A Dark World The human eye can see millions of colors. The darkest of these colors is black.

Many people like the color black. Black things can be found in nature.
Some cows are completely black.

• February is Black History Month.
It is a time to remember and honor African Americans who have changed the world.

• All movies were in black and white until about 1915.
• When a company is in the black, it is making money. When a company is in the red, it is losing money.
• Most colors are thought of as warm or cool. Black and white are neutral colors. This means they are neither warm nor cool.
• People in ancient Rome and Egypt wore black to mourn people who died.
