On God's Honor By DC Juris "You summoned me, Archangel Barana?"
"Ah, Ekenezer, right on time. These are for you." Barana held out a manila folder.
"What are they?" Ekenezer eyed Barana and his proffered gift warily.
"Your new orders."

"Orders?" Ekenezer frowned. He had been led to believe there would be no more orders, no more
assignments. No more humans. "Begging your pardon, but--"
"They're orders, Ekenezer, not requests. Besides, this one's right up your alley." Barana waggled
the folder. "Take a look."
Ekenezer remained still. No more orders. That's what he had been told. Why this? Why now?
"It's a plush job." Barana flipped open the folder and leafed through the pages. "This guy'll be
easy. He's a bit of a klutz, and seems to have some bad luck, but he's low profile. Nothing like
the last time. We wouldn't do that to you, would we?"
Last time. Ekenezer closed his eyes briefly. He still bore the scars on his wings from last time.
Barana sat back in his chair. "Unless, of course, you want me to tell the big guy you'd rather not
do his bidding."
Ekenezer sighed. "Of course not." He reached out, frowning again, this time at the uncontrollable
trembling of his hand. Angels were not supposed to fear anything.
"Good boy. One last mission, on God's honor."
"What's my cover story?"
"You're Barry Scott, the new vice president of accounting."
"I don't know anything about accounting."
Barana chuckled. "Neither did the old vice president. You know you won't actually have to do
anything. The big guy will handle all that. Keep watch of your ward. Keep him safe."
Ekenezer scanned down the first page and glanced at the picture briefly. Nathan Bradley.
Handsome enough, although mostly unassuming -- hazel eyes and brown hair. Mid-level
accountant. Single. No siblings. Gay. Wait... gay? His gaze met Barana's. "Why?"
"'Ours isn't to question. What the big guy wants, the big guy gets. I've got no idea what's so
special about this one, and I don't care. Neither should you. Do your job. Leave the rest to God.
Oh, and get a haircut."
Ekenezer blanched and ran a hand through his long, dark hair possessively. "A haircut?"
"You're supposed to be a vice president. Must look the part, right?"

Still grieving the loss of his luscious locks, Ekenezer scratched at the back of his neck as he

boarded the elevator.
"Hold the elevator!" Nathan Bradley came running toward him, one arm outstretched, the other
clutching a pile of papers and folders. "Wait!"
Ekenezer stuck his foot in the door in time to keep it from closing.
"Thanks, very much."
Ekenezer nodded. "You're Nathan Bradley, aren't you?"
Nathan glanced at him, eyes wide. "I am."
"Barry Scott." Ekenezer held out his hand.
"Barry Scott." Nathan frowned. "Where have I heard your name before?"
"I'm the new vice president of accounting."
Nathan's face turned scarlet. "Of course! Pleased to meet you, Mister Scott," he said, shaking
Ekenezer's hand.
"Call me Barry. Mister Scott's my father." Old joke. Lame joke. Nevertheless, Ekenezer couldn't
think of anything else to say. Nathan was beautiful. Those average features that had stared
blandly at him from the photo were now alive and animated, glowing with vigor and sexuality.
Sexuality? Ekenezer shook himself. Not like him to think such unholy thoughts! Fortunately, he
was distracted from them as Nathan's entire pile of folders tumbled to the floor.
"God damn it!" Nathan cursed.
Ekenezer winced. He had never been able to get used to the human habit of cursing. "Here, let
me help you with those." He bent down to retrieve half of the stack.
"What a way to make an impression on the new boss, eh? Show up running late and dump a pile
of crap on his feet."
"I've had worse on my feet, I assure you."
Nathan glanced up at him, no doubt wondering what a vice president could have had on his feet
that had been all that bad.
Ekenezer chuckled to himself, remembering what some of those things had been. There had been
the time in Brussels when that girl had vomited on him. There had been the time in Nevada when
he had trudged through a cow pasture -- and more than a little manure -- to rescue the farmer's
son. There had been the time... He shuddered violently and snatched his hand back from the
unexpected glide of Nathan's skin against his own.

"Sorry. Wasn't trying to rip your hand off or anything." "My fault. I was daydreaming." Ekenezer stood and smoothed his hands over his jacket, tried not to look at Nathan. You're an angel, he admonished himself. A representative of God on Earth! Act like it! The elevator came to a blessed stop and the door slid open not a moment too soon for Ekenezer's frazzled nerves. He shuffled out the door and watched as Nathan went his own way down the opposite hall. Ekenezer's gaze swept up and down Nathan, taking in his small shoulders and falling to linger on his... Ekenezer blushed and turned away, scandalized by his own actions. He had certainly not been looking at a human's rear end. Certainly not Nathan Bradley's. A man's! Certainly not when his wings were the price to be paid. *** Klutz wasn't the word. Only four months had passed, but Ekenezer had no idea how many times he'd had to intervene on Nathan's behalf. He'd stopped counting after three dozen. He'd never met anyone so prone to accidents as Nathan. No matter how many near misses he had, Nathan never seemed to learn anything about being more careful. Ekenezer had no idea what Nathan was supposed to do in the grand scheme of life, but he desperately hoped it didn't involve heights or anything sharp and pointy. Ekenezer shook his head, his thoughts lingering on his ward. Nathan possessed a sweet, gentle nature that Ekenezer admired. Despite being gay and therefore obviously having been the brunt of more than his fair share of ridicule, Nathan seemed to view the world with a sort of innocence. Ekenezer doubted very seriously if Nathan ever expected anyone to harm him. There didn't seem to be a mean or inconsiderate bone in Nathan's body; in fact, he went out of his way to help his coworkers, often at his own inconvenience. More and more, Ekenezer found himself unable to shake his growing lust for Nathan. It didn't matter what Ekenezer did -- what he tried to think of or do to distract himself -- his mind kept going right back to the image of the two of them naked together. He shivered, seeing his fantasy again in his head: their warm, sweat slicked bodies twined around each other, arms and legs clinging, hands and mouths searching, exploring. "Barry? Did you hear me?" Ekenezer's head jerked up, and he started. The object of his mental meandering stood just inside his doorway. "What's that?" "I said I'd be taking off now. I have a doctor's appointment, remember?" "Oh, yes, of course." Ekenezer nodded, fighting to keep his gaze from dipping to Nathan's crotch. Grant me strength.

"See you at the picnic this weekend?" Ekenezer frowned. He'd forgotten about the picnic. He smiled broadly, though, at the thought of seeing Nathan outside the office. "Absolutely." "Great!" Nathan lingered, and Ekenezer thought he might have something more to say. But Nathan simply nodded and walked away. Ekenezer forced his attention back to sorting the stack of papers on his desk. He didn't actually have to perform any functions of the job, but he still had to maintain a certain image for the employees. And the mundane task kept him from his most unangelic thoughts. *** Ekenezer sat at one of the wooden picnic tables the next day, absently making small talk, his eyes constantly scanning for Nathan. Almost noon, and Nathan still hadn't shown. Perhaps he had forgotten? Seemed odd though, as he'd been the one to remind Ekenezer yesterday. Still, Ekenezer didn't feel anything amiss, so he chatted with the rest of their coworkers and waited. He didn't wait long. Senses trained to Nathan's aura, Ekenezer spotted him immediately. Nathan strolled along the park trail toward the tables. His dress was casual -- a pair of faded jeans and a fitted black T-shirt with, ironically, a half-naked male angel printed on it, and black sandals. His long red hair, usually kept back in a neat braid, fanned out around his head, brushing his shoulders. His bright blue eyes found Ekenezer, and Ekenezer stifled a gasp, the sight of Nathan sending a shock of pleasure through him straight to his cock. "Are you all right, Mr. Scott?" "What?" Ekenezer responded distractedly, annoyed at the intrusion. He glanced at Becky, the receptionist. "I asked if you were all right. You looked startled." "Ah. Yes, I'm fine, thanks." Ekenezer stood and made his way over to Nathan. "Hey, Barry!" Nathan greeted him with a charming smile, and Ekenezer felt his knees buckle. "Nate, there you are!" Leslie, another of the receptionists, bounded up to them before Ekenezer could speak, hooking her arm in Nathan's and leading him away. Nathan cast an apologetic smile over his shoulder as he followed along. Ekenezer returned to his table and sat staring at Nathan, watching the graceful way he moved when he walked, the ease with which he traded banter with the other employees and the catering crew. One of the waitresses blushed and giggled at whatever Nathan had said. Ekenezer sighed. Beautiful.

Ekenezer let his mind wander, thinking of the dreams he'd started having recently. Dreams of Nathan. Dreams running the gamut from simply innocent, flirtatious banter to hot, erotic, steamy sex that went on and on. Ekenezer wanted to see them come to life. He wanted to walk over to Nathan, profess his love. Fall to his knees and service Nathan, worship Nathan's body. Ekenezer groaned. Insane. I'm going insane. Across the pavilion, Frank from the mail room leaned over to Nathan, laid a hand on his wrist, and Ekenezer fought with all his might to remain in his seat. He didn't like the predatory look in Frank's eyes. Not. One. Bit. Knowing Nathan, he knew the lad would never interpret Frank as a threat. Ekenezer ground his teeth together and swallowed down the urge to run to Nathan's defense. He could only respond to actual danger and, so far, Frank was nothing more than obnoxious. So far. Nathan smiled at Frank and shook his head, casting a surreptitious glance in Ekenezer's direction. Ekenezer's hope rose; maybe Nathan was becoming better at reading people. Frank carried on the conversation for a few more minutes, until he apparently said something Nathan didn't care for. Nathan jerked away from Frank as though he'd been bitten, frowning. He shook his head several times, then made his way over to Ekenezer's table and lowered himself onto the bench next to him. "You look as though your puppy's been run over," Ekenezer observed, hoping to not let on he'd watched the entire exchange. Nathan glanced at him. "Do I?" "What's wrong?" "Nothing." Nathan's gaze slid to Frank. "What did he say?" Ekenezer asked. "It's nothing to worry yourself over. Just a friendly chat." Ekenezer sighed. "I may not be gay, but I'm not blind. There was nothing friendly in the way he looked at you." He frowned, wondering at the lump that had leapt into his throat at the words may not be gay. "What about the way I was looking at him? Doesn't that count for anything?" Nathan plucked at the fabric of his shirt, pulling a piece of paint off one of the angel's wings. "Of course it counts. Don't de-feather him." Ekenezer caught Nathan's hand and squeezed it. "Angels need their wings." Remember that the next time you're dreaming of him in your bed. Nathan smiled, though there was a tinge of melancholy in the expression, and Ekenezer thought he might have seen a tear or two forming.

"Want to get out of here with me?" Nathan asked. Ekenezer felt his heart flutter. Obviously, Nathan meant the invitation in an innocent manner, but the fact that Nathan had asked him made Ekenezer want to grin like a Cheshire cat. "Sure," he answered, not even bothering to hide the eagerness in his voice. Insane. Completely. *** "So that takes us up to fifth grade." Nathan grinned and handed Ekenezer a spool of cotton candy. "You sure you want to hear my entire life story?" Ekenezer nodded, taking the spool and frowning at it. "I said I did, didn't I?" "Don't tell me you've never had cotton candy?" Nathan paid the vendor and they continued walking. "Guilty." Ekenezer turned the stick around and around in his hand, trying to decide what angle to eat the stuff from. "You can't be so logical about it," Nathan advised. "You gotta dive in. Like this." Nathan tore off a chunk of cotton candy with his teeth, leaving a trail of bits of fluffy carnage in his wake. He swallowed and licked his lips, his tongue already a lovely shade of blue. Ekenezer watched the slide of Nathan's tongue, willing himself to stop imagining what it would feel like. Nathan's eyes met his, and Ekenezer sighed, fighting not to get lost in those beautiful blue pools. Nathan's expression hopeful, he moved half a step closer to Ekenezer. Not such an innocent invitation after all. Ekenezer could feel the heat of Nathan's body, and it made him want to swoon into Nathan's arms. That Nathan inched even closer didn't help the situation, and it certainly didn't dampen the spirits of Ekenezer's suddenly-stirring cock. Ekenezer did the only thing he could think of to do to draw Nathan's attention away. He dropped his cotton candy. Nathan's gaze, thankfully, followed the falling bundle, and then he did as well, turning and stepping back into the street to grab it. Ekenezer sensed the threat a split second before he heard the screech of tires. Distracted by his carnal thoughts, he had let his guard down, and now Nathan was in mortal danger. No time to move. No time to think. Ekenezer barely remembered to cast a cloaking spell before he fanned his wings out and wrapped them around Nathan, pulling him close. He'd revealed himself to his ward, but at least no one else would see them, including the driver of the car.

Nathan's body collided against him, a surprised cry leaving Nathan's lips as he struggled. "Be still!" Ekenezer hissed against Nathan's ear. He held Nathan immobile as the car passed through them as simply as it would have through thin air. Ekenezer felt the pain of the impact, though; he felt the metal of the car tear through his wings, knew he would bear more scars from this. Not like the last time, eh? He chuckled bitterly. It wouldn't have been, had it not been for his stupid foolishness. Ekenezer released Nathan, managing somehow to keep the invisibility shield intact. Nathan turned to him. "Barry?" Ekenezer stood rigid, fighting for breath. He flexed his wings, gasping as pain shot through him. "What in the hell?" "I assure you... I'm not... from Hell." Ekenezer crumpled to the ground. "Barry!" Nathan rushed forward, felt for a pulse. "Come on, man, don't die on me! Help!" he yelled. "Someone call 911!" Ekenezer clutched at Nathan's shirt. "They... can't hear you." At least he hoped they couldn't. In his weakened state, he couldn't be certain the spell was holding out. As of yet no one had turned to look at them, and that was a good sign indeed. The last thing he needed was an audience. "Listen, I don't know what just happened. It doesn't matter. You're hurt and you need medical attention." Nathan's words were rushed, frantic. "No, please. You can't take me to a hospital. I'm not... it's not what it seems. I just need to rest." Ekenezer's head fell back weakly. He fought for consciousness. "Please. Trust. Me." Nathan frowned. He looked around a few more times, lower lip caught between his teeth, and finally sighed. "All right, but you gotta walk. I can't carry you." Ekenezer nodded. "I can do that. My car... is close." He stood with Nathan's help, but his legs wobbled and he knew any minute they would go out from under him completely. Slowly, hobbling along, they made it to Ekenezer's car. He reached into his pocket and pulled out his keys. He pressed them into Nathan's hand and let his own linger, drawing comfort from the warmth of Nathan's flesh. Living flesh. Nathan helped him inside, leaning over to fasten the seat belt around him. Ekenezer chuckled. Apparently, his little reality-defying trick hadn't convinced Nathan he was invulnerable. Nathan ran around and slid into the driver's side. "Where do you live? Barry?" He shook Ekenezer's shoulder.

Ekenezer's throat worked, but he couldn't force any words out. The world dimmed, went dark. *** Ekenezer sat up quickly, the realization that he was in a bed, and not lying on the side of the road, making him sigh with relief. At least he had made it somewhere. Unable to recall anything past the car, he looked around. He had no clue where he was. Or why he was naked. "Hey, you're finally awake. Man, you sleep like the dead. How're you feeling?" Nathan stood next to the bed, holding a glass of water. "Um..." Ekenezer glanced down under the covers. "Sorry about that. You wouldn't wake up when we got here, so I had to drag you. There's still mud outside from last week's rain and I didn't want mud in the bed, so..." He shrugged. "I'm kind of a neat freak. Sorry." "It's okay. Where is here, exactly?" Ekenezer asked, taking the glass and drinking down the water quickly, thankfully. He hadn't noticed how parched his throat felt until the cool liquid hit it. "My house. So, what the hell happened?" Nathan gazed at him expectantly. Ekenezer stretched and groaned. "How long have I been asleep?" "About ten hours. You had wings. Wings, Barry. What's that about?" "Wings?" Ekenezer repeated, adding an upward inflection to his voice that he hoped sounded surprised. "I don't know what you're--" "No. No, no, no. No way. Don't pull that crap. You had wings. They popped out of your back and you wrapped me in them right before the car hit us. And then you were standing there, and they were bleeding. I'm not making this up. That car came speeding down the street, and I stepped right into its path like an idiot. But nothing happened to me. No broken bones, no cuts, no scrapes. No nothing. Because of you. Come clean with me. What the hell are you?" Ekenezer sighed. He had never revealed himself -- never let a human see his wings, never let a human know he'd saved them. Such was the way it worked. He did what he did in silence and darkness, unthanked, unappreciated, and people lived their lives in ignorance. Until now. Judging by the look of fanatical self-belief in Nathan's eyes, he clearly wouldn't be convinced he was mistaken. Even now, he stood there adamantly shaking his head. Nathan wasn't going to accept anything less than the truth. "Are you even human?"

Ekenezer looked up, drawn by the soft tone of Nathan's awe-filled voice. "I'm an angel," he
blurted. Well, at least my descent into madness is complete.
"An angel?"
"Yes. My name isn't Barry Scott. It's Ekenezer. I'm your guardian."
"Why?"
Ekenezer blinked. Not quite the response he'd expected. He'd anticipated disbelief, anger -- even,
perhaps, prayer and submission. "Why what?"
"Why me? I mean, why not someone important?"
Ekenezer shook his head and answered Nathan's question with a question of his own. "You
believe me?"
Nathan shrugged. "I don't know of any other way to explain what happened today. A car passed
through you. Through us. Through."
"I know." Fatigued, his wings aching, Ekenezer settled back into bed.
"You didn't answer me. Why me? Why not someone who makes a difference in the world?
Someone who matters?"
The look of disbelief and doubt on Nathan's face said he truly didn't believe he deserved an
angel. Ekenezer reached out and took Nathan's hand. "I don't know why you, specifically. I know
you matter to God. And you matter to me. Very much."
Nathan's fingers curled tightly around Ekenezer's. "Can I get you anything?"
Ekenezer suppressed a groan and watched as Nathan licked his lips, mesmerized by the slow,
wet slide of his tongue. Ekenezer had never experienced any sins of the flesh. He'd never wanted to. Along the years, and he'd had some of the most interesting -- and sexually expressive -wards. None of them had ever interested him, never tempted him to throw it all away. Not until Nathan. Nathan's hand tightened even more, and Ekenezer felt the warmth of that touch spread through him. "Ekenezer?"
That does it. Ekenezer couldn't think straight when Nathan said his true name like that, in that
soft, velvety voice of his that sounded like nothing Ekenezer had ever known and made him
think of Heaven and choruses of cherubs singing.

"Nathan, I..." Ekenezer trailed off. He had no idea what to say, no idea what to do, and he suddenly felt very, very foolish. He could give in to his urges and the experience would probably be everything he dreamed. Wings, whispered that tiny voice in the back of his mind. What would Nathan want with a fallen angel? Ekenezer shook his head. "I'd like to be alone, please." Nathan nodded silently. He squeezed Ekenezer's hand a final time, drew his own away slowly, and turned to leave the room, his shoulder slumped. Ekenezer dug deep within his soul, searching for the courage not to shout out after Nathan, not to beg him to stay. Lost cause, that. Wings be damned. They were worth nothing if keeping them meant suffering the ache he felt inside. Nathan completed his world. From the moment he'd laid eyes on Nathan, Ekenezer had burned for him. He threw back the covers and stood, painfully aware of his nakedness, but somehow not caring. "Nathan?" Nathan turned, wide eyes full of expectant hope. "Yes?"
"Say it again."
"What?"
"My name. Say it again." Ekenezer's hands started to shake, and he balled them into fists to hide
it.
Nathan frowned. "Why?"
"Because I don't want to resist anymore. I'm tired of fighting what I feel for you. And because
when I hear my name on your lips... I can't."
"Ekenezer."
Ekenezer sighed and fell to his knees. He groaned as his wings released and stretched out. He
held his hand out to Nathan.
Nathan went to him, knelt on the floor and Ekenezer pulled him close, wrapping his wings
around Nathan tightly. "I've never done anything like this before. I've never wanted anyone,"
Ekenezer confessed.
"Never?"
Ekenezer shook his head. "I want you, though. I want this between us. I want to spend eternity
with you."
Nathan's smile was shy, but happy. "I want that, too."
"There's something you should know. Before I tell you, understand I've made my peace with it. I

accept it, and it doesn't change the fact that I want you. If we make love, if I give myself to you, I
lose my wings. Literally. I'll be cast down. I won't be an angel any longer."
Nathan pushed against him, shaking his head. "No. You can't give that up for me. I won't let
you."
Ekenezer locked his feathers together, preventing Nathan's escape, and took Nathan's face in his hands. "Did you hear what I said? You are what I want. If I can't have you, the way I want you, then all of this?" He ruffled his feathers. "Meaningless. I only regret I won't be able to protect you anymore. You'll have to be a lot more careful when you go diving after cotton candy." Nathan shook his head again, tears forming in his eyes. "How can you joke, when--"
"I can joke because you let me joke. You free me, Nathan. You have awakened such wondrous
feelings in me. I have to have you. Has to be this way or..." Ekenezer sighed. He didn't want to
think of the alternative, but he knew he couldn't go on, keeping his hands to himself and
pretending nothing existed between the two of them.
"Or what?"
"Or I can't be your angel. If you truly don't want me, I'll relinquish my post, and the hosts will
send another guardian for you."
"No." The word was an urgent whisper, and Nathan's tears began to fall in earnest. "I don't want
that."
"We have our answer, don't we?"
Nathan ran his hands through Ekenezer's feathers. "But your wings..."
"Are worth the price, my love."
It was Nathan's turn to shiver. "Say that again."
"My love." Ekenezer bent his head slowly, hesitantly. He had kissed other angels on the cheek
before, but he was certain this was vastly different. "I don't have any idea what in the name of
hell I'm doing," he admitted with a self-depreciating chuckle.
"It's okay. I can show you." Nathan tugged up the end of Ekenezer's shirt and ran his hands under
the fabric to touch Ekenezer's chest.
Ekenezer gasped. "Sweet Mother Mary..."
"You've never been touched at all, have you?"
Ekenezer shook his head. "Does that bother you?"

Nathan bit his lower lip. "I've never deflowered someone, but how hard could it be?"
"It's pretty hard." Ekenezer smiled slyly. He took Nathan's hand and guided it down to his cock.
"My, my. For someone who's never done this, you certainly know how to get things started."
"Good way to break the ice, huh?"
"Very good indeed." Nathan gently squeezed Ekenezer's cock.
Ekenezer made an incoherent sound and his wings shuddered.
"Easy, easy," Nathan cooed. "Try to relax."
"Relax?" Ekenezer wondered if Nathan had suddenly lost his mind. Passion and lust hummed
through his veins like sizzling electricity, leaving him feeling as though he’d shatter at the
slightest touch. There was no relaxation to be had!
Nathan leaned back and pulled his shirt off, then went to work on his pants. "Let's at least get in
bed," he suggested. "I don't wanna take your virginity on the floor."
Ekenezer's determination faltered. His virginity. Not that he didn't want to proceed, but the reality of what they were about to do hit him full force. He felt his stomach knot. Angels didn't typically feel terror, and Ekenezer had no idea what to do about it. "Are you all right, baby?"
Baby. Ekenezer chuckled. There was something wildly erotic about a centuries-old angel being
called 'baby' by a twenty-five-year-old human. "I think so. Can I admit to you I'm scared and not
sound ridiculous?"
Nathan smiled softly and ran his hands over the tops of Ekenezer's wings. "Of course you can."
He blushed. "You know how this is done, right?"
Ekenezer nodded. "I know what goes where."
"Oh, good." Nathan let out a relieved sigh. He stood and offered a hand down to Ekenezer.
"Come on, up into bed." Ekenezer climbed into bed, lying back against the pillows, his wings still spread. He glanced over his shoulder at them. They were sore from the impact of the car, and it felt incredibly good to stretch them, but even some angels found wing-bearing to be a bit too intimate and personal of a gesture. "I can fold them in if they bother you." "They don't bother me. I think they're pretty." Nathan stroked his hand through the feathers

again. "Can you feel that?"
Ekenezer nodded, shivering. "Very nice." He reached out tentatively, and slowly pulled Nathan
down to him, and pressed their bodies together, chest to chest, thigh to thigh, cock to cock.
Overwhelmed by the feel of flesh on flesh, Ekenezer began to shake.
"Shh," Nathan slid his arms around Ekenezer's waist and kissed his neck. "Are you frightened of
me?" he asked gently.
"No, it's not that."
"Then what?"
Ekenezer shrugged and lowered his gaze, feeling suddenly extremely shy. "I'm afraid of
disappointing you, I suppose. I don't have a frame of reference for this sort of thing."
"You could never disappoint me," Nathan told him, his tone serious.
"Don't put me on too high a pedestal."
Nathan ground his hips against Ekenezer's. "I know we have to go slow, but, damn, I just wanna
turn you over and pound your ass." Nathan nibbled at his shoulder.
If Ekenezer hadn't already been shaking, that would've done it. He felt his own cock grow
painfully hard at Nathan's words. He groaned as Nathan flicked his tongue lightly over one of his nipples. "Nathan..." "I like it when you say my name," Nathan purred. He closed his lips over Ekenezer's nipple and sucked hard. "Nathan!" Ekenezer twined his fingers in Nathan's long hair, holding his head tightly. "Want you," he panted, his breathing quick and ragged. Nathan rubbed his index finger up and down the back of Ekenezer's cock, on the spot a little below the head. With his other hand, he squeezed Ekenezer's balls in time with his stokes. Ekenezer felt the pressure building inside him. Nathan's hands were so warm and soft. More. He wanted more. "Please," Ekenezer begged, having no idea what he truly asked for, but certain Nathan could provide it. Nathan covered Ekenezer's body with his own, buried his nose in Ekenezer's hair, and breathed in deeply. "I love you," he whispered. "Crazy, isn't it?"
Ekenezer smiled at him. "Indeed. But I love you, too." He slid his arms around Nathan's neck.
"I've watched you for so long at the office, trying to act all aloof. I'd catch you looking at me,

when you thought I wasn't paying attention, and I'd think, God, how did I get the attention of a man like that? But then you never made a move, so I figured I hadn't gotten your attention after all." "You had my attention all along. You had me all along." Ekenezer's mind turned end over end as his eyes met Nathan's, for the passion and need he saw looking back at him stole his breath and arrested his thinking. "I need you, crazy or not." "Nathan..." Ekenezer still had no idea what he meant to say, what emotion he meant to express, only that he felt a pressing weight upon his heart Nathan alone could lift. Nathan leaned in, his lips finding Ekenezer's. There was no rational thought for Ekenezer, only sensations and his responses. Entirely instinctual and primal. Beautiful. Ekenezer moaned, unable to think beyond the need and the lust pounding through his veins. "Please." Nathan stood and Ekenezer panicked. He reached out to Nathan. "Don't leave," he pleaded. Nathan was back to him quickly, a foil packet in one hand and a small bottle in the other. "I'm not leaving you, baby. Just needed supplies. Although, can angels get sexually transmitted diseases?" Ekenezer shook his head. "I can't get any sort of disease. At least, not yet." Nathan looked at his hands, frowning. "Are you sure about this?" He tossed the foil packet onto the bedside table with a shrug. In response, Ekenezer smiled and pulled Nathan down to kiss his cheek. "I am. I wish I had a poet's gift for words so I could tell you what I feel inside when you touch me. The best I can say is that I feel bright, shiny, and new." He chuckled. "Which sounds absurd." "No," Nathan murmured, nuzzling Ekenezer's ear. "Not absurd. I know how monumental this is for you, and that someone like you would trust someone like me with yourself is very humbling." Ekenezer gazed at Nathan, watching him intently as Nathan moved to straddle him once again. Nathan slid down, took Ekenezer's cock by the base, ring and pinky fingers tucked under to massage his balls, and took Ekenezer into his mouth. Ekenezer gasped and arched as the warmth of Nathan's mouth surrounded his cock. Nathan moaned in response, the sensation of it almost more than Ekenezer could bear. Nathan's attentions left him, and Ekenezer heard what he assumed must be the cap on the bottle. Ekenezer felt the slickness of Nathan's fingers between his ass cheeks, tickling his opening

before gently sliding inside him. Ekenezer whimpered, teetering on the precipice of control, wanting badly to prolong the rapturous feelings but yearning for glorious release at the same time. Tears slipped from the corners of his eyes. "Am I hurting you?" Ekenezer shook his head quickly, hands clenching in the bed sheets. "No, no. Please, please don't stop. Please..." "Shh." Nathan cooed. "I'm not going to stop." Nathan lowered his head again to suck Ekenezer's cock, twirling his tongue up and down, his fingers moving all the while, massaging a sweet, sweet spot Ekenezer hadn't known existed, making him weak. Two more fingers entered him, and Ekenezer felt his balls tighten to the point of pain. His wings shuddered and he thrust his hips down, seeking more of Nathan's wonderful touch. "Need you." Withdrawing from Ekenezer, Nathan moved up to claim his mouth, kissing Ekenezer deeply, stroking his face, petting his hair. Nathan lowered his head, pressing their foreheads together. Waiting. Asking. While his eyes pleaded with Ekenezer to let him continue, his silence said something completely different. Ekenezer knew that he had only to say the word and Nathan would leave the room entirely if such was what he wanted. Ekenezer nodded, pulling Nathan down for another kiss and wrapping his legs around Nathan's waist, his wings around Nathan's body. Nathan's gentle hands touched him again, spreading him open. Ekenezer cried out as Nathan's cock slid inside him and Nathan began thrusting at once. In and out. In and out. Slowly. Filling him to the root each time, making him feel as though he would surely burst with the pressure and the pleasure. Nathan's hand wrapped around Ekenezer's cock and began to pump. The world spun away from existence. Comprehension abandoned Ekenezer. All that remained was Nathan -- his scent, his voice, his touch. All that remained was sensation. Nathan's touch was everywhere, fondling and caressing Ekenezer's body, and Ekenezer felt as if every touch was somehow transferred to his own erection. His entire body tensed and pulsed, reaching. Reaching. Grabbing for that final precipice like a man dangling from a cliff. Ekenezer felt as if his very life depended on this one act, and if he didn't see the end, if he didn't find his release, he would surely die. Then it happened. Nathan cried out, and Ekenezer felt the glorious heat of Nathan's release fill him. Nathan leaned in and lowered his head for a deep, penetrating kiss with lips and teeth and tongue, as he sped up the pace of his hand, squeezing and pumping Ekenezer's cock. An intense, sweet twitching spread from the head of Ekenezer's cock to deep within his groin, through his abdomen in an irresistible, almost unbearable wave of pleasure. His heart began to race, his breathing stopped with a shudder. His body became one vast connection of radiating pleasure building with intensity by the second. He felt the pulsating feeling of his seed coming

up through his cock and then a blinding, straining release as it gushed up and out like a miniature geyser. A keening, strangled cry filled his head and he realized it came from his own voice. His body shook violently; he had no way to control it -- didn't even try. Couldn't. Ekenezer's vision went blank; his eyes wide open, he saw nothing. He heard nothing. He thought nothing. Ekenezer fell back limply in the aftermath, still shaking, still unable to see or hear, unable to catch his breath. He felt Nathan cradle him close, felt the vibrations of Nathan's voice rattle in his chest beneath his ear, felt Nathan's fingers caressing his wings. He wanted to cling to Nathan, but he couldn't. He couldn't make his body do anything at all. Hours passed before rationality returned to Ekenezer, and when it finally did, Nathan was still there holding him tightly, smiling at him. "Forgive me for your wings," Nathan whispered, tears spilling down his cheeks.
Ekenezer nodded. "Always." He cocked his head, a familiar murmuring filling his mind. Not
now! "I'm being summoned."
"Summoned? Oh, you mean..." Nathan looked to the ceiling.
"Yes."
Nathan's arms tightened and he pulled Ekenezer impossibly closer. "They won't keep you?
Punish you, or... or something, will they?" The words tumbled from his lips in a panicked
jumble, his voice tight with emotion.
Ekenezer ran his hands through Nathan's hair. "Don't worry, love. I'll come back to you, one way
or another. I promise. Angel or mere mortal, I am yours."
*** "My Lord Almighty!" Ekenezer went down on his knees quickly, averting his gaze. "Stand up, Ekenezer." Ekenezer stood, uncertain. Not how he'd imagined it. He'd assumed there would be no more communication from Heaven after tonight. And certainly not from God himself!
"You assumed wrong."
Ekenezer bowed his head. "Forgive me, Almighty. I am humbled by your--"
"That will be enough of that. Look at me, Ekenezer."
Ekenezer looked up, fought to keep his gaze from slipping to the floor.

"Flex your wings."
"But... they're gone."
"Are they?"
Ekenezer frowned. He concentrated, and his wings uncurled. "I...I don't understand, Almighty."
"Is it not said I work in mysterious ways?"
"It is. Does this mean I'm still..." Ekenezer dared not even speak the words.
"You are still an angel, yes."
"But... did I not offend you?"
The Almighty shook his head. "Ekenezer, the humans are my creation. I will protect them at all
costs, even if that means allowing one of my angels to fornicate with them. You are not the first;
you will not be the last, I'm sure."
"There have been others?" Ekenezer had heard rumors, of course, but nothing founded in facts.
"Oh, yes. It happens much more often than you would think. Nathan Bradley is important,
Ekenezer. His survival is paramount. If protecting him means... this, so be it."
"Why not replace me? Surely another angel could protect him?" Ekenezer shook his head at his
own stupidity of actually arguing against his wings.
"Not as you can. He would not allow it. I heard his heart's plea last night, when you spoke of
finding him another guardian. He would sooner kill himself than have you gone from his side,
and that is a chance I am not willing to take. I cannot give you details, but he will change the
world, and you will be at his side when he does. On my honor."
"Thank you, Almighty." Ekenezer knelt again, tears stinging his eyes. Never in all his long years
had he imagined a happily ever after such as this, but he would cherish it. He smiled
triumphantly, thinking of the look on Nathan's face when Ekenezer returned to him, wings intact.
"Go home, Ekenezer."
Ekenezer nodded. The sweetest word he'd ever heard. Home.
