expected primitive conditions not fit for dogs? No, she couldn’t possibly admit that. Fort Bestial reminded her of her own village, except that it was surrounded by a high stone wall. Dozens of huts like the one she’d just stepped out of were everywhere, and she guessed that each hut led to a family’s underground quarters. Patches of the greenest grass, perfect sites for children to play on, dotted the land. As they walked through the village, she admired the tulips and daffodils that sprang from the earth along the streets. And the streets are cobbled ! She glanced at the ground beneath her feet, noting the good quality of the stone. It was nothing like the dark basalt or marble so often found in the four kingdoms of the Quartet, so she assumed it had been imported from overseas. Italy probably. The wolves themselves went about their business just like humans did. She saw carpenters working on furniture in their workshops, and the aroma of freshly baked bread wafted from the bakery on the corner to tease her nostrils. The women all seemed to know one another and stopped in the middle of the street to converse, while their children tugged on their hands. And she was quite aware that her presence between Stavros and Caine was attracting much attention as many pairs of eyes bored into the back of her head.

They had soon left the hustle and bustle of the village behind, and when wide, sloping lawns filled her vision, she stopped and drank in the lovely sight. Daffodils sprouted here and there from the blanket of green, and she longed to throw herself into the grass and inhale the sweet scent of flowers. “Have you always lived here?” she asked when they began to walk again. “Yes,” Stavros said, kicking a stone out of the path. “After our parents died when we were twelve, Lyson raised us.” She nodded, absorbing this new piece of information. So the brothers were orphans. She hadn’t even considered the whereabouts of their parents until now. As they walked on, her heart clenched at the thought of them losing their parents so young. “How did they die?” she asked quietly. “A human attack.” Caine’s tone was matter-of-fact, but still she felt guilt well up inside her. “After their death, it was decided that the Divide should be put in place.” She thought about his words for a few seconds, then glanced from him to Stavros. “How is it that you want to mate with a human after what happened to your parents?” The low chuckle that fell from Stavros’s lips surprised her further. “We have nothing against humans,” he said, reaching out to push a stray strand of her hair behind her ear. “We have great friends who are human.” “It just so happens that some humans are more ignorant than others,” Caine continued, placing a hand lightly on her shoulder. He shrugged. “That’s the way of life.” She narrowed her eyes. “Are you referring to the people of Drayzlake when you mention ignorant humans?” He looked her square in the eye and gave a curt nod. “Yes. And wouldn’t you agree, after seeing what lies inside our stone walls, that the people of Drayzlake have been misled in regards to how we wolves live our lives.” The answer resounded in her head.Yes . Theywere misled. The past two days had proven that much. But her pride refused to allow her to admit it. “What did you think of Delia?” Stavros asked after a drawn-out, tension-filled silence. She relaxed her shoulders and clutched at the neutral subject. “She is quite lovely. And from what she told me, it is you who are responsible for the gray hairs on her head.” Both Stavros and Caine broke into laughter at her words, and warm satisfaction hummed in her veins. She loved making them laugh. “That’s correct,” Caine said, his mirth-filled gaze holding hers. “We were a handful when we were younger.” Stavros reached across her to push his brother. “And we still are. That poor woman has been run ragged by our mischief over the years.”

She grinned, then squealed as something gripped her knees. Looking down, she found a young child with its arms wrapped around her legs. The head of white-blonde curls tilted back, and an adorable face of freckles, blue eyes, batting lashes, and a toothy smile looked up at her. “Hello there,” she said, unaccustomed to such close proximity to an unfamiliar child, but enjoying the open warmth of the girl all the same. “What’s your name?” “Martha.” The child’s smile widened and a precious dimple appeared in one pudgy cheek. “Are you the Princess?” Abigail glanced at Stavros and Caine, then nodded at the little girl. “I am.” Appearing satisfied with the answer, Martha released Abigail’s legs and leaped into Caine’s arms to plant a smacking kiss on his cheek. He tossed her in the air, making her squeal, and then passed her to Stavros, who did the same. Abigail watched the spectacle in amazement, feeling her heart swell at the sight of the two intimidating figures laughing and teasing with the child. What kind of fathers will they make ? They certainly wouldn’t be as distant and stiff as her own father had been. No. If their relationship with this child was anything to go by, they would be warm and loving. A sudden longing to see them as the fathers toher child engulfed her soul, and her throat tightened so hard she could barely breathe. She closed her eyes briefly, warding off the irrational longing, but the sharp ache in her heart refused to disappear. When she opened her eyes, she found Caine’s gaze boring into her. She couldn’t read his dark expression, but the way he glanced from her to the child made her wonder if he knew exactly what thoughts ran through her mind. A woman’s voice distracted her from her sentimental wonderings, and she turned to see a blonde woman, her cheeks reddened from exertion, rushing toward them. When she came closer, Abigail could see how closely she resembled little Martha. “There you are,” the woman said, eyes fixed on the child. “How many times have I told you not to run away when I’m talking to Madame Cole?” Martha looked guiltily at the woman, then pointed at Abigail. “I wanted to see the Princess, Mama.” The mother raised her gaze from her daughter to settle on Abigail, and her cheeks reddened further. “Princess.” She dipped in a curtsey, then grabbed Martha’s hand. “I am so sorry for disturbing your walk.” Abigail shook her head and smiled. “Not at all. Your daughter is lovely.” “Yes.” The woman nodded and stroked a hand through Martha’s glossy curls. “But she can be quite the troublemaker.” Stavros chose that moment to make the introductions. “Princess, this is Imelda. She is the Alpha’s eldest daughter.”

“It’s nice to meet you, Imelda.” “And you.” The woman curtsied again and began to walk away, pulling Martha along with her. “We shall leave you now to enjoy the rest of your walk.” “Goodbye,” Martha shouted and blew a kiss. Abigail laughed and blew one back. “What a sweet child,” she said when the mother and daughter had disappeared into the distance. Stavros held out his arm to her once again and winked. “I think she liked you.” Caine came around her other side and took her free arm. “Who wouldn’t?” The notes of warm approval in their tones made her blush with pleasure. She tipped her head back and let the sun beam down on her face. The day was perfect, and she was damned if she’d let any more of her preconceived notions ruin it for her. Chapter Ten
They spent the day in the fresh air, wandering around the lawns and enjoying the sunshine. In the late afternoon, Stavros fetched crusty bread and crisp apples from the village, and they sank into the grass to eat. As they ate, Caine couldn’t tear his gaze from Abigail. The skirts of her dress billowed around her as she bit into an apple and gave a tiny moan of pleasure. Her tongue darted out to swipe juice from her lips, and she grinned when she caught him looking at her. “I don’t think I’ve ever tasted such delicious apples,” she said before taking another bite. “No?” He lifted a brow and reached for one. “I would have thought the castle would provide the finest of fruits.” She shrugged her slender shoulders. “Perhaps the apple trees grow better in this part of the land.” “Maybe.” He bit into the fruit and let the tangy juices roll over his tongue. At Abigail’s squeal, he looked up and followed the direction of her gaze to the center of the lawns. A white rabbit, its long ears high above its head, sat watching them. Then, as if the creature realized it had been noticed, it scampered away into the distance. “How strange,” she murmured after the animal had disappeared. “You are wolves, yet rabbits feel safe enough to stay within your walls.” Stavros lay back in the grass and picked the large daisy that was growing beside him. Caine watched his brother hold the flower out to Abigail and trail the petals along the curve of her throat. “We hunt in the forest,” Stavros told her. “Never in the fort.” Abigail caught the stem of the daisy between her fingers and tugged the flower from Stavros’ grasp. “Do you often hunt when it isn’t a full moon?”
Page 51

Caine leaned back against the tree he was sitting beside and tucked his hands behind his head. “Sometimes. It’s very freeing to run through the forest, especially on a night when there aren’t many other wolves around. But it is only on a full moon when weneed to turn.” “How do you make yourselves turn?” “We simply think it.” Stavros wrapped a finger around a strand of Abigail’s hair and pulled lightly. “The wolf is imbedded within us. Changing into the beast is like undressing. Everything is pulled away until you are in your barest form.” Abigail’s fingers picked at the petals of the daisy as she observed the brothers. “Does the change feel good?” Caine nodded. “It’s like giving over to your basic instincts. Highly thrilling and often erotic.” Abigail’s eyes searched his for a few seconds before dropping to the flower between her fingers. “How would one go about turning a human?” A smile tugged at Caine’s lips, and he caught his brother’s knowing eyes. He knew what Stavros was thinking. She wants what we have. Her soul is surrendering to us. “A human is turned after the bite of their mate,” Stavros said eventually, rising up on his elbows. “The human must be mated with a wolf for at least three moons before the turning process can begin.” “Is it painful?” “No.” Caine plucked the petal-less daisy from Abigail’s fingers, forcing her to meet his gaze. “It is said to be distinctly pleasurable.” He dropped the remains of the flower onto the grass and cupped her chin between his thumb and forefinger, then leaned forward and swiped his tongue along the seam of her mouth. “You will like it.” Her pupils dilated, and her lips parted. Then, as if gripping the last of her senses, she shook her head. “I won’t like it, because I shall never experience it.” A grin spread across his face at her feeble words and he raised a sardonic eyebrow. “Are you sure about that, Beauty?” Her eyes widened and then fluttered closed when he slanted his mouth over hers and slipped his tongue between her lips. She moaned softly as he stroked his tongue along hers, deepening the kiss to probe the sweet depths of her mouth. Stavros coughed loudly beside them. Irritated, Caine pulled back and looked at his brother. “What?” Stavros tipped his head in the direction of the village. “We have company.” Caine looked toward the village and laughed at the sight of the fort’s children bounding in their direction. “It looks like you have some admirers, Beauty,” Stavros noted before getting to his feet.

Caine stood too and held out his hand to Abigail. She took it and rose from the grass, green eyes sparkling as she watched the children skip toward them. One little boy launched himself at the Princess and a rich laugh fell from her lips. “She is very good with them,” Stavros said quietly as they watched the spectacle. “Yes.” Caine crossed his arms over his chest and felt his heart swell at the sight of Abigail twirling in the grass with one of the young girls. She looked so perfectly at ease, her lips stretched wide in a happy smile as she delighted in the squeals and chatter of the children. “She will make a wonderful mother.” “Indeed she will.” After an hour of laughter and fun, Caine and Stavros managed to disentangle the Princess from the mass of children. “You will come back soon, won’t you, Princess?” one of the children called out as they walked back toward the village. “Of course,” Abigail replied in a lilting tone that Caine hadn’t heard before. “You can teach me to play your games.” “You must spend all your time with children back at the castle,” Stavros said as they strolled through the streets of the village. “Not at all. Children in our parts are to be seen and not heard. Their play is restricted, and I have rarely spent time with a little boy or girl since my own childhood.” Caine glanced at her in surprise. What a strange way to raise children. “How is it possible to keep them so restrained? I don’t know how the mothers here would keep their children under control if they couldn’t run free.” She shrugged. “It is the way of the humans, I’m afraid.” “Perhaps there are some things that the wolves do better,” Stavros noted, looking down at Abigail. Caine broke into a grin at his brother’s wry words and watched Abigail’s gaze dart between the two of them. Then her soft lips curved into a tiny smile, and she inclined her head. “Perhaps so.” When underground again, Caine and Stavros left Abigail with Delia in their chambers to dress for dinner, then went in search of their guest. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen her laugh so openly,” Stavros commented as they rounded a corner in the passageway. “Nor I.” Caine couldn’t help but grin. “She’s coming around.” “I told you she would.” Stavros grinned too. “You should have more faith in me, brother.” They made their way past Lyson’s quarters to the guest chambers. When they knocked on the door, a flushed, bright-eyed Jacintha pulled it open. Caine didn’t need three guesses to know what she’d been up

to. “Come in,” she said, stepping back to allow their entrance. They stepped inside, and Caine’s eyes searched the room for any sign of the Prince. The door that led to the bedchamber swung open and Philip appeared, his blonde hair tousled and his shirt half-open. A smile spread across his handsome face. “You are lucky you didn’t arrive twenty minutes ago,” the man said lightly. He strode to where Jacintha stood and pressed his lips to the ivory column of her neck. “Who knows what you might have seen?” Stavros chuckled, and Caine felt a smile tug at his lips. From the brief time he’s spent with the Prince that morning, and with what he was seeing now, he decided he quite liked the man. He was an enigma, that was certain, and the knowledge that he was officially betrothed to Abigail still bothered Caine. But the foreboding he felt about the Prince faded with each second he spent in the charismatic man’s company. And thank heavens for that. After all, it was Philip who had offered Abigail to them, and it was Philip who was here to help gain the approval of the King. “I am quite sorry we missed the show,” Stavros said, his tone wry. Jacintha shot them a wicked smile as the Prince ran his hand down over her voluptuous body. “You might catch a repeat tonight.” Caine lifted a brow in surprise, then remembered the party. “You plan to attend the soiree?” “Of course.” Philip lifted his head from the crook of the witch’s neck and met his eyes. “I have heard many things about the legendary parties that are held here at Fort Bestial. I confess I am very curious and a little jealous.” “You have no need to be.” Caine looked back at Stavros, then grinned. “We have heard much about the goings-on at Elderwood. I’m sure our parties pale in comparison to yours.” “Well, you are welcome to visit any time and see for yourself.” The Prince released Jacintha and stuck out his hand. “I truly mean it. I hope that as soon as Drayzlake is at peace again, you will bring the Princess to our kingdom to enjoy the festivities.” Caine took the offered hand and shook it firmly, then watched Philip shake hands with Stavros. “I’m sure Abigail would adore the Elderwood parties,” Jacintha mused. “There is strong passion inside her, just waiting to be unlocked.” “I’m quite envious that I won’t be the one to see that passion unleashed,” Philip said wistfully. “But, alas, it is not meant to be.” Caine inclined his head at the Prince’s words, glad to hear him say the words. Abigail wasn’t meant to be with Philip, and thank God the man knew it. Because, although fighting the King of Drayzlake would be difficult enough, going up against the Kingdom of Elderwood would make things so much worse. “And what do the King and Queen of Elderwood think of your festivities?” Caine asked, skipping back a subject. He’d always been curious about Elderwood’s reputation for its exclusive sex parties. Being so accustomed to the Drayzlake people, he found it unusual for the humans of Elderwood to be so openly
Page 54

sexual. Even though, as far as he was aware, the wolves in Elderwood had integrated into the human society long ago. Perhaps that had something to do with it. “My mother is as batty as a butterfly.” Philip shook his head in amused dismay. “She would not know an orgy if it hit her in the face. And my father --” He lifted his shoulders in a casual shrug. “He is happy as long as my mother is happy. And as long as the kingdom is in good shape. They are simple people.” Stavros blew out a long breath. “If only relations in Drayzlake were so simple.” “They shall be.” Philip gave a confident nod. “In the next day or so, we will meet with the King and I shall do my best to explain the situation. Perhaps his anger will lessen when he knows that Elderwood is at peace with the arrangement.” “Perhaps.” But Caine didn’t believe it. The Prince underestimated how far behind the times Drayzlake was. It would take a miracle for the King to accept two wolves as his sons-in-law. “We will leave you to dress,” Stavros said, cutting into Caine’s thoughts. “Enjoy your evening and we shall see you tonight.”
Stavros led the way out of the guest chambers and smiled when he heard Jacintha’s squeal of pleasure behind the closed door. He turned to Caine and found his brother lost in thought.Probably thinking about the King. The wordsstop worrying threatened to trip off Stavros’ tongue but he kept his mouth shut. Ever since they were children, Caine had been the serious twin, always turning inward to resolve his problems. But this was a problem that neither of them could resolve alone. The King would do what he wanted. If he declared war, so be it. The only thing of true importance was Abigail. And she wasn’t going anywhere. When they pushed open the door to their chambers, they found Abigail sitting on the chaise, legs neatly crossed at the ankles, eyes fixed on the piece of tapestry in her hands. She glanced up at the sound of their footsteps, and her eyes sparkled a welcome. Stavros smiled down at her and his hands itched to trail along the lace neckline of her dress, but he resisted. The wait would make what they had in store much sweeter. “Where did you find that?” he asked, focusing instead on the material in her hands. “Delia gave it to me.” Abigail rose to her feet and Stavros had to tear his gaze away from the creamy, abundant flesh of her cleavage. Caine’s voice coming from behind them broke into his thoughts. “Are you hungry, Beauty?” She looked past Stavros to Caine and nodded. “Good.” Stavros clapped his hands together and stepped away, trying not to inhale Abigail’s sweet scent. But despite his efforts, her lavender essence rose up his nostrils, and his cock twitched in response.

He followed Caine and Abigail out of the room and down to the dining hall. Expectation thickened the air as they ate, and the silence told Stavros that he wasn’t the only one thinking about sex. Abigail lifted her goblet to her lips and took a sip, then turned her green gaze on him. “Are there any plans for the evening?” Stavros shot his brother a quick glance, then nodded. “There is a party, Beauty. One that I’m sure you will enjoy.” Lust flamed in her eyes, and her delicate nostrils flared. “Who is attending?” “Everyone.” He took a bite of meat, then inclined his head. “Except the children.” She nodded slowly, and Stavros noted the increased rhythm of her breathing. “Is there anything I should know about this party?” “Only that it shall be a feast for your eyes,” Caine said as he dropped his fork onto his empty plate. Her cheeks flushed in the candlelight, and for a brief second, Stavros felt immersed in trepidation. What if she didn’t like the party? What if they scared her with their contraptions and games and toys? Yes, she had been open with her body over the past two days, but the party tonight would really test her. And there was nothing he’d hate more than to have her fear them. Oh hell, now he was turning into his brother. He picked up his goblet, gulped down the rest of his wine, and pushed the worrisome thoughts from his mind. He’d stop worrying now and have faith in Abigail. She was their destined mate. If they couldn’t trust her, they couldn’t trust anyone. Chapter Eleven
In the circular dressing room of the brothers’ chambers, Abigail allowed Delia to button the back of her red satin dress and tried desperately to stop trembling. But no matter what she did to distract herself, she couldn’t shake these nerves. Or perhaps it was anticipation that buzzed in her veins. At this point, she couldn’t tell the difference. “There now,” Delia said, turning Abigail around to face her. “You are a portrait, Princess. Come look in the mirror.” Delia guided Abigail to the gilded glass, and Abigail gaped at her reflection. The red, making her lips appear fuller and her skin creamier, was more striking than she’d expected. Her dark curls fell about her shoulders in a glossy curtain, and her breasts were pushed up so far that they swelled over the top of her dress. But it was her eyes that drew a gasp from her lips. Dilated so far, they appeared black, exposing exactly how aroused she was. And to her enormous surprise, not a flicker of shame passed through her. She didn’t even blush. As a matter of fact, she couldn’t wait for Stavros and Caine to lay their eyes on her.
Page 56

After Delia put the finishing touches to her appearance, Abigail stepped out of the dressing room and stilled. The brothers stood in the sitting room, identically dressed in white dress shirts, breeches, and leather boots, each looking as darkly handsome as the other. She bit her lip, and the desire that had been pulsing in her veins all day surged faster, sending moisture pooling between her thighs. She held her shoulders straight, not caring if Stavros and Caine noticed the way her aroused nipples strained against the front of her dress. In fact, shewanted them to notice. She remained in place and felt her skin warm as their gazes roamed over her silk-encased body. Dark lust seemed to spill from their silver eyes, making her shiver with need, but she didn’t drop her gaze to the floor. Instead, she savored the sensations their intense gazes elicited within her and waited for one of them to speak. Finally, Stavros, a tight smile on his face, stepped forward. “You are beautiful.” “Yes.” Caine’s voice sounded choked when he spoke up. “Very beautiful.” Her lips curved in a pleased smile and she inclined her head. “Thank you.” The two men hesitated for another few seconds before Caine reached for her arm. “Good night, Delia,” she called over her shoulder as they left the room. “Good night,” the woman said back. “And for heaven’s sakes, please behave yourselves.” Abigail grinned up at Stavros, and he winked at her. “I don’t think there’s much chance of that. Wouldn’t you agree, Beauty?” Oh yes I would. “Will Jacintha be here?” Caine gave a low chuckle. “I certainly expect so.” Abigail arched a brow. “Where has she been all day?” “Entertaining our guest,” Stavros replied, his fingertips trailing lightly over her bare elbow. Gooseflesh spread over her skin, and a shiver passed through her. On her other side, Caine’s hand squeezed her arm. “Cold?” She shook her head. Not cold. Very, very hot. It seemed that the further they walked, the deeper underground they went. They were always on a gently sloping decline as they ventured through the torch-lit passageways, rounding corner after corner until they turned onto a narrow corridor that had two guards at the end of it. The bulky men stood in front of a purple curtain, and as Abigail neared, the sounds of voices and laughter and lilting music reached her ears. Stavros muttered something to the guards and the curtains parted to let them through. They stepped into a large hall, and as it was quite a dark room, at first glance Abigail thought it was like any other party. But her eyes quickly adjusted to the darkness and her legs nearly buckled beneath her at what she saw.

Holy heavens. All around her, the party guests were fucking. Women were bent over tables while their partners drove into them from behind or pressed against the wall with their legs wrapped around their partner’s waist. Some couples ground together in the middle of the floor, the rhythm of their bodies matching the rhythm of the music. Some couples chatted with other couples, pleasuring each other as they did so. Neither Stavros nor Caine said anything at first. They led her through the swarm of people slowly, giving her the opportunity to drink in the wicked sights. She saw that many women wore only their undergarments while some men were bare-chested, their smooth torsos glistening with sweat in the torchlight. Abigail swallowed hard, focused on her breathing, and clutched the muscular arms of her two companions. “What do you think, Beauty?” Caine murmured in her ear after a while of observing the many couples. Her lips parted, and she released a shaky breath. In truth, she was fascinated. Watching all these bodies writhing together made for a delicious sight, and the effect it was having on her body was ruthless. Her gaze rested on a couple who were fucking against a stone pillar, half in shadow. The man tugged his partner’s naked breasts, pulling on the puckered nipples. Hot shards of lust exploded in Abigail’s veins and her stomach clenched painfully. She tore her gaze from the couple and looked up at Caine. She couldn’t speak, but she was quite sure he’d be able to read her eyes. Approval flickered in his silver gaze, and she knew he understood her desires. He looked over her head at Stavros, and they started to guide her further into the masses. The aroma of sex overpowered her senses, filling her head until she was dizzy. She devoured the sights, and her need to have both Stavros and Caine inside her mounted by the second. The further they went, the more she saw. At the visual of a man slamming his cock inside another man, she blinked rapidly, feeling her pussy tighten in response. She turned her head and was faced with three naked women grinding against one another, enjoying each other’s femininity. She soon found out that there were many combinations to be seen, including two men fucking one girl, much like her own situation. And then her gaze found Jacintha. The witch was bent over at the waist, her red hair covering her face, her huge breasts spilling over the top of her dress, her skirts hiked up around her hips. Behind the witch, an extremely handsome blond man pumped his cock inside her in sharp strokes. He lifted his head briefly and startlingly blue eyes met Abigail’s. Their gazes held for a few seconds before he dropped his head back to Jacintha’s neck. Abigail ran her tongue over her lips and almost cried out with need. Her clit throbbed painfully between her thighs and she longed to catch it between her fingers and soothe the ache. “Come, Beauty,” Stavros urged in a voice thick with desire. She forced her shaky legs forward and left Jacintha and her handsome lover behind. Caine lowered his head to her neck and his breath teased her ear as he whispered, “We are going to take you further now, Beauty.” He darted out his tongue, and the tip ran along the shell of her ears,

making her cry out. “We are going to show you things that may scare you.” “I want to see.” She gasped, barely able to string the words together. “Show me.” Stavros wrapped a strong arm around her waist and moved forward. “Good girl.” They reached another velvet curtain, and Caine and Stavros didn’t hesitate as they pushed it aside. They led her through, and what she saw here had shock and desire warring in her soul. Everywhere she looked, somebody was tied up. Rope, leather, metal chains. Her breath locked in her throat as she swept her gaze over this new set of couples and threesomes. Some of the men wore masks as they brought whips and canes down on the bare buttocks of their partners. Abigail sucked her bottom lip between her teeth, biting it so hard she tasted blood. Her gaze fell on a blonde woman who was locked into some sort of contraption. A harness hung from the ceiling, holding her around the waist. Her wrists were locked behind her back and a gag filled her mouth. A man with skin the color of cocoa thrust into the woman from behind, while a fairer man played with the woman’s breasts. Arousal drenched Abigail’s undergarments, and she let out a sob. Stavros tightened his arm around her, and his eyes found hers. “Are you all right, Beauty?” “Yes,” she choked out. Her legs shook so hard they were ready to collapse beneath her. “I need…” The concern faded from Stavros’s eyes, replaced by fire. “I know what you need, Beauty.” With his arm still wrapped tight around her waist, he pushed his free hand between her thighs. “I know what you need.” The sweet pressure of his palm against her pussy drew a moan from her lips and she pressed into his hand, silently begging for more. Stavros moved in front of her, and Caine stepped up behind her. She rocked between them as Caine bunched her dress around her hips and the heel of Stavros’s hand massaged circles on her lace-covered mound. And then Stavros ripped off the material, baring her pussy to his hands. Her head rolled back onto Caine’s shoulder as Stavros worked his fingers inside her dripping cunt. Behind her, Caine ground his hips against her buttocks, and she felt the very prominent length of his erection through the material of his breeches. She longed to turn around and release him, to take that cock in her mouth, but she was helpless to do anything but accept the pleasure that Stavros was lavishing upon her. It wasn’t long before she came. The spasms started in her lower belly and spread downward until her pussy quaked around the length of Stavros’s finger. She cried out and the sound mingled with the rest of the screams that filled the room. Gasping for breath, she glanced to the side, watching the blurry sight of a whip cracking down on a woman’s ass. Her skin tingled as if it were she who was being whipped and she closed her eyes, fresh arousal thrumming in her veins, awakening her body once more. “Can we go?” she asked, barely recognizing the sound of her own voice. “Please.” “Yes,” Caine muttered. “Let’s go somewhere private.” Stavros stepped back, then swept her up in his arms. Clinging to him, she breathed in his smell of spices and soap as he carried her away from the screams and the loud crack of canes on flesh.

Where are we going? She couldn’t gather the wits to ask. Her mind, flooded with images of what she’d just seen, spun, and every inch of her skin tingled with arousal from the arches of her feet to the curve of her neck. It seemed to take forever to reach their destination, but eventually, a door clicked open and she knew from Stavros’s sharp intake of breath that they’d arrived. Stavros set her down on a round bed draped with velvet and silk in rich, sensual tones and took a step back. Abigail darted glances around the octagonal room, and she gasped as she realized that the walls consisted entirely of mirrors. She scrambled onto her knees and watched Stavros and Caine tear their clothes off until they both stood naked before her, identical in their state of arousal. She wet her lips, her whole body quaking at the sight of their desire for her. The two men exchanged quick glances, then strode forward. Stavros circled the bed, and she felt the surface dip as he climbed on behind her. Caine slipped on in front of her, and the swollen head of his cock pressed into her belly as he cupped her face in his hands and claimed her mouth in a harsh, demanding kiss. She groaned against his lips, parting hers to allow the entrance of his tongue. The force of his kiss bruised her mouth as their tongues wound together, thrusting and caressing in hot strokes. Behind her, she felt Stavros lift her dress up around her hips again and rub the head of his cock along the crack of her buttocks as he massaged the round globes with his hands. Then he pushed her forward onto her hands and shoved his hair-dusted thigh between her legs. The move tore her lips from Caine’s, and she gasped for breath. Opening her thighs further for Stavros, she tilted her head to Caine and let him thrust his tongue into her mouth again. Stavros sank his fingers into her pussy and slowly stroked in and out. She groaned into Caine’s mouth, then screamed when Stavros pinched the swollen bud of her clit. Caine lifted his head from hers and leaned over her to unbutton the back her dress. A sob choked her as he pulled the material over her head, then tore at her corset until her breasts spilled out. “You are so beautiful, Abigail,” Caine whispered hoarsely, saying her given name for the first time. He found her nipples, and with callused fingertips, he stroked and teased the throbbing peaks until she threw back her head and yelled out. Pleasure still rippled between her legs as Stavros continued to caress her pussy. And then his hands left her cunt, slowly moving up to the button of her ass. Her arousal drenched his fingers, and he used that to wet the tight hole. One fingertip circled the hole and then gently pressed against it. He slid his long finger inside her and the impossibly tight muscles relaxed around him. Then he withdrew his finger and leaned over her back to whisper in her ear. “I’m going to enter you here,” Stavros told her, still circling her asshole with his fingertip. “Are you ready for me?” Unable to speak, she nodded and released a breath on a shudder. She needed them inside her. She didn’t care which opening. “This might hurt,” Caine whispered, bringing one of his hands from her breasts to stroke her hair back from her face. “I’m right here, Beauty. Hold on to me.”

She took the offer and straightened so that she could cling to his shoulders. She had a feeling she’d need the support. Behind her, Stavros positioned himself as her back entrance and pressed the velvety head of his cock against her tight hole. He entered her slowly, inch by inch, giving her muscles the time they needed to get used to his invasion. Abigail pressed her face against the crook of Caine’s neck and panted heavily as Stavros pushed into her further. Then, in one move, he thrust all the way in, and a raw scream ripped from her throat. A sharp pain flared from where he throbbed inside her, an exquisite sensation that brought every nerve ending in her body to life. She bit into Caine’s shoulder and closed her eyes as Stavros withdrew before quickly entering her again. The white-hot pleasure that surged in her veins almost undid her, and when Stavros thrust into her ass for the third time, she nearly blacked out. But Caine held onto her tight, stroking her hair, helping her through the sensations that tortured her body. “Easy, my love,” he soothed. “Take it easy.” His hushed words washed over her and relaxed her until, finally, strength returned to her limbs and Stavros could start a gentle pumping rhythm behind her. Her breath came in short bursts and she lifted her head to meet Caine’s eyes. His hungry gaze searched hers, and she became achingly aware of the swollen cock that nudged her belly. “Can you take me, Beauty?” His strained voice was as tight as his jaw. She looked down at his throbbing cock and nodded mindlessly. “Uh-huh.” She shifted on the bed, digging her knees into the silk covers and pulling herself up until the head of Caine’s cock teased the entrance to her pussy. The soft contours of her breasts molded to his hard chest, and his large hands gripped her waist, just above where Stavros held her. Then, in one swift movement, he thrust up inside her and she was filled with two cocks. She arched back, and her head fell against the curve of Stavros’s shoulder. Still pumping his cock into her ass, he dipped his head and swiped his tongue over her mouth. The silky ends of his hair grazed her neck, teasing her skin. He licked her mouth again, and she parted her lips, letting him thrust his tongue inside. The two men rocked her between their demanding bodies in a delicious rhythm that threatened to drive her insane. She closed her eyes, absorbing all the pleasure they offered her. The beginnings of her climax fluttered in her stomach, then fanned outward until her pussy clutched Caine’s cock and the walls of her ass rippled around Stavros. She whimpered and mewled into the hot velvet of Stavros’s mouth, stars bursting behind her closed eyelids as she shook in their arms. Then their tempo increased and her mind spun into oblivion. The two men thrust inside her in fast, excruciating strokes that tore a second climax from her body, and another after that. She opened her mouth and screamed, hearing the sound as if from a distance. Blood roared in her ears and her whole body convulsed, and then she felt a growl rumble up out of Stavros’s chest and spill into her mouth. His hips snapped behind her once, twice and then he ripped his lips from hers and roared. She felt his hot seed explode in her ass, and he was closely followed by his brother. Caine erupted inside her quaking pussy, and she blinked open her eyes to watch him throw back his head and shout at the

mirrored ceiling. “What would your prince say?” Stavros rasped in her ear. “What would he do if he saw you now?” In a daze, Abigail looked to the side and her eyes caught on their reflection in the mirrored wall. Stavros had his head resting against the back of her neck, and his powerful body shuddered visibly as his cock continued to twitch inside her with the last of his climax. Caine’s head was tilted back, his black as midnight hair hanging down behind him. His jaw was locked, and his hips were still thrusting against hers. “He’d have you hanged,” she breathed, captivated by the erotic sight in the mirror. “He’d have you hanged by dawn.” Her last word choked in her throat as Stavros lifted a hand to her breast and squeezed the nipple, making her come again. This time her climax didn’t stop. Her pussy rippled endlessly, and her ass muscles clenched around Stavros’s half-hard cock, ensuring he was milked dry. Tears of bliss rolled down her cheeks as her body jerked between the two men. And then her bones seemed to turn to liquid, and she sagged between them. The last thing she heard before she blacked out was Stavros speaking in his usual wry tone. “I thought that went well. Wouldn’t you agree?” Yes, she thought as she slipped into a deep sleep.I would. Chapter Twelve
When Caine awoke, he didn’t move. Instead, he stared down at Abigail and felt his heart swell in his chest at the sight of her sleeping face. Beautiful and open and free. She’d given them so much last night, never faltering as they’d pushed her to limits that he was certain she’d never imagined. “She’s settling in nicely.” Caine looked up at the sound of his brother’s voice, finding a sleep-mussed Stavros roaming his gaze over Abigail’s face. “Yes,” he said carefully. “But we shouldn’t get too comfortable just yet.” Stavros grumbled under his breath, then shot Caine a glare. “Do you always have to be so pessimistic, brother? She is here. Let us enjoy her.” Caine opened his mouth to argue, then closed it again. His brother was right. There was no sense in worrying about what he couldn’t control. Their mate lay wrapped between their bodies. How could he be anything but satisfied? Abigail shifted on the bed and let out a soft sigh, which shot straight to Caine’s dick. When her sleepy green eyes opened, she looked up at him and her gaze focused. Then she turned her head to glance at Stavros, and a sputter of light laughter fell from her lips. Caine grinned and, gently tugging her hair, made her look at him again. “What is it that makes you laugh,

Beauty?” The warmth in her expression wrapped around his heart and squeezed tight. “I don’t think, no matter how long I’m here, that I shall ever get used to waking up between two men.” Stavros chuckled and tangled his fingers with hers. “You’d be surprised at how easy it will become.” Her gaze flickered between their faces, her eyes scrutinizing theirs. “Have you always shared your women?” “Yes.” Stavros pulled down the sheet slightly, baring more of Abigail’s creamy curves. “It came very naturally. It is what we were born to do.” Caine trailed fingertips over the upper swell of Abigail’s breast and heard her sharp intake of breath. “We enjoy bringing a woman to pleasure together.” “True.” Stavros began to caress Abigail’s other breast. “Two is always better than one.” Abigail’s eyes drifted closed as she surrendered to their touch. Caine watched with mounting desire as her red lips parted and her breath quickened. He glanced at his brother, then tugged the sheet down further and feasted his eyes on the tight nipples that jutted at them as if begging to be stroked. “Where are we?” Abigail asked breathlessly, breasts rising and falling heavily. “Are we still below ground?” Caine raised an eyebrow. She must have been even more aroused than he’d realized last night if she hadn’t known where they’d ended up. “We are in our chambers, Beauty,” he informed her, rolling a nipple between his thumb and forefinger, making her arch beneath their hands. “This is a room we never showed you until last night.” “I like this room.” Her husky-voiced statement of approval had Caine’s cock straining. “I’m glad.” On the other side of Abigail, Stavros lowered his head and sucked her nipple between his lips. Her sharp cry rose in the air, filling his ears. He laved the flat of his tongue over the hard bud, then sucked again before biting gently. She screamed again, and his cock jerked when the musky scent of her arousal teased his nose. He lifted his head from her breast and stared down at her, drinking in the sight of her aroused state. She’d changed so much since they’d brought her here only three days ago. Now she opened so easily for them, accepting her own hunger as well as theirs and embracing her body’s needs. “What a picture you are,” he whispered, leaning over to rain kisses along the delicate line of her jaw. “How will we ever get enough of you?” She opened hazy eyes and the corner of her luscious mouth tilted upward in a small smile. “I don’t have the answer to that.” The ironic answer drew a laugh from him, and he turned to find his brother chuckling too.

“I think you are starting to settle, Beauty,” Caine mused, rubbing his thumb into the pillowed softness of her bottom lip. “Quite soon you will want us to turn you into a fully-fledged wolf.” Her eyes flared with interest, and he knew she was imagining what it would be like to have an animal living within her for every second of the day, having the chance to run free and wild. But then she shook her head furiously as if that would tamp down her desires. “I can’t think that shallever happen.” Her gaze swept downward as she pushed both him and Caine away. Disappointment crashed through him. She was blocking them out. The idea of being turned had unnerved her, possibly even scared her. But perhaps it was her feelings on the matter that scared her, rather than the idea itself. From the spark he’d seen in her eyes, he was sure that she was quite taken with the thought of turning wolf. “Has there been any word from the castle?” He almost groaned at her words. Damn it. Now she was trying to remind herself of the life that awaited back home, the life suited to a princess. When would she just accept that she was meant to be here, that she could never be happy with the life her father wanted her to lead? Glancing at Caine, he saw his unease reflected in his brother’s eyes. “The Alpha received word from the King the day before yesterday,” Caine told her after a long, deafening silence. “And?” Stavros set his jaw, prepared for a fight. “And your father isn’t happy with the situation.” Abigail rolled her eyes. “Of course he isn’t. So what is he going to do?” Her irritated tone crept under Stavros’s skin and he fought the urge to snap back. Arguing with her would do no good. “We don’t know what he will do, Beauty.” She looked from him to Caine, hot temper flashing in her eyes. “Will there be a war?” she asked quietly. Stavros shared a glance with his brother and bowed his head. “There might be.” At his words, Abigail slid from the bed and got to her feet, not seeming to notice that she stood before them naked and glorious. Or maybe she didn’t care. “Come back to bed, Beauty.” Stavros held out a hand to her, but she stepped out of reach. “No.” Rage flamed in her eyes and her shoulders trembled as if her body couldn’t handle the force of her anger. “This has gone far enough.” She crossed her arms over her breasts, shielding herself from them. The gesture tore at Stavros’ heart and his gut twisted. “Beauty --” She cut him off with a silencing finger on his lips. It rested there briefly before she pulled it away as if

he’d burned her skin. “What would happen if a war erupts?” She looked from him to Caine, eyes wild. “If the situation called for it, would you murder my people? Would you kill my father?” Damn this line of questioning. Stavros glanced at Caine, seeing his brother was as helpless to say anything as he was. “Answer me,” Abigail demanded, her voice rising an octave. “Would you kill my father?” If it came down to it, yes, they would. They had to do everything in their power to keep Abigail here, even if it meant the murder of the King. But he couldn’t bring himself to say the words. He didn’t have to. The dimming of her eyes and the sagging of her shoulders made it clear that she understood their silence. She cleared her throat, and her eyes glazed with tears. He reached for her again, needing to take her pain away, but she took another step back. “I want to go home.” Behind Stavros, Caine let out a heavy sigh. “That can’t happen, Beauty.” “Don’t call me that. My name isAbigail .” Her voice cracked, and Stavros gripped the edge of the bed at the rawness of her pain. “I don’t want to be here,” she continued, a lone tear streaking down her flushed cheek. “I am no wolf. Nor do I wish to be.” The words ripped at his soul, and his stomach twisted painfully.Don’t say that, Beauty , he begged her silently. You want to be here. I know you do. The delicate point of her chin rose as another surge of anger swallowed her pain. “How dare you treat a princess this way?” The sound of her forced laughter hurt his ears. “You are nothing more than beasts,” she spat. “I shall marry the Prince of Elderwood. He and my father will tear this fort apart to rescue me.” The strained thread of control inside Stavros finally snapped. He pushed to his feet and approached Abigail in quick strides, holding her eyes with his. “You are wrong, Beauty. You belong tous .” “No.” “Yes.” He gripped her arms and pulled her flush against him, feeling electricity spark between their naked bodies. “You have damn well proven that you belong to us over the past few days. Don’t dare deny it.” The tips of her breasts hardened against his chest, and her pupils dilated slightly. But she visibly fought her arousal, struggling in his grip and meeting his gaze with flashing eyes. “The effects of the full moon were still at work,” she hissed through clenched teeth. “I cannot control the wolven blood that taints my veins, but that doesn’t mean I want you.” She looked over his shoulder, and he knew she was fixing Caine with her angry eyes. “Or you.” “Wolven blood runs in your veins, Beauty, that is true.” Stavros swallowed thickly and jerked her tighter

against him until the head of his cock pushed into the curve of her belly. “And it causes lust that you might not otherwise feel. But it cannot create the kind of reactions you have felt toward us. Your desire crosses boundaries I have never witnessed before. And I am sure my brother would agree.” Stavros lowered his head until the sharp pants of her breathing caressed his lips. Damn it, he needed her to hear what he was saying. “The wolven blood might make you more open than you normally would be, Beauty, but it is your soul that craves us so badly. You belong here.” He pressed his forehead to hers and stared into her eyes. “You areours .” On the last word, he crushed her lips with his, forcing his tongue into the hot silk of her mouth, and stroking her velvety tongue until he felt her slacken against him. He kissed her furiously for minutes on end, tangling his tongue with hers and thrusting deep inside her mouth. Then he tore his lips away and left her gasping for breath. She stared up at him through dilated eyes, then with a force he wouldn’t have expected from her slender frame, she pushed him away and raced to the door. She disappeared through it and the soft padding of her bare feet on the floor outside could be heard as she crossed the entrance room and went into the bedchamber in which she’d stayed the previous nights. The slam of her door echoed throughout the quarters and Stavros turned to his brother, releasing a long breath. Caine’s silver eyes were dull, and his brow was furrowed. Even from across the room, Stavros could feel the tension radiating from his brother in heavy, draining waves. “What now?” he asked. Caine shrugged and rubbed a frustrated hand over his jaw. “I don’t know.” “Maybe we should leave her alone for a while. She’s had a lot to absorb over the past few days. We should have expected an outburst of that kind.” A weak smile lifted Caine’s lips. “Has it really only been a few days?” He shook his head. “I can’t remember a time when she wasn’t with us.” Stavros smiled too. “I know. It seems like an eternity since I took her from the cave.” Moving around the bed, he bent to pick up their discarded clothing. “I hope we won’t have to do anything to the King.” Caine’s brow furrowed deeper as he got to his feet and stretched his arms over his head. “Me, too, brother. Me, too.” Chapter Thirteen
With teeth gritted and breasts heaving, Abigail stormed the length of the bedchamber.Insolent beasts . They thought they could just keep her here, using her body for their pleasure. And their arrogance ! They even expected her to be happy, to enjoy a life as their mate. She slammed a hand down on the dresser and watched it shake. She would never become their mate, never . Her royal blood refused to allow it, and two wolves could never make her happy, no matter how much pleasure they unleashed on her body. She was a princess.A princess!

Catching sight of her reflection in the mirror above the dresser, Abigail groaned. Flushed cheeks, wild eyes, and naked body. The furious energy that flowed in her veins ebbed, and she let out a sigh. Why did she let them affect her so? She shook her head and took a step back from the dresser. How could they be so cruel? They’d admitted that they’d kill her father if it came to it. And they probably wouldn’t even blink. Tears pricked the back of her eyes and her throat burned. Outside the bedchamber, she heard them moving around in the other rooms. If they dared to come in here… But as the minutes ticked by, she realized they were going to leave her alone. And when the main door slammed shut and the sound of footsteps faded, she knew they were gone. The tears she’d been holding back spilled from her eyes and streaked down her cheeks. She sank onto the bed and drew her knees up to her chest, rocking back and forth on the covers. Her stomach churned, and need ached in her heart. A need for them. She sniffed as sobs wracked her body. Damn them for keeping her here. Damnher for wanting to stay. She stayed where she was for what felt like hours, waiting for their return. She waited so long that she wondered if they’d leave her alone for the whole day. The thought twisted her gut. But at noon, she heard the main door open. Getting to her feet, she pulled a robe around her shoulders and tiptoed to the bedroom door. Before she reached for the knob, the door swung open. She screamed and leaped back, clutching at her robe. Delia’s wrinkled face appeared around the door. “Are you all right, Princess?” Abigail nodded and gave a shaky laugh. “I’m sorry, Delia. You gave me a fright.” The woman smiled kindly and placed the tray she was holding on the side table. Abigail ran her gaze over the mountain of food that graced the tray and her stomach rumbled. “Eat up, Princess.” Delia moved back to the door. “I am going to call to have the bathtub filled, and then we shall get you bathed.” “Thank you.” Needing to fill a hole in her belly, Abigail reached for a scone and slathered it with butter. The first bite of the sweet bread wiped all thoughts of Caine and Stavros from her mind. But as soon as she had finished her breakfast, it all came rolling back. Not even Delia’s lively conversation could distract her while she bathed. “Are you feeling well, Princess?” Delia asked as she fetched a clean dress for Abigail. No. “I’m fine.” She forced a smile and held Delia’s shoulders as she stepped into the yellow dress. “Do you like being a wolf, Delia?” The woman lifted her head and laughed. “I am not a wolf, Princess.”
Page 67

“You’re not?” “No.” Delia held out a pair of slippers. “I am as human as you are.” Abigail frowned and put on the slippers. “Then why do you stay here?” “Because I want to.” Delia gathered the damp towels and shrugged. “I have worked in this fort my whole life. These people are my family.” “But don’t you miss humans?” “There are many humans here, Princess. And the wolves --” She shook her head. “They are just like us, except for the fact that they howl at the moon. It is freer here than in other societies, and I enjoy the fun.” Abigail spent the rest of the afternoon mulling over Delia’s words. In truth, she could see why Delia would think that way. From what Abigail had seen, the wolves lived very much like humans. Stavros and Caine ate like gentlemen of the court, their quarters were just as luxurious as her own at the castle, and the food just as splendid. Even their clothing was made from the finest materials. But they were still beasts. A short rap at the door drew her from her thoughts. She frowned. Jacintha never knocked. Neither did Delia. Stavros and Caine most definitely didn’t. Who else could it be? The mysterious knocker rapped on the door again and she sighed, rising to her feet. The last thing she felt like was company, especially that of a stranger. When she pulled open the heavy door, her eyes widened and her annoyance disappeared. A terribly handsome blond man stood before her, observing her with sparkling blue eyes. Her brow furrowed. She’d seen those eyes before. Something clicked in her mind.Ah, that’s it . He was the man she’d seen with Jacintha at last night’s party. “May I come in, Princess?” She lifted a brow at his silky tone. “Not until you introduce yourself.” He laughed and dipped in a short bow. “Of course, I’ve forgotten my manners.” He reached for her hand and brought it to his lips, his eyes never leaving hers. “I am Prince Philip of Elderwood.” He released her hand and a slow smile spread across his face. “Yourbetrothed .” She blinked, then blinked again.Prince Philip of Elderwood ? Herbetrothed ? No, she didn’t believe it. “Oh, really?” She pressed her lips together in a thin line. “And what is the Prince of Elderwood doing in the underground passageways of Fort Bestial?” He laughed again, revealing a set of perfectly even teeth. “Perhaps I am here to rescue you, Princess.”
Page 68

She straightened. Could it be true? Had he come to take her away from this place? Her stomach twisted at the thought and her hands curled into fists at her sides. If he were here to save her, would she ever see Stavros or Caine again? The man leaned in, his eyes searching hers. “If you don’t mind me saying so, you don’t seem very eager at the prospect of being rescued.” She lifted her chin at his mocking tone. So he thought he could tease her, did he? How rude. “I knew you weren’t the Prince,” she told him haughtily. “A man of royal blood would never be insolent enough to knock on a princess’s door without an invitation.” “You misunderstand, Princess.” He took a step back and her eyes focused on the blue and white symbol that was stitched into his jacket. The Bear of Elderwood. Her heartbeat slowed. So he spoke the truth after all. She shook her head. “So youare here to rescue me?” “Not at all. In fact, my reason for being here is quite the opposite.” He looked past her into the entrance room, then glanced to his side. “How would you like some fresh air, Princess. A stretch of the legs will do us both some good.” She stared at him for a few moments, then nodded. Whatever the Prince had to say, she was positively intrigued. Taking his offered arm, she allowed herself to be led away from the chambers. “What did you mean by that?” she asked when they reached the stairway. “By what?” He gestured to the stairs. “Would you like me to carry you?” “No, thank you.” She started to climb the steep steps, trying not to think about how many steps there were. “What did you mean by ‘my reason for being here is quite the opposite’?” “Ah.” The Prince nodded. “That.” She glared at him. “Yes.That .” “I meant exactly what I said. I am not here to rescue you.” “You’re not?” She paused and turned to look up at him. “Why?” “Because you are to be mated to the Brothers of Drayzlake, of course.” He gave his reason as if she should know it already. She started to climb the steps again and tried to wrap her mind around what the Prince had said. He seemed perfectly willing to hand her over to the wolves. How could that be? The exertion of climbing the steps prevented her from speaking until they were outside. She sucked in a lungful of fresh air and glanced at her companion. He didn’t seem the least bit out of breath after the exercise. “Are you hungry, Princess?” he inquired, tipping his head to the bakery.

The smell of fresh bread was delicious, but she shook her head. “I’d much rather you told me what on earth is going on.” The Prince nodded a greeting to a passerby, then smiled down at her. “Let’s wait until we reach the grass. We can sit and enjoy the sunshine while I explain.” She swallowed the demand that he tell her now and followed him through the cobbled streets of the village. They walked along the path that enclosed the lawns, then crossed the grass to sit by one of the large Weeping Willows. Abigail leaned against the thick trunk and ran her eyes over their surroundings. Her gaze caught on a single daisy that sprouted from the grass and she reached out to pick it. Rolling the stem in her fingers, she remembered how Stavros had picked her one the day before. Her heart tightened at the memory and she dropped the flower into the grass. “You seem sad, Princess. What bothers you?” Abigail glanced up at the Prince and gave a small smile. “I don’t understand why you are here, if you won’t rescue me.” His brow creased. “Youwant to be rescued?” She hesitated.Do I want to be rescued? “I don’t know,” she said eventually. “No?” He cocked his head to the side, studying her openly. “You appeared perfectly at ease when I saw you at the party last night. I assumed you’d settled in.” She shook her head. “How can I settle in? I am surrounded by wolves.” Her companion laughed. “Princess, I can tell you now that Fort Bestial is a delightful place to be and absolutely no different to any other village I have visited. If you were to marry me, you would live in the company of humansand wolves. Drayzlake is the only kingdom with such a separate society.” She frowned. Hadn’t Caine told her the very same thing? Lifting her gaze to the Prince, she searched his face. “But don’t you mind?” “Mind what?” “That if I stay here, you shall be without a wife. What will people say?” He laughed again. “I shall have a wife eventually, Princess. And I don’t care what people say. We all deserve to be happy, even if we are royalty.” “You think I’d be happy if I stayed here?” “Yes.” His tone was definite. “You belong here.” “But how do you know that?”
Page 70

He reached out and took her hand. “Perhaps I am spending too much time with Jacintha and her magic has rubbed off on me.” He shrugged. “But believe me when I say that your fate lies here in Fort Bestial and you shall be the mate of the Alphas.” Her eyes narrowed. His weak explanation did nothing to settle her curiosity, but she doubted she’d be able to get any more information than that. He seemed quite tight-lipped on the subject. Just how many secrets did he have? He chuckled, breaking into her thoughts. “Besides, did you really expect me to allow my wife to mate with wolves on every full moon? I’m certain it would drive me insane with jealousy.” Her lips parted at his words. She hadn’t even considered that if she were to marry the Prince, she’d still have to mate with the wolves. How bizarre it would be to leave her husband’s bed and make love with another man. She couldn’t wrap her head around it. She focused on the Prince’s face again and couldn’t help but laugh at the humor in his eyes. “It would be quite ridiculous,” she admitted. He quirked a brow. “Indeed it would.” Her laughter trailed off when her thoughts turned to the King. “But what about my parents? What will they say?” “Pah.” The Prince grinned at her. “Who cares what they say? Life is too short to waste it by living as society dictates.” She blinked, letting his words sink in. “And what if there is a war?” she asked quietly. “Then there will be a war.” His words were matter-of-fact as he looked at her. “I am quite sure the brothers would say that you are worth it.” He got to his feet and helped her up. “The reason I am here, Princess, is to help convince your father not to declare war.” She swiped the grass from the back of her skirts with her hands. “Do you think you’ll succeed?” “I don’t know.” He led her back to the path, and they started back toward the village. “I have a feeling that you would have more luck with the King than I would,” he said after a long silence. She lifted her head in surprise. “What do you mean?” He raised a brow, a dare sparkling in his blue eyes. “Perhaps you should try convincing your father to let things be.” Her eyes widened. “How could I do that?” “We are to meet the King at nightfall,” the Prince explained as they entered the brothers’ hut. “Maybe you should accompany us and face your father.” She bit her lip and remained silent until they reached the bottom of the stairway. “I can’t,” she said, imagining her father’s face if she asked him to hold back the troops. “He would never listen to me.” “I think you might be surprised.” The Prince stopped outside her chambers. “But it is entirely your

decision.” He opened the door for her and bowed. “I shall leave you to enjoy the rest of your day, Princess.” She curtsied and watched him stroll down the passageway. Before he turned the corner, he looked back at her and smiled. “I hope I shall see you tonight.” As he disappeared around the corner, she stepped inside the empty chambers and sighed. Maybe she should go tonight, if only to figure out what her true feelings were on the matter of staying in Fort Bestial. But the thought of facing her father and defying him terrified her. She stopped when she entered the bedchamber and frowned. Would she defy the King? It seemed her subconscious had made the decision without her realizing it. She glanced at the bed and the dresser and the wardrobe that held the many dresses that Jacintha had chosen for her. How strange that she felt more at home here than she’d ever felt within the castle walls. As conflicting thoughts tumbled in her mind, she curled up on the bed and laid her head on the pillow. She’d rest her eyes for a few moments, and maybe when she awoke, everything would seem clearer. But she didn’t sleep for a few moments. She slept for a few hours. Dreams fused together, drenching her mind in vivid images of what life would be like as a wolf. Much later, the patter of bustling feet drew her from her sleep. She rose up in the bed and her eyes focused on Delia’s plump frame. The woman had placed a tray of food on the table and was watching her with kind eyes. “You must have been very tired, Princess.” Abigail blinked, then swung her legs over the side of the bed. “What time is it, Delia?” “Just after seven, Princess.” Just after seven. Something niggled at the back of her mind and she closed her eyes, trying to remember.Nightfall ! She jumped from the bed as a rush of nervous energy surged through her veins. “Have they left yet?” she asked, stuffing her feet into a pair of slippers. “What do you mean, child?” “Caine and Stavros.” Abigail pulled her shawl over her shoulders. “Have they left to meet the King?” “Yes.” Delia began to nod. “About ten minutes ago with the Alpha, Jacintha, and the Prince.” The woman reached for Abigail’s arm. “Why don’t you sit down and have some supper?” Abigail shook her head. “I need to follow them, Delia.” “But it’s so late, Princess.” “I don’t care.” She strode to the door. “I need to be at their side when they face my father.” Delia’s brow creased with concern, but as Abigail remained at the door, the old woman nodded. “I shall

call for one of the wolves to escort you into the forest.” Unable to stop herself, Abigail threw her arms around the woman. “Thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you.” Chapter Fourteen
Beneath the light of the moon, Caine made his way through the forest with the others. They walked in silence, a heavy tension hanging over them as they neared the Divide. This was it. If the Prince couldn’t convince the King not to declare war tonight, then the kingdom would erupt into chaos by morning. It wasn’t a happy thought, to say the least. He glanced to his left, seeing the tightness in his brother’s jaw. Even Stavros was worried. “I wonder what the King will say when he sees me here,” the Prince muttered from Caine’s right. Caine smirked. “The poor bastard will probably faint.” Lyson turned to glower at him and the smile faded from Caine’s face as he read the expression in the Alpha’s glinting eyes. Now wasn’t the time for smart comments. If they were going to have any luck with the King, they needed to be on their best behavior. “What are you looking for?” Caine asked as the Prince glanced over his shoulder for about the tenth time since they’d left the fort. “Nothing.” The Prince faced forward again, and within moments, they reached the clearing at the Divide. The other side of the barrier was void of people, and Caine gritted his teeth. So the King would make them wait. After a long silence, Stavros spoke up. “We should have brought weapons.” Caine shook his head. “There will be no violence tonight. The King will need time to prepare for a war.” “There will be no war.” Jacintha stepped as close to the Divide as she could, peering through the trees. Then she took a step back. “He is coming.” Caine stiffened, and the muscles in his shoulders tensed to the point that an ache started between his shoulder blades. He stared straight ahead, hearing horses trot through the forest, waiting for the royal carriage to appear in the darkness. And then he saw a flash of white and the horse were coming toward the Divide. The driver pulled on the reigns, and the carriage trundled to a stop. Four large men dropped down from the front seat of the carriage, while a footman pulled open the carriage door. An owl hooted somewhere above them as the King stepped out of the carriage, his bald head shiny beneath the moonlight. Caine’s gut twisted at the sight of the man and he stifled a growl. How was it that he disliked this sniveling fool so much, yet worshipped the ground his daughter walked on? Perhaps it was because Abigail had shown more strength and dignity in the year Caine had known her,

than the King had shown during his entire reign. The old man had displayed nothing but stubborn, selfish behavior over the years. Never in his reign had he tried to make peace with the wolves nor to even cooperate with the Alpha on peacekeeping matters. He wasn’t a leader; he was a spoiled child. “I know what you’re thinking, brother,” Stavros said, sidling up beside him. “How on earth are we going to stand him as a father-in-law?” Caine almost laughed, but when his eyes caught on the King’s flinty gaze, all traces of humor left his soul. There was another reason he hated the man so much, a darker one. This man was responsible for killing their parents. There was no way Caine would let him take their mate, too, even if she was the man’s daughter. “Where is she?” the King asked, standing at his side of the Divide. “I want hernow .” The royal’s arrogance had Caine’s hackles rising, but the Alpha remained calm. “She isn’t with us.” “No?” The King’s forced laugh echoed in the clearing. “Then you shall have a war on your hands.” “I think you should reconsider, Sire.” This time, the Prince spoke as he stepped forward. The King peered at the Prince and recognition glinted in his eyes. “What are you doing here, Philip? What the hell is going on?” Caine hid a smile as the King’s pitch rose. He was getting nervous. “I am here to ask that you reconsider declaring war.” The Prince strolled past the Alpha until he was face-to-face with the King. “It will do no good, and it won’t win back your daughter.” The King’s eyes bulged. “But she is your betrothed.” “No.” The Prince shook his head. “She belongs to the Brothers of Drayzlake. I have accepted it, and it is time you did too.” “But they are wolves,” the King sputtered, looking wildly from Caine and Stavros to the Prince. “ Wolves. She is a princess. She belongs with a human.” “Forgive me, Sire, but I disagree with what you imply. You are well aware that wolves mate freely with humans in the Kingdom of Elderwood, aren’t you?” “Yes, but…” the King trailed off and his eyes turned accusing as he stared down the Prince. “What would your father say if he knew what you were doing, Philip?” The Prince merely shrugged. “I am sure he would agree with me.” “So you are satisfied to leave your betrothed in the hands of these beasts?” “Yes.” Caine watched the exchange between the two royals in silence, feeling more certain with each passing moment that war would be declared by the time they left this clearing. The King’s body trembled with rage and his face flamed red, his nostrils flaring. He wouldn’t let this go without a fight.

“You need to choose your side more carefully, Philip,” the King warned, staring into the Prince’s eyes, “Or you might find the Kingdom of Elderwood is in trouble too.” Caine rolled his eyes at the weak threat. The King’s half of Drayzlake couldn’t take the entire Kingdom of Elderwood. It was an impossibility, especially considering that Elderwood had both wolves and humans fighting together. “I am asking you to think wisely, Sire,” the Prince said after a heavy silence. “The Princess belongs at Fort Bestial. It is her fate.” “Pah,” the King spat in disgust. “There is no such thing as fate. My daughter belongs in a castle. That’s where she wants to be. Not here.” “You’re wrong, Father.” Caine’s jaw set and his heart slammed against his chest. Had he really heard Abigail’s sweet voice make that statement? “I want to stay here. I want to be with the wolves.” Yes, that was definitely her. Her voice, sharp and definite, rang clear in the forest. He turned slowly and watched her glide toward them, a servant at her side. Her eyes moved between him and Stavros, and the certainty shining in her gaze made his heart tighten. She wanted to be with them. She was finally theirs. ***** Abigail strode into the clearing, with hands curled into tight balls at her sides, eyes fixed on her father’s angry face. He looked like he could explode at any given moment, growing redder with each step she took. She wanted to avert her gaze, to bow her head respectfully as she always did in his company, but she had to do this. She stepped between Caine and Stavros aware of their eyes boring into her skin. Surrounded by them, she felt stronger, and a burst of adrenaline flowed in her veins. “Daughter.” The King sounded shocked as he addressed her. “What are you doing?” She lifted her chin. “I am staying here, Father.” “No.” His eyes hardened and he pointed his finger at her. “Don’t be so ridiculous. What would your mother say?” His gaze moved from her to Jacintha and he snapped his fingers at the witch. “Did you cast a spell over my daughter?” “No, Sire,” Jacintha told him. “I did not.” Abigail nodded. “I belong with the wolves,” she said clearly. All fear of staying at the fort had disappeared as soon as she’d stepped into the clearing. How could she go back to the life her father

expected her to lead, a life full of rules and good behavior? The thought made her throat constrict. “You are talking nonsense, my girl.” The King glared at the Alpha. “Give her back to me, Lyson, or I swear --” “You swear what?” Caine took a step forward, his voice dark with warning. “What can you do?” The King’s eyes widened. “I shall bring the Kingdom of Drayzlake down upon you. I will have my daughter back even if it means destroying the last of the wolves in this forest.” Something inside Abigail snapped, and she stormed forward, hands at her hips. “You shall do no such thing, Father.” “Indeed you won’t.” Stavros moved beside her and his warm hand closed around her wrist. “Your daughter wishes to stay with us. No doubt, that will be embarrassing for you if your people were to find out.” The King opened his mouth, then snapped it shut again as his eyes narrowed. Pity filled Abigail’s heart at the sight of him. She didn’t think she’d ever seen her father so lost for words. “Surely you don’t wish to be humiliated, Sire,” Jacintha added in her soft tones. “It would be better for all if this was just swept under the rug, never to be spoken about again.” The Prince nodded enthusiastically, reaching for Jacintha’s hand. “You could put a great spin on the situation,” he told the King. “The union between your daughter and the Alphas could be seen as a gesture of peace between the two sides of the kingdom.” Abigail held her breath and felt Stavros squeeze her wrist. She glanced up at him out of the corner of her eye and saw the small smile that played on his lips. She almost smiled back, relief washing over her in one glorious wave. How obvious it was now. The King had no choice. If he declared war, he would be seen as weak and petty, especially when the rest of the kingdom realized that shewanted to be mated with the wolves. When her father took a step back from the Divide, she knew it was settled. He gave a curt nod, every muscle in his short frame tense as he glared at their group. “”You may have her if you wish.” He addressed Caine and Stavros in a tone designed to make her feel less than two feet tall. But he didn’t succeed. She felt more powerful than she ever had before. Turning to Caine, she watched him nod to her father. “Thank you for being so gracious.” The King sniffed and glared at Abigail once more as if hoping she’d change her mind. But she merely smiled back at him until he swiveled and stormed back to the carriage, purple robes flowing around him. “Well, Beauty,” Stavros whispered in her ear as the carriage pulled away, “I think you just saved the kingdom.” Her smile spread into a grin that was certain to be unladylike, and she threw her arms around his neck, breathing in his scent of forest and fresh sweat. Behind her, Caine rubbed a hand down her back and his lips came to her ear.

“You agree to be ours now, Princess?” She nodded against the crook of Stavros’s neck, then twirled in his arms to face Caine. “Yes,” she said, reaching for his hands, reveling in the warmth that spilled from his eyes. “I shall be yours forever.” “Thank heavens for that.” The Alpha patted his hands on the brothers’ shoulders and started to laugh before glancing back at Jacintha and the Prince. “It seems we didn’t need Philip’s help after all.” “I didn’t think you would,” the Prince replied, taking the witch’s arm in his. He smiled down at Abigail and winked. “Now the Princess has saved us all, perhaps we should celebrate?” “Hear, hear,” Stavros agreed, pulling Abigail flush against his body. “But not tonight.” “No.” Caine’s voice deepened as he lowered his tone until only she and Stavros could hear. “Tonight it shall be us. Just us.” A shiver passed through her, and a flutter started low in her belly. She looked from one brother to the other and felt her heart pound beneath her breast. What a lucky princess she was. Epilogue
In the very center of Fort Bestial, beneath the pink sky, Abigail stood on a wooden platform, locked between two very hard bodies. Sweat rolled over her skin, and she gasped for breath as the intoxicating scent of sex flooded her senses. She opened her eyes and drank in the sight of Stavros’s face, tense with exertion as he pumped his cock into her in smooth strokes. Behind her, Caine pounded her ass with his cock, his large hands holding her at the waist as he drove inside her. Letting her head fall back against the curve of Caine’s shoulder, she stared up at the rising moon, a full orb of silver that shone down upon their circle of mating wolves. All around her, males and females fucked liked animals, their cries of pleasure thundering in her ears. Jacintha had been correct. None of them even noticed the mating ritual taking place on the platform as Stavros and Caine buried their cocks inside her over and over again. They were too caught up in their own sexual pleasure. And so was she. Focusing her eyes on Stavros again, she found him watching her through heavy-lidded eyes, a small smile quirking the corner of his mouth. “I love how you fuck, Beauty,” he rasped as the rhythm of his strokes increased. He pumped fast, in and out, then lowered his head to her breast and sucked her nipple between his lips. She let out a sharp cry, leaning back against Caine and twisting her fingers into Stavros’s silky hair. She pulled at the strands as he sucked fiercely on her breast, drawing darts of electricity from her clit to the hard peak of her nipple.

And then she felt Caine growl, a low rumble that started in the pit of his belly and rolled up out of his chest. Glancing up, she saw the full moon had peaked in the sky, and when she returned her gaze to Stavros, she found he was turning. It wasn’t the first time she’d seen them change, but the sight still exhilarated her, sending adrenaline charging through her blood. As black hair sprouted from the smooth chests of her lovers, they started to pump their hips faster, stretching her two tight holes wide around their shafts. The pressure that had been mounting in her lower belly since the beginning of the night tightened and then exploded, ripping through her body with such force that her legs trembled and her toes curled. She let loose a scream, then felt Caine and Stavros spill inside her as they tilted their heads back and roared at the moon. Her whole body shook, and when Caine and Stavros withdrew, she fell to her knees. Her pussy continued to clench, desperate for more, but as she watched her lovers turn into beasts before her eyes, she knew it would be a few hours before they would make love again. When strength returned to her limbs, she rose to her feet and watched her wolves prowl around her in a silent warning to all the other beasts. She shivered, more from exhilaration than the cold night air. Their possessiveness warmed her blood. She wanted to be owned by them. And as her blood continued to run hot and fast, she felt the effects of the ritual and smiled. She was now truly their mate; she could feel it in her bones. And if she was their mate, then they had succeeded in taking the role of Alpha. In awe, she watched her two wolves stand in front of her, surveying the fort that was now theirs. And then they lifted their snouts and howled at the moon, a declaration that the hunt should begin. Following the call of their new leaders, the beasts ran for the gates, disappearing through them, ready to enjoy a night in the forest. Caine and Stavros followed behind, and she knew they took the precaution to ensure her safety. As they vanished into the darkness, she felt a wave of loneliness wash over her. “Come, Princess.” She turned at the sound of Jacintha’s voice and smiled, taking the blanket that the witch offered. “I wish I could run with them, Jacintha,” she admitted as she wrapped the woolen blanket around her naked shoulders. “I know.” The witch placed a hand on Abigail’s arm and guided her back toward the hut. “And you shall run with them soon. But for now we shall eat supper while we await their return.” Abigail nodded and followed Jacintha into the stone hut before turning back to look out at the night. The moonlight danced over Fort Bestial, herhome , making it appear ethereal and beautiful. She smiled softly as a wolf’s howl reached her ears. Another wolf echoed it and she knew her mates were calling for her. Then, following Jacintha’s curvaceous frame, she started down the steps that led to their chambers. The dawn couldn’t come fast enough. THE END
