Silly Donkey felt hungry for something sweet. “I will get candy,” Donkey said and smacked his lips. Donkey kept his money in a locked chest. The key was missing.

Donkey thought, “To get candy, I need money. To get money, I need the key to that lock. Now where did I put that key?” Donkey asked himself. Donkey looked below his bed for his missing key. It was not there.

There are many kinds of monkeys. Most monkeys live in trees. The body of a monkey is just right for leaping and swinging in treetops. Its hands and feet grip branches. Some monkeys can even use their tails like hands.

Apes
Monkeys and apes are not the same. Monkeys are not as big as apes. Most monkeys have tails but apes do not.

Monkeys Ten, twenty, and even fifty monkeys may stay in packs. If a hunting animal gets close, monkeys tell each other by yelling. Then they dash off. Some monkeys can team up and fight back. Staying together is a way for monkeys to keep safe.

Baby monkeys stay close to their mothers. A baby monkey hangs from its mother. When it grows big, the baby rides on its back. The mother teaches its baby to get food and stay safe.

Monkeys copy each other and learn fast. People train monkeys to help them. It is key that monkeys are smart.
